Thanks Flowers

@BogRollBOGOF, dyspraxia and autism is a difficult combination. I know because that's me. My desire for a structured routine clashes with my rubbish executive function leaving me in a permanent state of anxiety.

My patronus is a rather delicious looking pink piglet. Little bit afraid to whip it out in a zoo, what if the tigers fancy a snack? Disaster.

Linking again, as so embarrassed Blush we went there but didn't 'rave' etc or drop litter.

Orangeblossom78 · 05/06/2020 11:52

Checking in for the new thread while hiding in a small tunnel from the rain.

Drivingdownthe101 · 05/06/2020 11:55

Checking in!

iamapixie · 05/06/2020 12:02

Checking in after a few days in hiding.
It's so nice to see a whole load of different names arriving since we started.
Just knowing that there is a little bit of sense and perspective out there is a real help.

countrygirl99 · 05/06/2020 12:02

I met some dementor deer this morning on my walk through the woods. A slight cough to clear my throat and 2 muntjacs shot out of the undergrowth and disappeared as fast as they could.

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 05/06/2020 12:04

The threshold for shutting public spaces should be so much higher. It’s shocking that they are reducing them at the time we need them most. I went on an illegal drive do I could walk and see the sea (wales). I honestly cried looking across the water and seeing the vastness. My world is too small at the moment

CruCru · 05/06/2020 12:04

Checking in. I sent that Lionel Shriver link to a friend and my mum. Then had a delicious rant about how shit everything is with my friend.

There was a thing in the Times today about choirs “Will no one in government stand up for British choirs?” I won’t repeat it all here but basically Britain has had some fantastic choirs but now everyone is so spooked they won’t allow any choirs for ages - this endangers choral music (as child choristers need to practise) and is a massive shame. Some of the comments are horrible - one person has said “In a post COVID world choirs break all the distancing rules. Of course they should not return. They are hardly necessary. Only a small minority would ever notice them”.

Nihiloxica · 05/06/2020 12:04

Checking in with my lemur patronus.

Teateaandmoretea · 05/06/2020 12:08

I want the use of the word ‘flouted’ to be outlawed

DrearyWallAntler · 05/06/2020 12:10

Checking in.

Weedsnseeds1 · 05/06/2020 12:10

Can I suggest a bit of flocking for the next thread? Early days I know, as this one has just started, but I find I am getting quite attached to the concept of flocking somewhere of late!

I am gutted about choirs. 😭

My kids and I are all members of at least one choir each.

Although given that choirs really do seem to be high risk for spread and the age profile of a lot of choir singers, I think it is fair that it will be a while before we get back to normal.

It will be a real loss, but the world can (just about) manage without choirs for a while.

(Waaaaaaaaahhhh Sad)

KaronAVyrus · 05/06/2020 12:13

This post Covid world sounds utterly shit. Why are some people so keen to ensure that all enjoyment should be squashed?

Cattermole · 05/06/2020 12:14

My patronus is a street cat with no tail, no bollocks, and some of his internal giblets missing, and a serious cattitude. His name is Obelix. He's awesome and he takes no prisoners.

I sing with a large London choir. Singing has been a huge part of my life since childhood and the thought of that not continuing is unbearable. We are destroying so much in the name of ‘safety’.

HauntedGoatFart · 05/06/2020 12:18

Hello!

Just back from a meet with the family we plan to share childcare with from September. We made a few halfhearted "keep the distance" noises at the kids and then both complicitly gave up Grin

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52933804

The number of people infected with coronavirus in homes in England has fallen to 5,600 a day, from 8,000 last week, statisticians suggest.

The estimate is based on swab tests of 19,000 people in 9,000 households by the Office for National Statistics.

Bit of good news.

I think the 2m and masks shit is a sop to frighten people as many in the government do want people back working I think they have an eye on other things like the ecomony and huge gaps opening up in education - they just don't want the critsism of them saying they don't care about people dying to stick to them.

Bollss · 05/06/2020 12:22

I don't think I ever picked a patronus. Don't outlaw me but ~whispers~ I've never really got into Harry potter! Blush

Can I have anything I fancy or is there rules Grin
