*Omg that list of do and don’t in sex.

It’s like it’s like you filthy lot having the sex. Just stop it*

What's this? Grin

ThatLibraryMiss · 05/06/2020 14:27

@ Flippetydip
We really should start a bingo call out on the dementor threads.

Here’s the bingo card I made a month ago. I'm happy to update it if people want to suggest new entries – I don’t think Heatwave Lockdown and Bring in the Army are still current, are they?

I'm intrigued by Darwinism and Anne Frank?!

Allflightscancelled · 05/06/2020 14:32

LOVE the bingo card!

The filters for the masks I ordered weeks ago have just arrived. Tragically, still no sign of the masks they need to go inside.

MorrisZapp · 05/06/2020 14:32

Today I'm angry. The news just reported that current infection in the community is one in one thousand.

One in one fucking thousand. And to catch it you have to be close-ish to someone for 15 minutes.

For this, we've shut down education in Scotland until 11 August. For this, I can't hug my dad.

Never saw this coming but I think I might be turning into a libertarian. Does anyone know what that means?

SockYarn · 05/06/2020 14:33

Just saw a tweet from Karol Sikora. Six confirmed cases in a school setting in Ireland, they traced over 1000 contacts. No further cases.

One study, but still.

UnderTheBus · 05/06/2020 14:34

A couple of graphs from Worldometers

Do you think that tiny increase around the 24th May was the "second spike" caused by VE day?

Now it's been 4 weeks since VE, can we safely say that it didnt make a blind bit of difference, or are dementors still arguing that it's on the way?

For freedom and liberty / own choice?

SockYarn · 05/06/2020 14:35

Me too, @MorrisZapp. Let me make my own decisions.

Orangeblossom78 · 05/06/2020 14:35

This school bubble thing. Does it mean if there is a case they send the bubble home?

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 05/06/2020 14:37

We really should start a bingo call out on the dementor threads

Yup- just ticked off almost all of them! Honestly, I really should stop venturing onto threads with dementors- the lack of empathy and false information is absolutely shocking. I was just told that people only want lockdown to end so they can "go to the pub". The stupidity is mind blowing, and depressing.

SockYarn · 05/06/2020 14:37

I was also fairly horrified to see boxes of surgical face masks prominently displayed on the counter at Boots when I picked up a prescription.

Two things irked me - if PPE is indeed such an issue, it shouldn't be available over the counter in a high street chemist.

Secondly, they were charging 35 fucking quid for a box of 50.

MorrisZapp · 05/06/2020 14:37

The bingo card is fookin ace! It needs 'am I missing something' and 'guinea pigs' for full dementor coverage.

Darwinism means the people who will die from their own stupidity ie they stood near their neighbour to clap for three minutes.

Drivingdownthe101 · 05/06/2020 14:38

Yes they do Orangeblossom78. I think the way it works is that if a child/teacher has a cough or high temp then the bubble is sent home. The person with symptoms has a test. If the test is negative, the bubble can go back in. If positive, the bubble has to self isolate.

Nihiloxica · 05/06/2020 14:42

Never saw this coming but I think I might be turning into a libertarian.

Me too.

This has completely changed how I feel about other people.

I used to trust that most people would not seek to harm me and my family to further their own interests.

Now I know that far too many of them will.

Orangeblossom78 · 05/06/2020 14:42

Ok thanks.

Must be some confidence in this vaccine as they are already making it in bulk www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52917118

ThatLibraryMiss · 05/06/2020 14:42

I'm intrigued by Darwinism and Anne Frank

Darwinism was the idea that people who FLOUTED the rules by FLAUNTING themselves going outside more than once a day for more than the imaginary prescribed maximum of one hour’s exercise would DIE, thereby taking themselves out of the gene pool. NB: you only qualify for a Darwin Award if you haven’t yet had children.

Anne Frank was telling people who chafed against restrictions that they should consider themselves lucky they weren’t in Anne Frank’s situation.

It was all terribly dramatic.

BakewellTarts · 05/06/2020 14:46

I was already of Libertarian leanings and I'm definately there now.

As for Darwin awards anyone who insists we should follow the rules to the letter aren't having sex so likely to die out (probably missing the point here).

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 05/06/2020 14:47

Now it's been 4 weeks since VE, can we safely say that it didnt make a blind bit of difference, or are dementors still arguing that it's on the way

Ive noticed they've gone very quiet about the non existent spike! They were screaming about it a few weeks ago and they havent mentioned it once since snort

MorrisZapp · 05/06/2020 14:48

Yip lockdown just means 'sitting on your sofa watching netflix' so there's nothing to complain about.

Mascotte · 05/06/2020 14:48

Some positive news reported by Karol Sikora on the lack of spread in schools

Mascotte · 05/06/2020 14:50

I'm definitely a libertarian as the mask people have told me 😃

Orangeblossom78 · 05/06/2020 14:50

Interesting - does sound dramatic! Smile

Orangeblossom78 · 05/06/2020 14:51

The issue is with the masks that no-one seems to be mentioning is that studies have shown when people wear them they can stop doing other stuff, they can lead to a false sense of security. Also they can cause problems with people taking them on and off touching their face etc
