Winding down for bed and saw that the Inspector Lynley Mysteries is being repeated on Sky. My god it’s crap. I don’t recall it being this cliched and badly acted when it was on originally.

I used to quite like this. Maybe I was just easily pleased in those days.

Casualty, all of it. For some reason I cannot stop. DD came in the other day when I was watching an episode on catch-up and commented on the poor acting. It was not even Duffy or Charlie!

Oh yes! I had forgotten about Charlie from Casually. He is a terrible actor. I bet he can’t believe his luck to have had a long term role in a prime time BBC show. He might be the nicest man to walk the earth but unfortunately he couldn’t act his way out of a wet paper bag.

Anything with Michelle Keegan in it. She played Bobby Moore's wife, was awful in my opinion.

The way she says 'f' instead of 'th' drives me to distraction.

And the dentist guy (Adam) in Eastenders is incredibly wooden.

I think EE Adam always looks like he's about to break into song. He must be a musicals person.

Emilia Fox in Silent Witness. She's just awful. Comes across as completely stage school, not convincing at all. And the story lines are so contrived! They should have stopped making them after Amanda Burton leftm

Neil Dudgeon in Midsomer Murders. I really liked him in Messiah (with Ken Scott) but in Midsomer? No. He sounds strange, like he’s trying to do an accent that he’s not comfortable with. It just doesn’t work me.

I’m still watching Inspector Lynley. It’s so shite I have to know what happens in the end.

Ian McKellen on Coronation Street. Waaay too thespy and stagey. You expected a curtain call and bouquets at any moment.

Adrien Brady chewing the scenery in Peaky Blinders, with a side mention of Aidan Gillen, who appeared continually baffled.

And that soggy noodle of a woman who played Lady Mary in Downton Abbey as if she was about to go into a posh narcoleptic trance.

Keith Barron (old time actor) was dreadful as was Donald Sinden.

Casualty became so shit that any actor who was in it automatically ruins anything else they're subsequently in for me, e.g. the Dixie actor in Coronation Street.

Half (at least) of the actors on Corrie, but especially Steve and Mary!
