Winding down for bed and saw that the Inspector Lynley Mysteries is being repeated on Sky. My god it’s crap. I don’t recall it being this cliched and badly acted when it was on originally.

I used to quite like this. Maybe I was just easily pleased in those days.

Definitely Dev from Corrie. He is so crap, it’s actually hilarious.

£50 a day for 10-12 hour days is not “what most people get.” It’s not even minimum wage.

The previous post said 'a few hundred pounds a week'. £50 a day isn't a few hundred pounds a week.

But if they only get £50 a day, how come minimum wage doesn't apply?

Definitely Dev from Corrie. He is so crap, it’s actually hilarious.

We've seen him a few times in the supermarket. He walks round like he owns the place. Everyone ignores him.

DH used to work as an extra. He was usually paid around £80 - £120 a day, more if he had a line. That was more than 15 years ago. It was mostly just sitting around waiting for his scene. Not gruelling slog.

Neil Dudgeon in Midsomer Murders

Better than 'Bergerac'.

Agree re Anna Friel - Like Halle Berry - only one expression!

@beanaseireann I don't hate Keira Knightly, I just don't rate her as an actress. I don't find her convincing in the roles she plays, that's it. Actors are in the business of making us believe they're someone else, some are more successful at this than others. Personally I don't think she is, others are free to disagree - opinions are naturally subjective.

Disfordarkchocolate · 20/08/2019 13:09

I've never seen Keeping Faith and from these comments, I don't think I'll bother. I agree about Ardal O'Hanlon in Death in Paradise, its enjoyable tosh but he is dreadful in it.

FurryDogMother · 20/08/2019 13:10

Duffy and Charlie in Casualty make me laugh so much because of the way neither of them look directly at whoever it is they're supposed to be talking to. Charlie stares off into space, and Duffy always casts her eyes down. When they're in a scene together it's hilarious! I've been observing this for years!

eddiemairswife · 20/08/2019 13:15

Whoever plays Gary Windass in Corrie is pretty dreadful.

JaneJeffer · 20/08/2019 13:18

Imagine pulling yourself into work pulling? I can think of worse jobs.

I actually think some soap actors are amazingly good.

justthecat · 20/08/2019 13:26

Anybody and everybody that has ever played Ben Mitchell in Eastenders

cookiechomper · 20/08/2019 13:51

Steve off Corrie had to be the worst I've seen. Just awful.

cookiechomper · 20/08/2019 13:52

Also, some of the actors they had in Waterloo Road were so bad it was funny.

Charlie in Casualty tops it for me and for any Irish people on here my second worst has to be Damien in Fair City (and Irish Soap)

isabellerossignol · 20/08/2019 14:24

£50 a day is £300 a week which is “a few hundred.”

Fair enough, we just had differing figures in mind when referring to 'a few hundred'. I read 'a few hundred' and thought of a far higher figure, maybe £600 or £800.

ShirleyPhallus · 20/08/2019 14:31

I have never watched a British child who could act properly. They all sound horrifically wooden and have awful posh accents.

Not sure what's wrong with having a posh accent, I have one. Inverted snobbery?

To be fair, they always sound so hammy and over-the-top that it isn’t their posh accent that’s grating, is the way they’re way over the top about it

Just look at Emma Watson aged 11: “you’re going to take someone’s eye out! It’s LEVIOSAAAARRRR”

The little boy in Summer of Rockets was very, very posh but was excellent in the part.

ralphfromlordoftheflies · 20/08/2019 14:58

I feel heartbroken that Stephen Graham has been mentioned not once but twice on this thread! I've never watched any actor before who has made me feel so emotional.

MitziK · 20/08/2019 15:08

There's a fairly new actor on Twatenders who I think is particularly shit.

but then again, they were also shit at hiding their 9.45am coke habit as 'hayfever' when I worked with them as well

Charley50 · 20/08/2019 15:09

Liam Neesan!

MrsSiriusBlack1 · 20/08/2019 15:13

All the actors in river city, got to be one of the worst things in tv

Pipandmum · 20/08/2019 15:20

Richard Madden in Bodyguard. The series was so overhyped and awful but he in particular was wooden.

beepbeeprichie · 20/08/2019 15:41

Yes Pip I came on to say the same!!! Great in GoT but the suspension of disbelief in Bodyguard was absolutely ridiculous and he was terrible!!!!!!!

Mrsjayy · 20/08/2019 15:45

I loved Stephen Graham i thought he was a cracking actor however he was in Line of Duty then something on ch 4 that 7 didn't finish it just twigged he was the same character which is a real shame.
