Winding down for bed and saw that the Inspector Lynley Mysteries is being repeated on Sky. My god it’s crap. I don’t recall it being this cliched and badly acted when it was on originally.

I used to quite like this. Maybe I was just easily pleased in those days.

Danny Dire in EE is terrible.

Nice typo Grin

A couple of the kids in Corrie are awful. Not going to name names as it’s mean and they might get better but sure any Corrie fans will probably know which two I mean.

Luxesoap Was that the play about the young woman who went back to Bangladesh with her father?

howwud I’m not sure what it was as it was playing when I set off in the car one afternoon. I tried about 5 mins of it and got so irritated by the totally ridiculous and hopeless attempt at the Indian character’s accent that I switched off. There surely must be an actress of Indian heritage knocking about who could have played the part decently.

Charlie Fairhead in Casualty, hands down.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 03/09/2019 21:33

Apparently the actor based Charlie on a real person who he met researching the part. The avoidance of eye contact is something he deliberately brought to the character. So he might actually be a very good actor. I haven't seen him in anything else to judge against.

thebakerwithboobs · 03/09/2019 21:37

Was the person he based Charlie on also made of cardboard?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 03/09/2019 21:44

@thebakerwithboobs

😂😂😂

Some of the early series of Morse have very bad support actors

I used to wonder if the Wife of Chief Suspect role was played by the same (utterly insipid) woman every time. Mid-thirties (playing older), blonde, pageboy bob/80s body perm, with a great line in melodramatic sighs and soulful stares.

BadLad · 03/09/2019 23:48

Just look at Emma Watson aged 11: “you’re going to take someone’s eye out! It’s LEVIOSAAAARRRR”

It's LeviOsa. Not LevioSA.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/09/2019 23:59

Dev from Corrie would be more suited to the theatre, I think. He tends to sing rather than talk. IYSWIM

Charley50 · 07/09/2019 00:09

Don't really watch Casualty but I really want to now.

Republic1234 · 26/06/2022 23:46

Absolutely agree. Liked Amanda Burton, but Emilia Fox is awful.

mjf981 · 27/06/2022 02:04

Felicity Kendal in Rosemary and Thyme.

newnamethanks · 27/06/2022 07:54

The first set of Barnabys' daughter, forget her name but no. Although she's playing a not very successful actress so maybe she's really good.😀

Chikapu · 27/06/2022 08:07

I think Nicola Coughlan in Derry Girls is absolutely awful.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 27/06/2022 08:59

Boris Johnson in Prime Minister's Question Time.

Never convincing.

thereisonlyoneofme · 27/06/2022 10:00

The female police inspector in McDonald and Dodds, only got one expression
James Nesbitt, totally overacts in everything

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 27/06/2022 10:56

I’ve watched Inspector Lynley in the past , but couldn’t stand whoever it was who played his sidekick - IMO the accent - to show how ‘common’ she was compared to him, was way overdone.

I dare say she was told to do it, but I found it (and her, TBH) intensely irritating.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/06/2022 11:25

Stephen Tompkinson. So wooden.

Kingston74 · 26/06/2023 22:31

Lesley Sharp - 1 facial expression for all parts and never believable in any role she iteats.
