Winding down for bed and saw that the Inspector Lynley Mysteries is being repeated on Sky. My god it’s crap. I don’t recall it being this cliched and badly acted when it was on originally.

I used to quite like this. Maybe I was just easily pleased in those days.

Cora (Elizabeth McGovern) on Downton Abbey. Her acting is so bad it hurts.

smileannie · 20/08/2019 05:08

Stuart in EastEnders. Dev in Coronation Street.
Can’t agree that a brief cameo by Ed Sheeran in GOT spoilt the whole of the rest of it. Although wish I hadn’t wasted all of those hours of my life that I can never get back with the rubbish ending.

I nominate: Tracy Barlow, Corrie and Diane Sugden, Emmerdale.

What a mean thread.
Imagine pulling yourself into work every day and doing your best job and then having people slate you for it online.

You hollyoaks viewers - surely Breda is worse than Mercedes.

Franklymydearidontgiveadam · 20/08/2019 06:42

Oh Breda yes!
Mandy Is a crap character now... Toouch facial work done. Can't move her face

EleanorReally · 20/08/2019 06:45

Holby City, unbelievably bad

Barbarafromblackpool · 20/08/2019 06:50

Can anyone in EE act? I caught a bit yesterday, it’s all so stilted.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 20/08/2019 06:57

Ian McKellen is on Corrie??Shock

0pheIiaBaIIs · 20/08/2019 07:10

Aidan Turner in Poldark. That speech he did in court on Sunday was toe-curling. Only thing he's ever been good in was Being Human.

Louise0701 · 20/08/2019 07:14

Seb in Corrie! I tend to leave the room during his scenes

Charlie in Casualty.
As decisionsindecisions said:
"I bet he can't believe his luck to have had a long term role in a prime time BBC show."

Anna Friel. Im just Shockat the work she's needlessly done on her face.
She and Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby in Corrie) used to look like twins.

ShirleyPhallus · 20/08/2019 07:17

Literally anyone on Peaky Blinders for ruining it with their hideous accents

Likewise, Spencer / Alex Hastings evil twin on PLL for the hideous hideous English accent

Redglitter · 20/08/2019 07:19

Kim Marsh on Corrie. She has one wooden facial expression she uses what ever the occasion

cantfindname · 20/08/2019 07:26

I was so pleased to see Inspector Lynley as a TV series.

Until I saw the acting.

The books are brilliant, unusual characters and great plots. What a let down.

isabellerossignol · 20/08/2019 07:31

Imagine pulling yourself into work every day and doing your best job and then having people slate you for it online.

They have specifically chosen a job where they want people to look at them, to give up their time to watch them perform. Their egos have led them to that place where they want to be the centre of attention. I don't think that means that their looks or body shape should be open to scrutiny, but their actual acting? Nah, can't muster any sympathy for that. In any case, I suspect the whole point is that they're not doing their best. Actors are often really moving and convincing in one thing and then in another it's clear they're not that interested and they don't even try. It must be hard to muster enthusiasm for the terrible story lines in Casualty, but they could at least try since they're getting paid for it.

Jessie in Emmerdale . Her acting is awful Whether she is upset, angry, happy ... her tone is exactly the same .

0pheIiaBaIIs · 20/08/2019 07:38

BBC news ,over dramatic lot of fakes and actors

Er okay 😂

PerfPower · 20/08/2019 07:41

About 25 years ago my then husband used to laugh at Charlie's acting in Casualty, as all he did was stare into the distance a lot. The other night my current husband was flicking through the channels and paused on Casualty - at Charlie staring into the distance. Agree with pp - I bet he can't believe his luck.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 20/08/2019 07:52

Anything with Trevor Eve in it.

He didn't go to acting school he went to massive overacting school.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 20/08/2019 07:54

Sharon from Eastenders.

She has this permanent kind of drama-wail-shriek to her voice. Once you hear it you can't not hear it.

(And similar to a pp and Casualty, I used to watch EE about 20 years ago when she was in it, wail-shrieking her lines away. Turned over recently and there she was again!)

TheJellyBabyMadeMeDoIt · 20/08/2019 08:04

Meghan Markle in Suits. It's very far fetched and non of the actors are going to be nominated for Oscars anytime soon, but she was bloody awful. Thank god she had other options open to her 😂

decisionsindecisions · 20/08/2019 08:07

And Seb in Coronation Street. He seems to spend all of his time trying to look brooding and shouting quite a bit.

Yes it’s a bit mean but some actors are not convincing. And at the end of the day that’s their job.
