What scent did your mum wear?

Mine wore l'Air du Temps when I was little. The scent of it takes me straight back to childhood.

I must ask the DC if there's any particular perfume that I wore that they associate with me.

I could never sleep with someone who wore Chanel No. 5 or Opium, as that's what my mum and dad respectively wore/wear! Instant turnoff.

Jean Patou "Joy"

GeorgiaGirl52 · 20/06/2019 02:38

My DS associates "4711" with me. My daughter borrowed some once and he said "You smell like Mom"! (She never borrowed it again.)

My mum wears O de Lancôme... objectivity I like the smell and find it quite comforting, but it also makes me feel a bit sick which I think is a thrown back to feeling car sick on long journeys as a child!

My mother didnt wear perfume. Neither do I. Cant stand it, gives me a headache. But my granny used to wear 4711 and i like that. Anyone remember the song from the 70s? 4711 something something like champagne on your skin....

Coty L’aimant when I was a little girl. I haven’t smelled it for years.

CarolDanvers · 20/06/2019 04:29

Chanel No 5 and then when I was older Tresor. Dad wore Aramis.

FionasWineShow · 20/06/2019 04:31

Ysatis

Myfoolishboatisleaning · 20/06/2019 04:39

Aww Georgia, why did she stop wearing it? I would have thought that was the ultimate compliment. My mum wore Samsara, it does not smell as good on me, but makes me happy every time I wear it.

1Wanda1 · 20/06/2019 04:40

Nahema by Guerlain, Coco by Chanel, L'Air Du Temps by Nina Ricci and Femme de Rochas. All such evocative scents.

OMGLongVac · 20/06/2019 04:49

Seriously tho. Imagine going out with a gorgeous, funny, smart bloke for the evening, really liking him, then as you lean in for a kiss you suddenly smell your dad. I don't think I'd be able to find my clit for a week.

Ma Griffe I think it was called - she had Opium regularly too but Ma Griffe is the one I remember most

Channel cristalle. She still wears it

SymbollocksInteractionism · 20/06/2019 06:34

Chanel not channel!

YouSetTheTone · 20/06/2019 06:38

My mum has always been a bit of a magpie with perfume but she favoured ‘green’ sort of scents when I was younger. One of my favourites was Joy by Jean Patou (not green, favourite overall I mean).

Millie2013 · 20/06/2019 06:39

My mum’s always worn Chanel no5

My grandma used to wear rive gauche and the smell always reminds me of her

OKBobble · 20/06/2019 06:40

Estee Lauder - White Linen - she still does. It makes me boak!
