It’s cold here, I want that lovely hot weather back.

Yep! I'm blood freezing Sad

purpleme12 · 26/08/2018 21:19

Can't believe people turn their heating on when it gets below 20. 20 is so warm still!

PhilomenaButterfly · 26/08/2018 21:24

I turn the heating on to dry the washing, and when I get up and it's 9°.

maxthemartian · 26/08/2018 21:27

purple I tend to have mine at 22. I'm freezing at anything below that.

theboxofdelights · 26/08/2018 21:28

Maybe we like a warm house, I know I do!

So what if it is August, 7 degrees at night is cool. It would be daft to hold off until a specific date on a calendar. The weather is not predictable from year to year ... beast from the east anyone?

A cold house/cold air affects my chest, why would I suffer it if I don’t need to?

spinn · 26/08/2018 21:31

Just kicked it on now as upstairs is cold, youngest gets nasty chest whenever he is in houses which are dampcold so first sign and we have to fire it up to try and stave off the winter inevitable hacking fest

blibblibs · 26/08/2018 22:09

Who knows!!!
We've rented lots of places and never had this.
No gas in the property so boiler is heated with electricity and costs a fortune. Even heating the water for an hour is 10Kwh so bills are never cheap.
No chance of moving just now so another cold winter on the way. I'm just hoping this is a little blib and will warm up for a while yet.

HolyMountain · 26/08/2018 22:14

I’m under a 13.5 tog duvet, it’s lovelySmile.

Justmuddlingalong · 26/08/2018 22:28

So am I, @HolyMountain. It's so snuggly and cosy. The 4.5 tog just hasn't been cutting it the last few nights.

Coconutcake0 · 26/08/2018 22:35

I have a 13.5 duvet too. I will change it to a 15 when it really cools.

Bought my 16 year old DD a new fluffy 13.5 duvet yesterday, she complained it was too heavy and hot.

Seeing she lives in bed I thought she’d love it!

purpleme12 · 26/08/2018 22:46

I'm still in my 4.5 tog! Was nice and snuggly in it

kirinm · 27/08/2018 00:43

I'm in bed with the fan on and window open. I am 39 weeks pregnant though.

Ilovemypantry · 27/08/2018 00:50

We’ve still got our 1.0 duvet on but did put the heating on this afternoon for a couple of hours just to take the chill off. Typical Bank Holiday weather!

SneakyGremlins · 27/08/2018 00:52

British Gas are refusing to fix my meter so I've got the heating on full blast 24/7 at the moment!

delphguelph · 27/08/2018 01:55

I love all this faux horror : oh I have to be freezing my bollocks off to even flick that heating switch, it needs to be icy panes and snowy boots before I'd consider not just layering up in fleece and socks blah blah ad nauseum.

Put the feckin heat on if you're cawd

AlexaAmbidextra · 27/08/2018 03:54

Yes, I did on Saturday evening. I don’t care what month it is. If I’m cold, on goes the boiler.

WilburIsSomePig · 27/08/2018 07:09

Nope I absolutely refuse to put it on until 1st October!

Yogagirl123 · 27/08/2018 07:14

No heating yet, but summer duvet back in the duvet cover, and I wore a jumper yesterday.

maxthemartian · 27/08/2018 07:24

Lack of money aside, what is the reason that some people won't put their heating on if it's not a certain date?

MeetOnTheLedge · 27/08/2018 07:32

I might put it on for a bit today as towels aren't drying but I have to say this weather is absolute bliss after the horror of the heatwave.

didyouseetheflaresinthesky · 27/08/2018 12:41

Lack of money pretty much covers it tbh

missmouse101 · 27/08/2018 13:11

Max, it's the fact that you don't need to, just put some bloody clothes on.

theboxofdelights · 27/08/2018 14:44

How does that help asthma/reaction to breathing in cold air missmouse? Would love to know so that I can keep my heating off, save cash and avoid bronchitis at the same time.

People are so flipping judgemental on here!

megletthesecond · 27/08/2018 14:47

Yes. I'm in the south.
Heating has been flicked on for an hour and I've got a thermal vest under my tracksuit.

AviatorShades · 27/08/2018 14:51

Bloody cold here at 6.00 this morning when I got out of bed. Turned the heating to FULL, so 30* then and forgot about it. About an hour ago I thought I was having a hot flush.Oops!
