i think its the rain making us feel cold and damp

Countryfile have just said the weeks forecast and next weekend Summer is returning

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 26/08/2018 19:58

Yes a few days ago. It was too cold to consider getting out of the shower with no heating Grin

CatchEmAll · 26/08/2018 20:01

You lot must be very well off to be putting the heating on in August when it's not even very cold!

Justmuddlingalong · 26/08/2018 20:02

Maybe not where you are.

PhilomenaButterfly · 26/08/2018 20:02

Yes, every morning, I need to dry the washing as well, no tumble dryer and we've had a lot of rain.

purpleme12 · 26/08/2018 20:07

I always need to dry washing but I just have to wait for days for it to dry! When I run out of space on the radiator later in the year I'll have actually put the heating on to dry them to make room for more, not because it's too cold for me!

LesLavandes · 26/08/2018 20:07

Wearing pjs and socks. Will light fire tomorrow

LesLavandes · 26/08/2018 20:08

Oh. I turned my Aga off during heat wave. Now need an engineer appointment to relight it

headinhands · 26/08/2018 20:09

Yep!

NC4Now · 26/08/2018 20:09

I’ve lit the woodburner.

Bluelonerose · 26/08/2018 20:14

Not put heating on yet but have my thick socks and long pjs on though.

BeachyUmbrella · 26/08/2018 20:15

@LesLavandes you should be able to relight it.... just turn on oil supply and wait a couple of minutes and relight in the bottom left compartment....

Log burner on here too!

blibblibs · 26/08/2018 20:19

I wish I could afford to put our crappy expensive electric heating on but that's not going to be happening at any point!
First bill when we moved in last Nov was nearly £500 for a month AngrySad

Didsomeonesaybunny · 26/08/2018 20:21

Yes - only for a few hours though. I’m staying in a Victorian at the moment and this house is very cold. My toes are all nice and toasty from the underfloor heating.

I love, love, love the start of autumn and am willing it to arrive. Here’s to dark, wintry nights!!

maxthemartian · 26/08/2018 20:25

blibblibs that's shocking! That's about six months gas & lecky for us and I put the heating on at the slightest hint of feeling chilly.

flopsyrabbit1 · 26/08/2018 20:43

blibblibs how can that be right?

didyouseetheflaresinthesky · 26/08/2018 20:44

We have at work but not at home yet. We always try to hold out till Halloween.

DrCoconut · 26/08/2018 20:44

It was cold even with a jumper on. It's why I hate autumn and winter, it's so hard and expensive to stay warm. You get that nasty chilled to the bone feeling and it doesn't properly go until better weather.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 26/08/2018 20:48

No, DH wanted to but I reminded him he was in shorts & t-shirt.
Jumpers all round!

cameltoeflappyflapflap · 26/08/2018 20:48

My heating is on. It was a bit chilly earlier on but I need it on so my washing will dry.

TokyoSushi · 26/08/2018 20:50

Yep, first time today, 11 degrees here

cushioncovers · 26/08/2018 20:56

No but have got thick socks and a jumper onSad

LightastheBreeze · 26/08/2018 21:00

I just turned the thermostat up and it kicked in at 18, I have set it at 20 it fellt so cold

RossPoldarksFloozie · 26/08/2018 21:05

We've had the heating on and off for the few weeks, I turned it down yesterday though and lit the fire. Our heating comes on when the temp drops below 18 degrees so I turned it down to 13. I miss the warm warm summer weather we've had this year.

CakeNinja · 26/08/2018 21:11

Our room thermostats are all reading between 22 and 23 degrees. All the rooms have their own to control the under floor heating but it’s programmed to click ‘on’ when the temperature drops below 20.
I’ve lit a fire instead and it’s bloody lovely!
