My son’s home from school with a fever. He's fine, just laying about.
You ask, I’ll ask, he’ll answer. Together we’ll tackle the big questions of the universe with the wisdom of a 5-year-old who’s been outsmarting me since he could talk. AMA (Ask My Apprentice).

Surely this thread can only be entertaining to the OP? Yawn

So don't read it.
Hmm

I'm really sorry @Soitis83 to mention my sons love being dads because I just read that your lovely boys' dad isn't there. Your children are extra lucky to have such a great mum in these circumstances. I should have probably read the whole thread before replying - which I still haven't done, sorry again xxx

He's fallen asleep now. Temperature went quite high and now he's very tired.

But I can answer this for him. No he does not. And I just know the advice would to be 'just keep arguing and give really silly answers to distract the mum, so the mum eventually stops asking and does it for me'.

Sigh……

Ah hope the little guy is feeling better soon ❤️

Because it isn't a dinosaur. Just like the ichthyosaurs aren't dinosaurs - dinosaur are land animals.

Guess who spent many years going to the Natural History Museum with her small children

I googled this because I didn’t believe you that pterodactyls weren’t dinosaurs, and have now learned something new!

i am loving this thead, it has brought back so many happy memories of when my child was small and all the hilarious and wonderful things they would say. There is something so refreshing about a child's eye view of the world

Edited

There was a time I could tell you the names and period of pretty much any ancient reptile you could throw at me. I put in more hours in dinosaur museums around the world than any non-professional should. I should probably have a Mary Anning long service medal or something. DS1 was very, very interested in dinosaurs.

Dinosaurs have different hip joints to lizards which allowed for much more efficient movement. As Shakira memorably put it, the hips are don't lie.

(How my son's autism diagnosis took so long is a mystery 😁 )

To turn invisible
To have unlimited Minecraft
To have unlimited mummy's
Love my mum's
Have them love me too

Disclaimer - I love him endlessly. It's more an obsession at this point. He's incredible

You’re clearly doing something right if he wants unlimited mummies❤️

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 17/09/2025 17:17

Have you even been frightened? What was it that scared you?

I already asked my question and had it answered so this is for @Soitis83 and not junior

Thank you for this brilliant thread, it's really made me smile and top parenting as a way to keep him engaged and entertained whilst you are having the poorly snuggles ❤️ I hope junior feels much better soon x

Soitis83 · 17/09/2025 18:24

Well, everyone's recent replies had this overtired mum very emotional. Thank you, so much.

He says he will answer more questions 'when I'm in the mood after my bath'. So I guess he's not quite in the mood yet.

He had a nap, slept for a long time, ate some toast and is now snuggled on the sofa. His temperature has come down after some Calpol.

Thank you everyone for acknowledging what a great little lad I have. I honestly couldn't be prouder of him if I tried. And also thank you for your kind words about me too, it's so easy to forget yourself in the midst of motherhood, or to doubt yourself and wonder if you're doing anything right. But I guess I am. Thank you, truly.

It was very entertaining to me and my son. We loved refreshing the page and he would get excited when he saw a new one. He called everyone his 'fans'.
I suppose it was entertaining to quite a few people, which brings me so much joy. It's a shame it wasn't entertaining for you, but I didn't force you to click, stay and read. You could've just looked and thought to yourself 'nah, not for me'. But instead, you decided to put some negativity onto what was meant to be an enjoyable experience for me, my son, and anyone who wanted to participate. I'm not sure why, but I hope you're okay on the inside ❤️

I was not having the best of days and the thread made me laugh and smile very very often. Smile

PestoHoliday · 17/09/2025 18:43

@Soitis83 , my carful of family driving to the funeral are definitely fans - the thread help enliven a difficult day and sparked some fun conversations.

I hope your wee man is fighting fit tomorrow, and that his days are full of chips, skittles, pb&j sandwiches and Minecraft.

(Also glad to have you spread dinosaur facts)

Oh wow this absolutely made my day. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I'm so glad my boy did for you, what he has done for me too many times. I've lost a lot of family and friends in a very short space of time, and he, along with my other two sons, have been an incredible light for me.

Who would win in a fight where they arent allowed their special weapons or outfits- just as people? Dr. Strange or Tony Stark?

Gosh, I'm about ten times the OP's son's age and I have no idea who either of these people are!
