Overall rating:
What we like
  • Ergonomically designed to hug your whole body and offer the support of several pillows in one

  • Choice of fabric covers makes it a great option all year round

  • While it is large, it offers multiple support points to cover hips, belly, back and neck

  • Our tester Amber said it helped stop her rolling onto her back, which can be dangerous after the first trimester of pregnancy

What we don't like
  • Very large so can feel a bit claustrophobic for some

  • Quite pricey

  • Our tester found that she couldn't use other pillows with it, and said it got a little cumbersome to manoeuvre as her pregnancy progressed

Overall, Amber liked the high quality feel of the Momcozy pillow. Having tested the cool-touch version over the summer months of her pregnancy, she liked the feel of the fabric but said that its overall cooling purposes were negated by the large size of the pillow which made her hotter overnight. She rated it very highly for ease of cleaning, pointing out that the removable cover washed very well in the machine, and overall she thought it offered great value for money. While the support and comfort levels were fairly good, the size of the pillow let it down for its portability score and overall multi-functionality. Since having her baby, Amber said that she hasn't found the pillow useful as a breastfeeding pillow.

How we tested the Momcozy Pregnancy Pillow

Our tester Amber tried out the Momcozy pillow over a period of several months during her second and third trimester of pregnancy. During this time she used it as her main pregnancy pillow for overnight sleep and naps, as well as a supportive cushion for resting. She took extensive notes over the testing timeframe on the pillow's usefulness in terms of bump, hip and back support, practicality and overall value for money.

How did the pillow arrive?

"The pillow came vacuum-packed," explained Amber. "So it expanded upon opening. My first impression was that it was very large!"

How do you position the pillow for sleeping?

I took my normal pillows off the bed, rested my head on the top section and then used the two long sides to support my back/bump. The longest side worked best behind my back so the ‘tail’ could go between my knees.

How do you wash the pillow?

"The cover is removable and washed well in the machine, it came with washing instructions which were easy to follow."

Does the pillow offer good support for your hips, back and bump?

Momcozy pregnancy pillow real image of pillow in testing

The fabric stays quite cool to the touch but because the pillow fully surrounds you it made me feel a bit hot overnight. I also found it cumbersome to try and adjust my sleeping position whilst using the pillow. In the end I stopped using it for nighttime and only used for naps. It did reduce how often I woke up lying on my back.
