Lily Madigan and the School Saga

Lily Madigan has been self-praising again, with more details about how they "sued" their school.

They hired a "team of solicitors", to "advice" Lily and the "principle" gave in on all their "demands".

The truth is slightly different.

Lily arrived at school wearing basically a boob tube. They were sent home because it was against uniform policy. Any girl wearing that for school would have been asked to change or go home. It's clear Lily was looking for a reason to kick things off.

Lily was not "made to wear a man's suit". They were asked to adhere to the school uniform - like any pupil. The girls wear a blazer too and can wear a skirt or trousers; many girls choose to wear trousers and the blazer.

Lily organised a petition. It was an ONLINE petition, quite different to a paper one. The support Lily claimed she had is very difficult to prove.

The school's staff tried very hard to placate Lily. They had meetings with their mother, the pastoral care team, etc - and got nowhere. It apparently caused distress to Lily's younger sister who was at school.

Lily contacted a solicitor in London. Because of the Equality Act the school did have to cater to transgender pupils - and when the school was informed of their obligations they changed their policy in accordance to the Act.

There was no suing of the school. There was no legal action, certainly no "legal battle", as Lily repeatedly claims.

There was no victimisation of Lily. Afterwards, the school said they had tried very hard for Lily and their words and actions had been deliberately twisted.

And now Lily still says that "they won", they "got it all", and that they did all this behind their parents' backs, and then "embarked on a media tour".

Lily's parents knew about it all, right from the day Lily was sent home.

It was so obvious they lied. So many people have tweeted on their posts that it's not how it went down at all.

But the followers are all so blind they could literally do anything and they will pretend it never happened

SwearyG · 24/11/2018 10:07

LM in lying and self promotion shocker.

All LM does is tell big fat porkies and then cry/claim bullying/claim hacking when the lies are exposed. I predict a social media break in 5, 4, 3...

sorenipples · 24/11/2018 10:22

So is it true , that under the equality act thr school had to let Lily use the girls changing rooms and toilets? Or was this just their interpretation /decision after risk assessment?

LizzieSiddal · 24/11/2018 10:27

I usually like to think the best of people. But LM has been found out about lying, on numerous occasions.
What I don’t understand is LM must know people can prove LM isn’t telling the truth, so how come they continue to blatantly lie again and again? Confused

Trump does the same thing.

Sore it’s their interpretation. Single sex facilities are 100% allowed, in all schools.

catkind · 24/11/2018 10:29

Wouldn't surprise me one bit, but may I ask what your source is?

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 24/11/2018 10:29

pro boner best typo ever!

I'm assuming that the account that began this thread is correct. My opinion of the actions and statements of LM in the past tends to make me believe it will be essentially true.

Please , do not assume that all trans/ transgender/ transsexual people approve of the way she goes on, or of standing as "women's officer" , and so on.

lets hope that one day, in a few years, LM will be on record as saying " I don't know what I was thinking of!" when she looks back at her youth. And she is young. And having gender dysphoria can make one make very bad decisions .

I should know.

She's a pain, isn't she? And the people who blindly support her actions are not helping.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 24/11/2018 10:43

Boob tube to school? Dear god... although having boobs I found them rather risky. Maybe they are best for the lads.

Anyway, Joan of Arc complex?

tempname111 · 24/11/2018 10:43

LM is indeed a dangerous yet damaged individual. I'm not blocked by LM as I caught on to the self ID pretty late so see all that LM posts etc. I don't interact at all (can't due to the nature of my job which is ridiculously frustrating!) and I'm on Twitter under my real name. How on EARTH the Labour Party hasn't disassociated from LM is beyond me.

The recent totally inaccurate accusation made by LM of the break in/graffiti is shocking! Even after it was disproved, LM has made no apology/retraction.

LM's behaviour with Labours support made me leave the party.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 24/11/2018 10:45

I feel sorry for the sister and brother. It must be like walking on eggshells at Christmas lunch in their house.

Charley50 · 24/11/2018 10:45

@QuietContraryMary - pro boner?! Typo? I think you slipped that one in on purpose 😂

And having gender dysphoria can make one make very bad decisions

Can you expand on this please?

user187656748 · 24/11/2018 10:56

KayM2 please don’t assume women are stupid and can’t tell the difference between the individual and the group. You’re being pretty patronising.

Oh FGS. On the rare occasion we get someone on here who is themselves trans/transgender/transsexual and who actually agrees with us, can we actually welcome that support not immediately piss them off. That would be the nice and the right thing to do. And could help the cause a whole lot more than biting their head off.

IStandWithPosie · 24/11/2018 11:00

So the school caved to all Lily’s demands and Lily was permitted to wear a boob tube to school because of girly feelz? I doubt that.

SwearyG · 24/11/2018 11:02

Really user you think that it’s helpful to have someone point out that some trans people don’t think LM is all that, like we don’t know? That’s not support. It’s a display of dominance and an attempt to set a hierarchy. You’re welcome to be blind to it, but I won’t be. It’s a pattern constantly repeated on here and it’s insulting.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 24/11/2018 11:07

Being a kid and teen can make you make bad decisions. It is crucial to have people around you who guide you along so that you don’t make a complete arse of yourself or get yourself into bad/dangerous company or situations.

I suspect Lily was spotted for their potential and helped along by some persons who thought they would be useful. Did anyone ever say ‘you are being an iriritating arse, go and study for your gcses’.

They are no longer a child - as many on here point out, at that age they were working full time, got married, had a mortgage, had kids. Youth is no excuse for nastiness and bullying.

And since Lily has a girlfriend (and I believe has had others, but no boyfriends) then without going into messy details, they are actively sexually male but outwardly want to present as female. I really dont care. They can put a teapot on their head and call themselves the Geat Gnu - I still care. But when they hound and harass women for being women - and take every opportunity to talk about their own gender identity as if we all really care - and blindly push the agenda of those who wish to erase women’s rights, then I care.

Yes. There will be a lightbulb moment in Lilys life , I have no doubt (few go through life so un self aware) - but the damage is done and bridges burned. We are not in the US when a snivelling apology ‘the devil made me do it’ will cancel all harm. There will be no ‘s’ok mate’ waiting. No hugs and tears and ‘let’s agree to get on!’.

This is the real world of grown ups.

R0wantrees · 24/11/2018 11:08

It would be interesting to know which social media platform Lily Madigan sought advice from and the role they had in directing Madigan to a solicitor ready to act, on a pro-bono basis.

Press for Change, TELI, GIRES, Mermaids, Stonewall?

No individual school blindsided by a pupil escalating contravention of uniform policy to a threat of action under the Equalities Act by a likely well prepared solicitor would be in much of a position to take on such a law suit.
The needs of a younger sibling, also a pupil, would also have been very relevent.

I have wondered if the school was an academy

Thingybob · 24/11/2018 11:11

Ok I know I'm a nobody on here so my opinion doesn't really count. But..

I'm not really up on who is who on here and there are only a couple of user names for whom I have developed a mental image. KayM2 is one and she always strikes me as being so reasonable and polite, someone I'd enjoy having lunch with.
