Lily Madigan and the School Saga

Lily Madigan has been self-praising again, with more details about how they "sued" their school.

They hired a "team of solicitors", to "advice" Lily and the "principle" gave in on all their "demands".

The truth is slightly different.

Lily arrived at school wearing basically a boob tube. They were sent home because it was against uniform policy. Any girl wearing that for school would have been asked to change or go home. It's clear Lily was looking for a reason to kick things off.

Lily was not "made to wear a man's suit". They were asked to adhere to the school uniform - like any pupil. The girls wear a blazer too and can wear a skirt or trousers; many girls choose to wear trousers and the blazer.

Lily organised a petition. It was an ONLINE petition, quite different to a paper one. The support Lily claimed she had is very difficult to prove.

The school's staff tried very hard to placate Lily. They had meetings with their mother, the pastoral care team, etc - and got nowhere. It apparently caused distress to Lily's younger sister who was at school.

Lily contacted a solicitor in London. Because of the Equality Act the school did have to cater to transgender pupils - and when the school was informed of their obligations they changed their policy in accordance to the Act.

There was no suing of the school. There was no legal action, certainly no "legal battle", as Lily repeatedly claims.

There was no victimisation of Lily. Afterwards, the school said they had tried very hard for Lily and their words and actions had been deliberately twisted.

And now Lily still says that "they won", they "got it all", and that they did all this behind their parents' backs, and then "embarked on a media tour".

Lily's parents knew about it all, right from the day Lily was sent home.

Man Friday's account of changing sex marker on driving licence:

(extract)
"Well, I don’t intend changing my name at all, so have no need to send in any documents. On with the form, which is pretty straightforward, except for not having an option anywhere for changing gender! Undeterred I crossed out ‘name’ and replaced it with ‘gender’ in the options list, and in the blank box wrote the explanation “I self-identify as male. Please change the gender identity marker on my driving licence.”

This was really important. I had no wish to lie on an official form. I was not changing my sex, I was self-identifying a gender identity. I really felt affinity with masculine stereotypes when I signed the form.

So, for the price of a second class stamp I waited to see what DVLA would do…

Roll forward three weeks and my new driving licence arrived! Really…no…they wouldn’t…surely not? Check the seventh character, and it’s zero! I’m officially male – with the same feminine first name, and the title Ms."

Has JP responded to this at all ?

Katvonbatshitmermaid · 10/01/2019 06:32

Some classics from LM overnight

Everyone who likes Jess Phillips is transphobic. At which point are labour going to protect women from this behaviour? I would have thought it slanderous?

Secondly. LM transforms into the trans super hero ine we all didn't know we needed - gently poking a toilet door open with her foot. That's great. Well done. Star

Louise Flowers so sorry you’re having a shit time with all this. You are telling the truth about things which in this aggressively sexist, homophobic authoritarian climate is very difficult to do but hope you know that so many women are behind you.

If I was Jess Philips I wouldn't be responding on Twitter, I'd be responding through my solicitors.

dillydallyXX · 10/01/2019 09:23

From what I've seen of Jess on TV I doubt very much she'd be intimidated by Madigan's 'fake kicking the door down with their tippy toes while taking a selfie' pose!

I've been to a talk by Jess & have her book, and I'm sure she wouldn't!

As for LM's tweet about kicking down barriers with no violence, yeah right.

I don't know if I'm giving LM too much credit with this theory, but here goes.

From memory, we've previously speculated here that Jess is the kind of sensible woman who would probably share some of our views, but when asked she has stated she's firmly in the TWAW camp. By challenging her on this, LM will force her to repeat TWAW even more firmly, thus binding Jess to that side of the argument even more firmly.

Jess is busy MP'ing today judging by her twitter.

As an aside, I see LM's feet are carefully out of shot in the toilet door selfie....

Tinsel I think you may be right. MPs are so caught up with Brexit but there's a great deal going on to ensure that parties are fully on board with trans-lobby demands.

NUS Trans Conference19 has identified the need to lobby all parties and politicians.

That selfie made me laugh: it looks like a person who has just washed their hands and is fearful of touching the door.

dillydallyXX · 10/01/2019 16:03

Madigan: middle-class upbringing, faith school, regular foreign holidays growing up, student at Goldsmiths, corporate sponsorship, and their entire life living in the UK, one of the most richest and safest countries in the world.

Yes, such an oppressed life.

Oh, no, not the pregnancy thing again.

Madigan wants a baby.

Go on then. Have a baby (if you really must, babies are better than rabies, but only just) sorry had to follow through with than one.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 10/01/2019 17:12

Now Madigan is parodying h**self. Yawn.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/01/2019 17:16

Who exactly telling them that they must have a baby? It’s just not physically possible. It’s really not. Well not the way a mum has a baby. Maybe the way a dad has a baby though.

'Transphobia relies on capitalism' what?

R0wantrees · 10/01/2019 17:34

'Transphobia relies on capitalism' what?

article by Sue Donym

'Inauthentic Selves: The modern LGBTQ+ Movement Is Run By Philanthropic Astroturf And Based On Junk Science'
concludes:
The influence these large foundations and their funders have on our politics cannot be underestimated, and it needs to be questioned. The transgender civil rights movement consists of (i) large numbers of astroturf organizations funded by billionaires with financial interest in its success, (ii) medical professionals who stand to gain from ‘selling’ transgenderism to the public (and who are happy to lie to the public about their treatments) and (iii) pharmaceutical companies that appear to be engaging in illegal off-label marketing with said medical professionals. The question of what came first-the foundations, the pharmaceutical companies, or the medical professionals -is like asking whether the chicken or the egg came first. But the fact of the matter is, all three groups stand to benefit from the transgender civil rights movement. No transgender person does. With no unbiased research, they cannot get the answers they need to treat their condition effectively. They are left stranded and marooned, with an entire movement dedicated to foisting drugs upon them, instead of finding an actual cure or treatment for gender dysphoria. When ‘transition’ is complete and they are left a castrated eunuch, with no more steps up the Bridge To Total Freedom, their suicidality does not decrease. With an incomplete path to salvation, they are told they can chase after something they can never realize. They are obliterated as a distinct legal class of people by self-identification legislation — the legal ramifications of which could set trans rights back years, which has been raised by gender critical trans activists such as Miranda Yardley.

The modern transgender movement is an astroturf tiger. It is not grassroots, it is not organic, and it serves the purposes of no one beyond homophobes and pharmaceutical companies. It is a menace, it has hollowed out the LGBT community, it threatens women’s legal gains for the past hundred years, and it is going to destroy people’s lives. An entire generation of gender non-conforming children that may have otherwise grown up gay are going to grow up to be brain damaged, weakened eunuchs with a medical malpractice lawyer on retainer. This ‘movement’ needs to end before that happens. The LGBT community needs to wake up and start talking back to the fox in the hen house."

I completely get ii) and iii). Who/what are the astroturf organisations in point i) and what do they stand to gain? I'm not doubting that this is true, but I can't quite see how companies/billionaires outside of medical professionals and big pharma will make money. Can someone explain or point me to a link?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/01/2019 18:34

Typo?

Things are often topsy turvey though. Whilst Lily may claim that transphobia relies on capitalism, the article demonstrates that it is trans-ideology which relies on capitalism.

I wouldn't ever want to guess what LM means though
