Lily Madigan and the School Saga

dillydallyXX · 24/11/2018 09:50

Lily Madigan has been self-praising again, with more details about how they "sued" their school.

They hired a "team of solicitors", to "advice" Lily and the "principle" gave in on all their "demands".

The truth is slightly different.

Lily arrived at school wearing basically a boob tube. They were sent home because it was against uniform policy. Any girl wearing that for school would have been asked to change or go home. It's clear Lily was looking for a reason to kick things off.

Lily was not "made to wear a man's suit". They were asked to adhere to the school uniform - like any pupil. The girls wear a blazer too and can wear a skirt or trousers; many girls choose to wear trousers and the blazer.

Lily organised a petition. It was an ONLINE petition, quite different to a paper one. The support Lily claimed she had is very difficult to prove.

The school's staff tried very hard to placate Lily. They had meetings with their mother, the pastoral care team, etc - and got nowhere. It apparently caused distress to Lily's younger sister who was at school.

Lily contacted a solicitor in London. Because of the Equality Act the school did have to cater to transgender pupils - and when the school was informed of their obligations they changed their policy in accordance to the Act.

There was no suing of the school. There was no legal action, certainly no "legal battle", as Lily repeatedly claims.

There was no victimisation of Lily. Afterwards, the school said they had tried very hard for Lily and their words and actions had been deliberately twisted.

And now Lily still says that "they won", they "got it all", and that they did all this behind their parents' backs, and then "embarked on a media tour".

Lily's parents knew about it all, right from the day Lily was sent home.

Sorry thingy
I should have used speech marks for sure!
Lily's "Sure start campaign" or something...
Or lily "desperately trying to prove lily cares about women campaign"

calpop · 24/11/2018 12:55

Catholic. What a surprise. You will go to hell for being homosexual but its ok if there was a mistake and you are "trapped in the wrong body". Seems religion has even more to answer for. Many of the other prominent TRAs are the priduct of a catholic upbringing I note.

RepealTheGRA · 24/11/2018 13:02

The Pope thinks transgenderism is a ‘demonic ideology’.

R0wan I could rant for even longer on the subject of safeguarding issues with Academies than I could on this shitshow.

MyAuntyBadger · 24/11/2018 13:14

I believe Madigan is of very low intellect and that explains all of their behaviour. From being exploited to struggling with reality and truth.

MyAuntyBadger · 24/11/2018 13:16

Calpop Who are the prominent TRAs with a catholic upbringing?

LangCleg · 24/11/2018 13:18

It's an absolute disaster, isn't it? And so utterly, utterly predictable.

Tara Hewitt is an anti abortion/anti IVF Catholic TRA for a kick off..

R0wantrees · 24/11/2018 13:23

Who are the prominent TRAs with a catholic upbringing?

Tara Hewitt (co founder of TELI, influential with NHS services, Social Care, Higher Education etc) has talked about her Catholicism in an
interview 2016:
(extract)
"And, although experiencing negativity from some Catholics, Tara claims this is society’s problem.

“In religion one of the biggest challenges is people perceive the church as being separate from society, but most would say their faith is made by the people in it.

“People don’t know about trans issues, it’s not that catholics are discriminating against trans people, its just that society is discriminating against transpeople.”

She also claims the bible doesn’t focus on gender.

“With the bible there is more of a discussion on sexuality but God doesn’t have a gender - God isn’t male or female, they are both.

“When we talk about God, he’s above that.”

Tara, who lives in New Brighton, is also a pansexual, which means she is attracted to any gender.

But, although she supports gay marriage and same-sex adoption, she doesn’t believe in IVF.

“None of my views are based on sexual orientation I support love.

“Millions of people share my view but, because they aren’t trans, they aren’t targetted.

“It’s hard being right wing and trans, I get attacked from both sides.”

Tara was on the Conservative Party candidate list in the last election and came under fire when a Sun report ‘revealed’ her sexual fetishes.

Hewitt reportedly described herself as an “advocate of the BDSM (bondage, discipline and sadomasochism) community”, and into “swinging” and “pet play”, which is dressing up as an animal for sex." (continues)

I’ve come to the conclusion that Lily invents a narrative to suit her needs. She has constantly spoken about how she was estranged from her family/ no contact etc yet in October 2018 was posting selfies in the same bedroom (distinctive wallpaper) as when she was “suing her school”. The fact and fiction of their life is so confused I don’t think they can differentiate.

I fel sorry for her sister who must be around A level age - it must be tough on her.

R0wantrees · 24/11/2018 13:26

RepealTheGRA
I would certainly join you.
I was a school governor many years ago and we held off despite considerable pressures for exactly these reasons.
It was especially significant for the school due to needs of pupils.

RepealTheGRA · 24/11/2018 13:44

The last thing on the radar of Academies is ‘needs of the pupils’. It’s all about money, a select few are profiting and advancing their own careers. In some ways the rush to trans children is a symptom not the cause of the current wholesale failure to adequately safeguard children. The mental health of adolescents is appalling, the funding and functionality of CAMHS is beyond a joke. This has all been caused by the utter failure of adults to get ahead of the internet and social media and adequately safeguard and educate the next generation. Everybody should be hanging their heads in shame at this point, we have horrendously failed our children. Sad

One thing I don't quite get about Lily is the timeframe. They are 21 now - all this school stuff happened over the summer of 2016 (when school wasn't even in term) - so that makes Lily 19 at the time. Surely they would have left college by then.

OP posts:
calpop · 24/11/2018 13:57

Shon Faye, often writes about their catholic upbringing

FeminaSum · 24/11/2018 14:01

dillydallyXX Lily stayed at school for a third year of sixth form after having failed Lily's exams.

dillydallyXX · 24/11/2018 14:15

And regarding Lily now saying that they did all this in secret and their parents knew nothing about it, here is an excerpt from an article at the time, the day Lily turned up in the inappropriate top:

"Madigan didn’t go straight home – she was worried she would be in trouble with her mother, so she left the school grounds and wandered round the shops, stalling for time until the inevitable conversations had to happen. By the time she returned home, the school had already phoned her mother to invite them both in for a meeting the following day"

Also, Lily is now saying that they took a train to London and went round different solicitors' offices, knocking on door after door after door. The truth is:

And that was when she phoned a lawyer.

"Madigan looked on Google for appropriate solicitors, and rang up the firm Leigh Day, based in London, which specialises in equality issues"

I would not be surprised if Madigan was aware of possible legal options beforehand. Perhaps like many teenagers spent the summer holidays on t'interweb.

There's a danger this presents like the old Yellow Pages adverts.

It would be incredible if LM was not having converations online in trans supportive places where there would be a great deal of 'advice' and support.

BreakWindandFire · 24/11/2018 15:11

Does Lily tell their girlfriend that they are in a lesbian relationship, because that seems a bit 'gas-lighty'?

dillydallyXX · 24/11/2018 15:13

I think Lily, who has said she is a "proud lesbian woman", has had two lesbian relationships. And one she was very happy with as it was a "power butch" set-up.

OP posts:
OlennasWimple · 24/11/2018 15:29

LM has absolutely been influenced by the internet

There's a BBC video diary thing from 2016 (shortly after the school kerfuffle) that shows LM going to a gender clinic for the first time and also speaking about transitioning more generally. LM clearly talks about using the bathroom of choice - a very American turn of phrase, rather than "toilet", or "loo"

calpop · 24/11/2018 17:15

Also recently talking about their "Principle" having to give into their demands. Very American, though doesn't realise it should be Principal

VickyEadie · 24/11/2018 17:18

To be fair, many academies in Egland now call the head the 'Principal'.

But you're right that LM ought to know how to spell it.

VickyEadie · 24/11/2018 17:18

England (I do* know how to spell it!)
