Hi,

Thought I'd start the new thread ready for tomorrow. I am aiming to be 9st1 by the end of March, have decided to be ambitious for once.

Ooh hello.
Still the same as two weeks ago but doing well so far. Sugar free day today, fruit muesli and Greek yoghurt for breakfast.

Thank you for the new thread. Can't believe it's March. A whole year of Covid lockdown.

Not weighing in after birthday weekend. But this time last year I was around 30lbs heavier.

Shuffling in to the new thread with a shortened name. February was not a great month but I've maintained at around 60-61kg. I've been so hungry this past week and my period has started today so that's why. The PMT has been awful this time. But, onwards and upwards on the goals but downwards on the scales!
Happy Spring everyone!

Thanks for the new thread!

I had a decent weekend. Only managed to scrape 10,000 steps each day because going at toddler pace takes twice as long for half the steps! But food under 1400 both days. And plenty of fresh air.

I'm in shock it's March. Between dieting and Covid restrictions, I feel like I'm wishing away my mat leave. I need to work out how to enjoy 'now' before it's all gone.

Well done Nutella, that's an amazing loss.

I'm interested to see how being back at school impacts my weight as I'll be walking 5 miles per day minimum Monday to Friday. Meals will be more structured too. Yesterday I did 15000 steps as we went on a local walk along the canal. It was such a beautiful day and we really enjoyed it. We are going for another walk today after school. The nice weather makes such a difference to my motivation to get out and about and I feel less sluggish in general.

February was a good month for me and I (re) lost about 9lbs. Would love to do the same in March. First goal is to get back to where I was pre-winter lockdown fail which is 4 or 5lbs away and then to get past that.

Have a 2 hour curriculum meeting with my department over google meet today plus an hour live support for a class first so steps are not going to be easy.

Just remembered I have beef in the fridge that needs using so going to start off a slow cooker stew before I'm stuck to the laptop.

Woo! I feel quite happy about this. I got my Fitbit on June 23rd last year so 8000 floors seems a good achievement. Food so-so today, I've not added it up. How has everyone's day been?

I found Ben and Jerry's good for that today 🥴

Hi There

I am a regular user but have name changed for this...
I am weighing in at 11 stone 5 today and I'm ambitiously hoping to be 10 stone 8 at the end of the month.

I have downloaded MyFitnessPal app, I want to be accountable for everything I eat, I always forget about the snacks and the children's left overs! I also want to do 10k steps per day and hopefully fit in a small run a couple of times a week!

Good Luck All

I feel guilty sharing this flattered. Barely moved today due to stuck in online meetings. Seems being fat burns a lot more calories

Morning all, weigh day fo me after first week back on it. Lost 2lbs! Yey! Some will be initial bloat from not dieting for a while I guess but still pleased.

Been pretty focused, mostly avoiding the sugary snacks! Just a couple planned in ones.

I love to join! I think I've realised that weekly weighing is no good for me and really quite de motivating, so I'm going to try not weighing till the end of the month. Would like the scales to say 10'4 then (would be an 8lb ish loss). I'm going to focus on one good day at a time. Will try not to be de railed by my birthday this month!

Welcome @brightgreenapple and @Restlessinthenorth. Sounds like everyone is having some really good losses. Managed to not snack or eat in front of devices yesterday, 9st3.5 so pleased that its going the right way. DS2 has got his first High School choice as well which is a relief.

I didn't have any Ben and Jerry's, I should probably not keep Nutella in the house either tbh!

Welcome newbies, @brightgreenapple, I started out a couple of lbs heavier than you and have surprised myself by getting to under 10 stone although not in a short time scale as you have set. @Restlessinthenorth best of luck, birthdays are a big challenge as I found last weekend!

I would caution against setting time scale related weight goals if you can help it as you just can't control weight loss in such a specific way. It can be frustratingly non-linear! What you can control is your behaviour so agree with Jordan Syatt when he recommends to set consistency goals. Like aiming to be consistently exercising or eating to a calorie or nutrition goal. Best of luck Smile

@NutellaEllaElla Wow! Well done you. That is really good to hear. May I ask how long it took you to reach under 10 stone, and what you did to get to that weight? Have you found it easy to maintain?

I am working today but really hoping to get on the treadmill after wards, there's no excuse!

Hi newbies! I hope you find this thread helpful and supportive.
Feeling pretty rotten today with period pain and I can feel the bloat in my thighs. We are going on another walk along the canal today so that will mean I meet my step goals. I'm looking forward to getting back to the school run. As long as I don't start eating more to compensate for the calories burned then I should see a few pounds come off quite quickly. Once a week I might take a big detour that should add a couple of miles to the morning school run. I really want to work on toning up my arms and belly this month ready for summer. Does anyone have any recommendations for things I can do at home?
Have a great day everyone!

It took 3-4 months to get to 10 stone and that felt quick to me but I am tall at 5'9. I calculated how many calories I burn in a typical day which is known as your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) you can do that here, then subtracted 500 a day for my calorie goal which over a week should equate to 1lb a week which is reasonable. I used My Fitness Pal to log my food but Lose It or other apps will use a similar method. I also started walking quite fast every evening.

Maintenance is a rollercoaster....I now calorie cycle so I eat a little less than maintenance during the week so I can relax more on the weekend. That's fine, it's the holidays which make me fluctuate the most but overall, it's not been too bad. It's mostly about managing my own anxiety about ruining all my hard work.

What do you mean by toning @FlatteredFool? My understanding was that you can't spot reduce fat in specific areas. If you're talking about building a bit of muscle, how about press ups, weights, sit ups etc? Youtube videos focusing on legs bums and tums, yoga videos that kind of thing?

I hope you get through period related ailments without resorting to sugar as I did yesterday!

Well done hangover and octopus.

I've had a whoosh that I'd love to hold onto but we'll see.

Welcome and welcome back.

@NutellaEllaElla I can really get where you're coming from! I am hoping for a kick start these next couples of weeks and then I think I'll be happier losing pounds slower once I'm into my 10's.

It's incredible just those few pounds extra make me feel so bloated and heavy, and all my clothes feel that bit more snug!

What have you been snacking on today?

I've just got home from work, going to do a quick clean and run/walk depending on my energy levels! Ha ha
