Hi,

Thought I'd start the new thread ready for tomorrow. I am aiming to be 9st1 by the end of March, have decided to be ambitious for once.

I didn't do my Pilates today so I think I will do that tomorrow instead.

Octopus37 · 26/03/2021 09:39

@drspouse hope you feel better soon, my Sister gets a lot o headaches and I think she finds that she really needs to eat more sugar when it happens. Hope everyone feels better next week. Think its been a week of being in the wars

I am better this morning but it's been tipping it down so it's Pilates rather than bike ride for sure.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 26/03/2021 10:18

Hi all, checking in for accountability, I'm enjoying just not thinking too much about it. I've managed to keep up good activity which I'm happy about. Weighed in same as 2 weeks ago, 9st1.75 so I'm happy with that. Will catch up on your posts, hope you're all doing OK.

TheHoneyBadger · 26/03/2021 10:36

Morning. Good luck today Nutella! I didn't get mine but semi relieved. I had similar with sinuses for over a decade. It might not be that docs don't take it seriously but that they're aware that most surgical type treatments cause even worse problems very often.

An optician of all people explained to me that infections can last for years because the sinuses have so little blood supply so it's hard for antibiotics to really reach the area. Have you tried netti with sterile saline solution and steaming etc? Also hot and cold compresses to the area? It's awful I know.

I'm a sliver, just a sliver mind, under 14st. Was terrified to get on the scales this morning thinking I'd have gained. Have lost just over 12lbs since February and am nearly back to where I was before winter regain. AND hopefully the gym will be open again soon.

NutellaEllaElla · 26/03/2021 12:12

Think I bombed the interview Sad

Interesting information about infections there. I have tried the netti pot, I really hated the sensation and didn't find any dramatic benefits. I didn't know about surgical treatments.

Well done on your progress Smile

TheHoneyBadger · 26/03/2021 12:16

You never know. I did great in my interview and they want to use my ideas but gave the job to someone else Confused

NutellaEllaElla · 26/03/2021 12:37

er wtf!!! That's infuriating.

TheHoneyBadger · 26/03/2021 15:05

Yeah. I may have failed to control my facial expression momentarily

NutellaEllaElla · 26/03/2021 16:29

I think that's really bad behaviour on their part.

On the plus side I haven't been able to face any food since breakfast.

TheHoneyBadger · 26/03/2021 20:49

I made us really tasty steaks with green veg for lunch. Later snacked on quite a few Doritos with ds as I was craving salty stuff. Have also had a few g&ts. Celebrating end of term.

Think I must be low on iron as my body loved the steak so much. It was good though ds declared it the best I'd made even though I have to overcook his. I need to up the amount of protein we've been eating and remember how much he is growing.

drspouse · 27/03/2021 08:34

With such a bad week, not surprisingly I've put a lb on. Today is another day... Bike ride this afternoon.

TheHoneyBadger · 27/03/2021 08:47

Enjoy the bike ride spouse.

Scales pretty steady. I'm probably going to make a stew today for the filling, nutritious but low in calories benefits. Lots of veg to use up too.

drspouse · 27/03/2021 09:34

Stew - excellent plan - we have 100 carrots to eat.

Octopus37 · 27/03/2021 13:25

@TheHoneyBadger massive well done on your weight loss. @NutellaEllaElla you could be surprised by how you've done, hope you are feeling better. Just off to the park for a walk with my youngest DS to meet a friend

OP posts:
TheHoneyBadger · 27/03/2021 15:16

Thanks.

Stew is in the slow cooker but won't be ready for hours and hours which is probably a good thing. I'm sad for no reason and cried at something I was watching earlier so I'm guessing pmt - day 25 which means nothing nowadays as my cycles could be 20 days or could be 30.

I'm meant to have had bloods done for thyroid and vit d ages ago. Might see if I can add hormones to the list and get them done over the holidays.

NutellaEllaElla · 27/03/2021 15:54

Sounds like you're really going through it Badger.
Had my second jab today, plus have sinus problems still, plus period pains. What a day Grin

DH wants Nando's. Bastard. My usual favourite meal would be 1200 which is just insane. It's the Halloumi in the Fino pita which really sends it over the top. I'm settling for a regular pitta with chips which is 800 total and a bit easier to fit in to a weekend day calorie target.

NutellaEllaElla · 27/03/2021 15:55

I didn't get the job by the way. Critique was exactly as expected which is fine.

TheHoneyBadger · 27/03/2021 16:11

Sorry Nutella. Let's try and believe it's because better things are just around the corner for us and those crappy jobs would've gotten in the way Wink

I've woken up slight annoyed and thinking about it every morning since and having to have a word with myself to let it go.

Overweight · 27/03/2021 19:08

Sorry to hear about the jobs @NutellaEllaElla and @TheHoneyBadger. I'm a firm believer in everything happening for a reason and every day leads towards whatever is next, even if it doesn't always feel like it.

I've been way down on steps in the last few days. Firstly had too many jobs to do at home and then today's walk was at toddler pace. Still we got some nice views and I was carrying the toddler and then the baby which won't be reflected in the steps!

Ruddy MFP isn't working properly!! I made the Pinch of Nom Beef Stroganoff for tea but didn't have quite the right quantities so I wanted to log it all and see if I'll have any room for a drink this evening!

Octopus37 · 28/03/2021 09:41

@NutEllaElla and @TheHoneyBadger there are better things ahead for you, as @Overweight says, things happen for a reason, although it doesn't always feel like it. I've been a bit down on steps the last couple of days. Weighed 9st4.75 this morning.

TheHoneyBadger · 28/03/2021 09:43

Thanks it was vast amounts of extra work for very little extra money and no allocated time for the additional responsibility so some relief and awareness it's for the best but still a bit gutting.

In better news 13:13 bang on. After I lost a stone and a half last year this is about where I stayed at (bouncing between 13:12 and 14:1) after I went back to work and then gym closures and winter kicked in. So I'm back to that weight but with the beginnings of spring ahead of me so hopefully I can keep going now.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 28/03/2021 10:14

Sorry to hear that Nutella and Honeybadger. I have so many crappy experiences in the last few years and I can honestly say I have looked back on every one saying 'wow can't believe I'm glad that didn't happen after all', it will work out. Going through something stressful and maddening again at the moment but I now know I will be OK, it will be OK, it will work out. Hard bloody going though. My fitbit strap has disintegrated Sad seems like havre to replace the whole thing, it's the side with the buckle.

TheHoneyBadger · 29/03/2021 00:07

Semi off the rails today.

I had a bowl of leftover stew then later made ds a ready meal macaroni cheese that he said he wanted but then turned his nose up and I stupidly didn't want to see it go to waste. Stodgy waste of calories.

I've also had a few beers.

Oh well official weigh is not till late in the week.

NutellaEllaElla · 29/03/2021 08:47

I tried this recipe from a Pinch of Nom book last night. It was super tasty. I'd consider padding it out with some more veg. Definitely going to do it again.
