Ha ha @ title

Evening all.

I’ve been trying out loads of the complete tat and weirdo buys in my collection this week , as I’ve been selling off loads of my FBs on eBay in a bid to streamline my collection into Perfumes I Really Love. So trying to ascertain what needs to go...

I wore Britney Spears Fantasy The Naughty Remix today 😆. Sure it would be up on eBay by evening, as I’ve sold off most of my celeb frags and this just looks and sounds like the ultimate PM. But no...the white chocolate/marzipan/musk was strangely pleasing today. Toothachingly sweet, mind you...but strangely comforting. I wore it to a very serious conference about youth violence and it kept me going all day. I’m keeping it a bit longer...and have a feeling it would be a nice cold weather/Christmas fragrance.

I’m in JLO L.A. Glow tonight 😆 Hate the original Glow - that soapy musk just nauseates me. Similar to SJP Lovely. Not a fan. But this is nice. A sort of zesty grapefruity zing with musky drydown. Who’d have thought? Wore it to anniversary dinner with DH tonight, eschewing lovely Diorissimo, which was my original thought. Bugger didn’t notice my perfume anyway.

Grin

Old Thread

Have been working on using up samples so SotD is London to Mumbai again, just enough left for tomorrow. Then it is back to the last of Cape Heartache.

The only JLO I liked is Still, an innocuous work perfume but quite wearable.

Thank you Pest. I had to look up that reference. .

BlueKittens · 14/06/2018 23:48

Me too MrsLucas (its a wonderful quote from the Simpsons in case anyone is wondering).

Am tucked up in bed, doused in Silk Lace and Chocolate- a 4160 best confined to home imo, it’s like my guilty pleasure - I love it Blush

BlueKittens · 14/06/2018 23:49

Thank you Pest

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 15/06/2018 04:53

Hello! Happy New thread 😁

Had to wear Bronze Goddess last night to see if it was the horrible perfume from that other thread. Didn't get any pineapple so thinking not...

Although I did possibly annoy some fellow train passengers the day before since SotD was Chanel 22. I really like it but it's such a powerhouse - I rarely don't need to respray but this one's such a powerhouse. Tempted to go for it again today for another London trip...

mrsreynolds · 15/06/2018 06:56

Its friiiiiiday!

Sotd mrsgloss indoors. Its so yummy.

I'm on a no buying ban til after the summer now :(

OCSock · 15/06/2018 09:24

Bagging my place drops towel on sunlounger. Thanks Pest!

BlueKittens · 15/06/2018 10:15

4160 Tuesdays Sex Goddess today 😍

UnnecessaryFennel · 15/06/2018 11:00

Lanvin Cardamome courtesy of MrsL. Starts with a photo-realistic scent-image of my grandmother's bathroom in the 70s, all powder and Oil Of Ulay, then moves into a spicy, well, cardamom. Fairly linear in the dry down but really quite lovely. Enjoying it muchly, in fact may even go and respray to enjoy those nostalgic top notes again!

mrsreynolds · 15/06/2018 11:04

Lovely parcel from sock today :)

PW girl..oooh it's lovely!! Thank you x

I will have 9mls (with about 7ml left) of both 4160 mrsgloss outdoors and indoors once my FBs arrive if anyone wants them?

The silage on both is great - unusual for 4160 ime.

auberginesrus · 15/06/2018 11:13

Hello all, am at the airport on the way to Dublin for a treaty weekend with dh - thanks to in law's for holding the fort at home Grin

Have had a good browse of duty free and come away with a lovely Hermes miniature set which gas Eau Dr Rhubarb, Eau de Meivilles, Reilly and Jour d'hermes in it.

auberginesrus · 15/06/2018 11:14

Twilly rather than Reilly!

mrsreynolds · 15/06/2018 11:28

Enjoy!

I love Dublin

OCSock · 15/06/2018 12:46

Nice coffret there, Aubergines; not a dud in the box!

SoTD is Sycomore, or at least the PP dupe of it. Sadly not one of their best efforts, although the first burst of scent is good, there's no longevity or sillage whatsoever. So I shall put something else over it later.

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 15/06/2018 13:09

Thanks for the new thread. SOTD Tom Ford Mandarino di Amalfi acqua. Packing for a weekend away at a wedding. Not sure which perfumes to take. Thinking maybe Chanel gardenia (I have a generous sample) but also considering sycamore.

TeenyFloofyKittensMakeMeCry · 15/06/2018 13:19

I assumed the thread title was something related to the indoctrination of our Cult of Perfume here Grin

That thread about the PM perfume on public transport also made me smile, my vote also for those terrible sweet overpriced body sprays which seem to intersect (is that the right word) with our 15yr olds on the Venn Diagram. My DD has one in a clear bottle and the liquid actually is bright neon pink Hmm

Sock I think I offloaded my PP Sycomore as well. Bit meh.

Aubergines have a fab time in Dublin! I wonder if Brown Thomas still have a fab beauty department and what perfumes they stock. How sad that I automatically think of that and not Temple Bar Grin I'm getting old!

SOTD is the remnants of freebie NR Rouge, I love it and am desperate to get my paws on some, sadly there doesn't seem to be any decants or samples about yet so I'll have to get a FB. Unfortunately eBay seems dead for selling atm so my perfume fund is very low!

Teta I have PMed you Smile

TeenyFloofyKittensMakeMeCry · 15/06/2018 13:19

Sorry, it's Floofy, I fancied a NC for the new thread but thought if I kept it cat related it wouldn't confuse everyone and me Grin

Started off in Mandarino di Amalfi Aqua, but have gone back to Cardomome to find the Oil of Ulay notes Grin!

Funny, I find the opening quite bitter, and yes, borderline oily/lotion-like, in a medicinal kind of way. Then my favourite bit, it opens out into something that manages to straddle three things at once; cool green, dry aromatic woods and spicy, ambery powder (yes, I think there are cloves there Calm). I'm really enjoying it. The dry aromatic woods feel like a long lost ancestor of Sahara Noir. PM me if you would like to try a little.

mrsreynolds · 15/06/2018 13:55

Mrsgloss outdoors gone
Indoors still available

UnnecessaryFennel · 15/06/2018 14:20

MrsL you and I must be on some weird perfumista wavelength today - having started off in Cardamome, as you know, I've now switched to MoV Mandarin Carnival Grin

Against my better judgement I find I really rather enjoy this. It's undoubtedly a floral-fruity, one of my least favourite scent groups, but it's done with some flair and gumption. Usually citrus-based perfumes don't last 5 mins on me but this one has definite staying power. Overpriced though, even with those lovely glass bottles...
