Mrsr dp keeps saying that it won't even happen - I wish I could believe him. He's completely anti-Brexit but seems rather naive about it all. I'm starting to really worry.

Sorry for the detail, just feeling a bit despondent. I hope you can sort things out.

UnnecessaryFennel · 17/07/2018 19:48

So Flowerbomb arrived from scent addict. I really like it! DS told me I smelled of strawberries!
Irritatingly the package had obviously been opened prior to arrival. There was no documentation but the atomiser and scent were there. I suspect the scent wasn’t as full as perhaps it should have been. I’ve taken photos and emailed the company so we’ll see what they say.
Anyone any experience? Does this happen a lot with that company or was I just unlucky? It’s obviously a problem with the courier not them but the fact the box has scent addict on it probably adds to the temptation....

AdoraBell · 17/07/2018 20:06

Used a different scent today. Not even sure of the name but it’s a bit similar to Paris. I bought it over 15 years, maybe even 20, ago in Grasse, South of France.

I’m also worried about Brexit. DH keeps trying to tell me it will all work out, but he is looking at moving to an EU country. We’be only been home for 3 years.

Judydreamsofhorses · 17/07/2018 20:54

SOTD MMM Beach Walk. This was better on a glorious saturday, for an actual beach walk, than on a drizzly Tuesday.

Also in Brexit despair here, although I am inclined to agree that it probably won’t ever happen, fennel.

In brighter news, I took delivery of an amazing Bella Freud jumper today, via the NAP sale. I have a few already via eBay and the Fred Perry collaborations, but this one is brand new and so perfect.

PersisFord · 17/07/2018 22:01

I agree that Brexit is grim. I see the effects of it everywhere. Can’t even bear to read the news, have a kind of terrified fatalism about it.

In other news....I smell like a sweetie shop! This is the 4160Tuesday Rhubarb and Custard. When I first squirted it it was very Amsterdam Grin but that seems to have faded and now I have mostly custard but with a tart edge. It’s lovely....but feels a tiny bit autumnal to me as the vanilla is the main thing I smell. Might save it for when the weather is cooler. Will try the #mrsglossmademedoit tomorrow.

I sadly discovered yesterday that my bottle of Killer Rose has a tiny, tiny hairline crack in the bottle near the bottle seal. I emailed TeamTuesdays just in case there might be a problem with their sealing equipment/problem with other bottles, they said everything seems okay on their end and they think it was just a one off weak bottle but they are sending me a replacement bottle. I didn't email them in order for them to replace it and i didn't ask them too either bu it's very kind of them. They have great customer service!!

AdoraBell · 17/07/2018 23:40

Fab customer service One 😁

MrsLucas · 18/07/2018 00:32

Not sure if SA use 10ml atomisers with 8 mls of content?

CountFosco · 18/07/2018 08:12

Another one here who can't bear to listen to the news and hoping against hope Brexit doesn't happen. DH has started talking about getting an Irish passport. We've already moved some of our long term savings out of the country to try and protect us a bit if the economy collapses.

positivepineapple · 18/07/2018 08:24

Hello All and Newbies 👋🏻

Been absent for a bit as RL has been a bit hectic.

I have managed to find time to purchase more perfume - obviously.

Signed up to Scent & Co, they seem to have the most niche range available. Lots of Tom Ford, Creed, Eldo, LAP etc. Website was a bit tricky on mobile but desktop version ok - awaiting my first delivery so shall report back in due course.

Got my first intense dislike off DH - Miller Harris Le'Pamplemousse.
It's sharp & very green - I really like it. He said I smell like weeds or bison grass vodka.

Hope everyone is keeping ok? I haven't read the whole thread but hope everyone's holidays were/are enjoyable and that no one has melted in the heat yet?

MsJacksonIfUrNasty · 18/07/2018 08:51

Morning all (its 3 with a new name).

MrsR - sorry to hear you're having a tough time. Brexit is madness. The news gives me palpitations these days. I just cant believe its actually going to happen. ..

Cooler here today. Feeling very under the weather, though, and undecided about SOTD. Off to the south coast for a week on Saturday and looking forward to some beach walks and maybe even a dip in the sea Grin. Will be packing WIDOMH for sure!

Morning all

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time, MrsR. MG Lemon has become a fast favourite here, so hopefully Fire will repeat the trick. Fennel that's interesting - I always assumed Cherry would be too sweet and pink for my taste but sour cherry sounds right up my street. Shall have to sit on my hands, as for some reason Cherry is twice the price of other MGs on ebay.

SOTD is Imaginary Authors The Soft Lawn. It does indeed smell like cut grass, clay and tennis balls. I admire it, not sure I love it.

[offtopic] I vacillate between trying to ignore Brexit and worrying about it. But my larger issue at the moment is that neither main party seems to be led. We have two weak leaders being propelled along by populist movements and I'm not convinced it's good for the country. [/offtopic]

SotD Avery E (another MN favorite!) Haven't worn this for a while and loving it as a work perfume in the heat, it's lasting well.

XingMing · 18/07/2018 13:01

Plausible, off topic it may be, but your comment resonated here!

SoTD is Jardin Mystique, from the Freidemodin set. But not for long, as I really don't like white florals. I will give the Rose de Nuit a whirl this pm.

XingMing · 18/07/2018 19:53

Have I missed the new thread? Or should we go on holiday?

SoTAfternoon was Roses de Nuit, which I rather like today (didn't much on the first try, but the warmth helps it.) It sinks softly and doesn't seem to have much sillage, but starts as a very spicy rose. TBF, I haven't paid it much attention while I was shopping for and preparing dinner. It's pleasant, and I think if it suits your skin, it would be a polite office scent. I may wear it on Saturday for a good guest at a wedding.

XingMing · 18/07/2018 20:08

Have created new thread. Titled Perfumistas on holiday, thread 16 is the one to look for, if anyone still standing.............
