That article was interesting Lweji. It does make you think how on earth are we going to fix a recession this time with interest rates low and no magic bullets left.

I wish I had the talent myself to create an image of the Statue of Liberty doing a two-fingered salute, the words "give me your poor, your sick" etc crossed out and FUCK OFF substituted. It's probably been done somewhere already, to be fair.

Kim may be many things, but I don't think he's dim.

Pops out from under the stairs to check in. Gave dd copy of Z for Zachariah to read lately. Perhaps not the best time to get 11 yr old into post apocalyptic literature.

For old time's sake:

Agree, Lweji, and he's playing Trump like a violin (to trot out a cliche, sorry). And Trump's too dim to see it.

And well guys, if I don't get another chance, I'd just like to say - it's been great!

These days with the state of things, news outlets (especially major ones like BBC, CNN etc need to be very, very careful and read things over twice

As does Trump - who needs to ensure that any news sources he reads are reliable and not biased.

Thanks for the new thread.

Thanks Claws. Just listening to ABC news using the word 'brink of war', which is alarming.

For anyone taking up prepping... personally I would add vast quantities of weed and fine whiskey to this list. If I'm going to be stuck in a bunker for years waiting for the nuclear winter to pass I may as well be wasted. Wink

What are the essential items to stockpile in the face of impending nuclear disaster?

Thanks for the thread. Possibly a bit cliché and/or maudlin but I'm glad I'm not alone in all this - no one IRL cares about all this as much as I do, I'm very grateful for these threads and all your contributions. Whenever something Kim/Trump related occurs, this is my first port of call. Thanks all.

I like the sound of your prepping Bigly.

Hello HowDo.

I'm not sure about prepping. If things do go post-apocalytically bad, I think having a family kool-aid supping session might be best. Suffice it to say that I did not find the ending of Cormac McCarthy's novel The Road remotely hopeful and thought the mother was right.

Yeah, Bigly's plan for the end of days sounds way more appealing than endless canned pulses and rice/porridge. I hope you are stocking up sufficient munchies too.
