This DACA program, it sounds inhuman to be ending this. Trump appears to be going back on his word? Is this just an exercise in willy waving, it's almost like he enjoys playing with people and their lives.

What is so sad is, they've abided by the rules all these years, they faithfully renew their application every 2 years, they haven't gone underground. I read that more than 10,000 students would lose their teachers if they're thrown out. How awful to be living with this uncertainty and the trouble is it's the 'O' word and of course Trump is dismantling everything connected with his predecessor.

Oh yes. He does it because he can. I And considers himself as 'Emperor' status. You only have to look at the Donald section of Reddit and on FB and see his followers calling him God Emperor Trump. I don't think he gets that he's serving the people.

ANd why would he when being self-serving has got him elected. Hasn't released taxes, divested from businesses, has shown incredible nepotism, engineered tax cuts fr that wealthy etc and still his base lap it up

We have no gold- but quite a lot of silver (solid, coinage and other small collectibles), most of the value of those in in the silver itself and not the object. After reading The Mandibles, I did wonder if these might be as good as gold (less valuable obviously) to have around.

We have enough land to grow food (not a huge amount, 1/2 acre), could keep chickens and rabbits for meat and sale (can be kept in very small spaces), have guns -that's unusual for the uk, air-rifles but powerful enough to shoot rabbits and dare I say it, deter people if everything went to hell.
I worry that we are too close to a city (only a few miles)!

But it's unlikely to completely go to hell (I hope).

I thought Trump had already said DACA is being suspended? Surely his intent is then to get rid of it. Absolutely awful, America is the only home most of these (former) children of "illegals" have every known. Such cruelty to uproot them and send them "home" whatever crime their parents committed by entering the USA illegally, they, the children are surely American now.

I don't know what to think about the DACA announcement. If he's not delivering it, maybe they won't scrap it after all.
Or maybe he doesn't want to be associated with getting rid of it while still playing to his base.
