Sooverthemill · 31/01/2024 08:25

Hello! Making a new thread for Flow devotees to continue our yoga together. Any YWA devotees welcome! ( and it doesn’t have to be flow, I will Repeat flow but may also do Center)

OP posts:
Yogachick · 31/01/2024 08:46

I’m in . I got bored with Flow and have started a 10 minute daily Kassandra in a desperate effort to be consistent as the 20 min ish Flow seemed too much. I am quite ashamed really

Trickedbyadoughnut · 31/01/2024 08:50

Thanks @Sooverthemill, I am going to repeat Flow I think, perhaps Center next month (I never finished that after breaking my hand duing the 30 days last year). I wavered about doing the monthly calendar, but some of them are just a bit too long for busy days.

@Yogachick absolutely nothing to be ashamed of! Even 20 minutes can be really tricky to fit in. Doing the 10 minutes regularly is a great habit and will definitely make a difference to how you feel.

Yogachick · 31/01/2024 09:09

Thanks @Trickedbyadoughnut . I am being mostly consistent with Kassandra and ( am surprised my self) enjoying her practices much more than Adriene. Less extraneous chatter.

narniabusiness · 31/01/2024 09:34

Thanks for the new thread @Sooverthemill If you can bypass day 30 I feel I have permission too. 💪
Cant decide whether to repeat Flow or try that Feb calendar but like @Trickedbyadoughnut Im worried they are a bit long at 40 mins, although time shouldn’t be an issue for me really Im just a bit lazy.

Buttalapasta · 31/01/2024 10:08

Thanks @Sooverthemill I am going to repeat Flow. 20 minutes is just right for me.

BadgersGate · 31/01/2024 10:16

Yes I think 40 minutes is too much for a daily practice but didn’t enjoy flow that much so might have to search about in the archives for something to suit me.

afaloren · 31/01/2024 10:31

I’m in! Thanks for the new thread. I’ve enjoyed Flow so much, even on the days it felt impossible I was always glad I’d done it. I’m going to try the calendars I think.

mynameiscalypso · 31/01/2024 11:36

Thanks for the thread! I'm going to do the Feb calendar I think but substitute anything over 25 mins long. I will also probably shift some of the days around depending on how much time I have on a particular day and when I can fit it in. I expect a couple of days will fall by the wayside too because I've got a few events and things in Feb but I really like the comment on the Flow thread about how you can miss one day, but not two. I tend to be an all or nothing type of person and just give up if I miss a day rather than just getting back to it.

froginawell · 31/01/2024 21:44

Thanks for the new thread!

I'm feeling persuaded to repeat flow. Maybe by the end of Feb I will be less galumph-y when bringing my leg forward from downward dog to lunge.

Freeamigos · 31/01/2024 22:23

@Yogachick you have made me feel so much better! I always feel lazy and a traitor when I defect to a Kassandra video, but truth be told I think I do enjoy her videos more and it’s easier to be consistent. Just finishing off Flow and then I’ll be looking to do more Kassandra videos so would welcome some recommendations…

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 31/01/2024 23:12

Just popping in here to mark my place. I think I will repeat Flow and see if/how much I have improved over the month.

Jumbojem · 01/02/2024 11:31

I did Flow Day 1 this morning. Slow start but I had forgotten how she left us hanging in plank a lot in those early days. Forward folds from cross legged position, my hips were not too happy even after a month of yoga, I think this is a position that wasn't repeated a lot later on in Flow?
Like a previous poster, I may also not follow in order as have to travel some days for work so shorter the better on those days.
@Yogachick I started doing some Kassandra late last year, I think as you and others on the earlier threads said you enjoyed them. Made a nice change from YWA and after I've repeated Flow I will definitely be subbing in some Kassandra and maybe others. Almost fell like I need to spend some time coming up with my own calendar, otherwise I waste the available yoga time by scrolling YouTube looking for one I fancy that fits the time I have.

afaloren · 01/02/2024 11:32

I did the first day of the February calendar this morning. I enjoyed it. At least I was prepared for plank after Flow!

mynameiscalypso · 01/02/2024 16:10

I also did the Head and Heart Reset from Day 1 of the Feb calendar. I think I've done it a few times before but it was exactly what I needed especially is the sunny weather here and the start of blossom on the trees made it feel very spring-like. It was nice to move a little and have that change in focus.

BadgersGate · 01/02/2024 16:35

I did day 1 of Move today. I was nervous as this series is 30 to 40 minutes, but I was struck by how easy it was compared to flow. Don’t know when it was filmed but also struck by how much Adrianne has changed body shape, though I would still give anything to look like she does now.

Candleabra · 01/02/2024 16:37

Which app are you using for the daily flow?

froginawell · 01/02/2024 18:11

Day one of flow done, found it distinctly hard!

Trying to convince myself it's because I'm doing the postures better have the 30 days!

Racingadmin · 01/02/2024 19:04

Enjoyed head and heart on day one of the calendar
My legs felt it holding the warrior 2 for so long after a 6.5mile speed walk

narniabusiness · 01/02/2024 21:14

Head and heart for me too. It wasn’t one that I’d done before but I enjoyed it.
@BadgersGate Move was my introduction to Adriene. It was released two years ago. I really enjoyed that series, but I remember finding it really hard because it was the first yoga I’d done in many years.

Yogachick · 02/02/2024 07:57

Like a recalcitrant teenager I didn’t practice on Day 1. I don’t know why I sabotage myself but am back to Kassandra for today, I’m on Day 8 of the series I’m following, which is a delicious 10 minutes a day.@Jumbojem heres the link for this series for future you x

I finished Flow yesterday but started with the Feb calendar and Head and Heart today. I also hadn't come across this one before but found it a nice start to the day - definitely got my energy up.

Ended it with a plough (my version 😅) because I want to master that and scary crow this year. I say master- even achieving them for a few breaths would be amazing!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 02/02/2024 08:53

I started the month with Head and Heart yesterday, as I remembered enjoying it a couple of times before. And as my shoulders are quite tight at the moment think I will do today's Admire session as well before dropping back into Flow at the weekend.

mynameiscalypso · 02/02/2024 16:12

I loved today's Feb video - upper back/shoulder stretch. Definitely needed it. The next two days are 40min ones so I might drop back into Flow. Will go back to the old thread and see what I thought of Days 1-4 to decide whether to start from the beginning or just do the 'correct' day.

afaloren · 02/02/2024 17:24

I really enjoyed today’s video although I don’t have a problem with upper back pain normally. Then later I did a kettlebell class and my upper back started hurting! Should have done them the other way around Grin

froginawell · 02/02/2024 18:16

I appear to be doing a YouTube algorithm version, not sure if that was the fern calendar or not, but quite enjoyed it. Was a blanket, stretch, flow, lie down. Exactly what I needed
