Hello! Making a new thread for Flow devotees to continue our yoga together. Any YWA devotees welcome! ( and it doesn’t have to be flow, I will Repeat flow but may also do Center)

OP posts:

I did today's one from the Feb calendar last night; a nice flow-y one with the added benefit (?) of some chair poses. I did some HIIT/strength stuff today but finished it off with a nice stretch with Adriene in one of her cooldown videos.

froginawell · 16/02/2024 20:07

Did yoga joy tonight. 20 mins, quite planky. But I'm quite pleased with my plank progression!

Skipped yesterday, but I'm going to let myself have that, as long as I stick to the ' can miss one bit not two' rule! (I can't even remember which of you came up with that rule! But I like it)

narniabusiness · 16/02/2024 20:33

The Feb calendar for me too. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 16/02/2024 21:48

February calendar for me too, I did today's straight after a run and it was good stretch out.

narniabusiness · 16/02/2024 21:51

Actually I was a bit surprised that I could balance on one leg which moving my raised knee in a circular motion. I don’t think I could do that before I started on the yoga.

Oh yes! I'd forgotten that bit! I totally agree with you, my balance has really improved thanks to yoga and I remember reading that it's one of the really important things to focus on as you get older. High five us!

Jumbojem · 17/02/2024 19:16

I intended to do a double today to catch up, but have done no yoga! Got up late and then was behind all day with stuff. Will do it tomorrow, but not a double as it's long run day.
I'm going to call in that "miss one day not two" rule I think, it's a good one!
I really need to get up earlier if I'm fitting yoga in, but I also like a cuppa in bed and time to read or catch up on sleep on a weekend morning.

Found you!

Just done day 4 Flow as I’m way behind but decided to not feel shame about it and just carry on.

So glad to have found the thread as it’ll keep spurring me on.

Sooverthemill · 08/02/2024 15:34

day 4 of Flow and that’s the one where she forgets to do the RH side of the arm and leg out and crunching! Will I ever remember that?!

I forgot this too about day 4!

froginawell · 18/02/2024 21:36

Did the yoga for weight loss one today (think the YouTube algorithm is the feb calendar, a few days late)

Quite enjoyed it, but is weird when it's so old that Benji isn't there!

mynameiscalypso · 18/02/2024 22:50

I did Flow Day 13 tonight. Stupidly forgot it was a very core-focused one when I'd already got tired abs from another workout yesterday. I think next month I need the structure of doing a 30 day series. I might do Centre from last year.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 18/02/2024 23:02

Busy day yesterday so didn’t manage any yoga. So did yesterday’s session (aimed at seniors) this morning which was just what I needed after swimming.

I jumped ahead and did the 10 minute PE yoga for children this evening just so that I was caught up on doing daily yoga, will skip it when it gets to that one on the calendar as I’ll be a day behind until then.

Trickedbyadoughnut · 19/02/2024 06:51

Had a couple of days not doing yoga last week because of food poisoning then a huge back spasm caused by lying in bed for a day! Had to take anti-inflammatories for the back so wouldn't dare trying yoga until they wore off.

So with doing a mix of post-run yoga on hard run days, I'm looking forward to redoing Day 10 of Flow this evening.

froginawell · 19/02/2024 20:34

Did nourish, was 20 mins, very chilled. Just what I needed

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/02/2024 21:11

Blanket yoga here, delightful.

mynameiscalypso · 19/02/2024 22:04

Flow Day 12 this evening (yes, I'm going backwards).

narniabusiness · 19/02/2024 22:17

I did the kids one that should be for tomorrow as it was only 10 mins and I didn’t have much time. It was quite fun in a silly way. (I enjoyed being an aeroplane).
Im saving the blanket yoga for tomorrow.
These are both from the February playlist.

Rummikub · 19/02/2024 23:47

Flow day 5 this morning. Liked this one.

Buttalapasta · 20/02/2024 08:34

Flow Day 20 - nice and stretchy. I can't really do happy baby though. I can't step forward into low lunge either. I just feel like my hip joint is stuck. Getting ever so slightly easier second time round.

Rummikub · 20/02/2024 13:18

I can’t do happy baby either. I find it really uncomfortable.

day 6 flow. Short and hard! Always forget its abs/core day 6.

afaloren · 20/02/2024 13:44

I love Happy Baby. It’s so interesting how different people (and I’m sure I’m one of the least flexible on this thread) find different poses challenging.

Still following the Admire calendar here, although I’ve not been doing it at weekends.

@afaloren it is interesting isn’t it about how our bodies work. I can do a forward fold and put my hands flat on the ground in front of me, but when I go into child’s pose my bottom doesn’t go anywhere near my feet.

Rummikub · 20/02/2024 14:45

Oh I love child’s pose but struggle with forward fold. I used to be v flexible right up till peri.

Downward dog is a no too. Too harsh on my wrists.

Buttalapasta · 20/02/2024 15:01

I can easily squat with my heels down. In fact it's a comfy position for me to watch tv in. It's everything else that's hard. 😂

mynameiscalypso · 21/02/2024 09:59

I did yesterday's new video last night - a deep quad stretch one. Lots of balancing and I couldn't quite get into some of the positions but a great one for post-exercise. Definitely one I'm going to come back to again.

Mulling what to do later today. I'm WFH so should be able to fit it in between calls.
