Still pain free here also after 18 months of pain/discomfort before doing Move. I bloody love that woman!

tootyfruitypickle · 11/02/2022 20:55

I'm thinking about starting swimming again soon, that was not an option before Christmas !

frazzled101 · 11/02/2022 21:09

I did day 12 today and am going to have to stop. I had keyhole surgery on 5th jan and unfortunately the sessions seem to be causing me pain. I'm gutted, I don't think I've ever done 12 days in a row of anything. Hopefully will be able to start up again soon. Good luck to everyone else!

Feawen · 11/02/2022 22:11

I’m sorry to hear that frazzled101 - I hope you feel more comfortable soon.

And Rummikub, I am sorry your doctor didn’t show more compassion.

It was a struggle to fit day 10 in today, around work, horse and dog exercising, but I made time and I’m glad I did.

Rummikub · 11/02/2022 22:32

Frazzled hopefully we will still be here when you’re ready!

Thank you feawen- the yoga is helping even if sometimes I just do the breathing !

cakeinmyfacehole · 12/02/2022 06:59

I've just finished the 30 days. I feel so much better for it. Thank you to everyone on this thread - I found seeing what was coming really helpful. Managed to get tonsillitis and covid in the middle of it all but as soon as I was well I started up again. Woooo hoooo! I think I'll start at day 1 again...

Rummikub · 12/02/2022 10:45

Yay well done!!
I’m only on day 3 again. I’m determined to keep it up as I feel so much better

guinnessguzzler · 12/02/2022 10:52

@frazzled101 Hope you start to feel better soon and you are right to give your body time to recover.

Well done @cakeinmyfacehole it's a great feeling completing it, that's for sure!

I ended up missing yesterday. I think I have been a bit under the weather and I've been so tired too so last night I was asleep at kids' bedtime so just couldn't manage. However, I have just done Day 11 and feeling good for it despite the hydrants! I might try to do Day 12 later on but will see how I'm feeling. I tend to find I'm better doing it in the mornings.

Sooverthemill · 12/02/2022 12:27

@BestIsWest @Shannith yup osteoarthritis is so humdrum for a GP. Mine did recommend exercises and offered a physio appointment ( we have them in site as we are rural) and said doing yoga was going to help. My sister had a hip replacement in her early 50s, my mum and granny had similar in their 50s too so I'm very aware. But yoga truly has helped.

Forgot, did day 11 and despite having only about 4 hours sleep it was lovely. A bit challenging but just taking it slowly and carefand really trying to feel the movements and breathe!

I’m Pleased to hear that your doc says yoga will help with osteo,

Day 3 completed
I think I’m finding it harder second time around as I am pushing myself a bit more.

Still can’t get the hang of downward dog really hurts my wrists.

guinnessguzzler · 13/02/2022 09:54

Morning Movers Grin Well done to everyone sticking with it one way or another Halo

I'm feeling much better today so did both Days 12 and 13, which worked quite well together as building on the balance, especially Crow. Still can't get the knees right up to the armpits but can get my feet off the ground for a good few breaths.

Sooverthemill · 13/02/2022 09:57

@Rummikub improving flexibility, strength and balance as well as stress and pain management, I think!

Did day 12 today and wondered if anyone can actually balance equally well on both legs? I certainly can't ! So pleased to be keeping this up. Thanks people!

Managed to complete day 11 today, although I’m feeling a bit under the weather - dizzy and exhausted without really having done much. It was a bit of a struggle but I didn’t want to skip another day.

One pose I am really appreciating at the moment is reclined pigeon - for some reason my hip flexors and glutes are tight at the moment. I’m going to try to work this in to every practice until pigeon is available to me again.

Congrats to everyone who is still here, whichever video you are on. Glad to hear you’re feeling better guinnessguzzler!

Rummikub · 13/02/2022 15:07

Day 4 done today
I even attempted downward dog for a few seconds!

I’m still finding it hard but think that’s cos I’m attempting more.

No I can’t balance equally well both sides either.

BestIsWest · 13/02/2022 17:30

Day 14 done. I bought myself some yoga blocks in Aldi this morning and they were a great help for Downward dog. I even managed a five second plank. The squatting is hard for me because my right knee won’t bend past 90 degrees but I did what I could. Feel lovely now.

Rummikub · 13/02/2022 17:37

Do you think blocks would help with wrist pain?

BestIsWest · 13/02/2022 18:09

I think they might - it’s shoulders that are my issue though. They were £4.99 for 2 in Aldi so I thought it was worth a go.

Rummikub · 13/02/2022 18:12

That sounds like a good price and worth the risk

guinnessguzzler · 13/02/2022 19:44

Thanks @Feawen It's amazing how much just a little bug can hold you back.

I do think as you try harder it gets harder. It is really interesting going through the same programme and seeing how it compares second time round although I have to admit I have forgotten a lot of it! I definitely feel stronger though.

tootyfruitypickle · 13/02/2022 20:24

I could lift one foot at a time today for the crow bit. But it hurts my wrists so much, it seems a huge amount of weight to put on them?

tootyfruitypickle · 13/02/2022 20:27

I did get my foot forward into lunge from downward dog a few times today which is immense progress . I'm quite tempted to do this every month so I can see progress , but perhaps it'll get a bit dull.
Interestingly I ache afterwards and the next day and I didn't for the first time around , but I think I am doing it better. Like when you sweat more the fitter you are (or I do anyway!)

Dingdong99 · 13/02/2022 21:00

Did her date night one today which was really nice

Rummikub · 13/02/2022 22:09

That’s what I’m thinking of too. It is interesting reseating it. And improving each time.

I too had forgotten lots of it. It does get hard quickly!

Rummikub · 13/02/2022 22:12

I find that I adjust my body position a lot more throughout the day. It seems I’m more aware of posture etc.
I sat cross legged on a dining chair! Just to see if I could like my dd2 does.
