Ooh @Shannith no my dogs are locked away but most mornings a cat joins me the biggest one loves to sit on my tummy and paddle while I do bridge. Tricky esp when doing the bridge pose when Adrimakes us lift alternate legs but I'm impressed that a) he doesn't fall off and b) I can do it!

Willlow · 09/02/2022 17:42

@Shannith Haha I totally get you with the dogs. As soon as unroll my mat they are in and plonked down on it.

Feawen · 09/02/2022 17:58

We have a visiting dog coming to stay for a few weeks - I look forward to discovering and sharing her opinions on yoga Smile

I enjoyed day 9, even though the balance poses are tricky for my recovering ankle - I couldn’t have attempted them at all a couple of weeks ago, so there are clear signs of improvement Grin

Shannith · 10/02/2022 09:11

Day 10 and a few new shapes for me that left me going nope. But I know from experience that if keep attempting them even a little bit I get there eventually. For me that's months but it's part of the...joy... maybe too strong a word... sheer bloody mindedness.

Not very zen of me - sorry Adrienne.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 10/02/2022 10:35

Currently a day behind, just did day 9, night do day 10 later if I have time.

Enjoying it a lot more this time around!

Sooverthemill · 10/02/2022 10:41

Ooh today was fabulous. I had forgotten day 9 was tree and it surprised me ( in a good way).

Day 10 was the best so far for me, really enjoyed it

guinnessguzzler · 10/02/2022 13:15

Looking forward to it now. Will have to be a bit later on ... work getting in the way HmmWinkGrin

Rummikub · 10/02/2022 15:06

I’ve lapsed a bit bit will do day 2 tonight and day 3 tomorrow
I actually miss it if I dont do it.

cungryhow · 10/02/2022 18:16

Did 11 today as got ahead of myself and missed out 8. Hydrant legs didn’t feel quite as hateful!

guinnessguzzler · 10/02/2022 18:26

Grin I always dislike hydrant!

I found today (Day 10 for me) really hard but I think it was more me than the practice. I was coming to it after a busy day of juggling work with our youngest off school sick (totally fine, just a bit of a tummy bug) so definitely needed it, but could have done with a more relaxing session I think! Might choose something else for bedtime.

cungryhow · 10/02/2022 20:00

@guinnessguzzler, yeah my hips clunk and click terribly! Hope you have a peaceful night!

Feawen · 10/02/2022 20:32

Didn’t make it to the mat today - lots on. By the time I got home I was too hungry for pre-dinner yoga, then too full of focaccia afterwards! Well done to everyone who showed up and I hope to rejoin you all tomorrow Smile

Shinyandnew2022 · 10/02/2022 22:44

Still here - did day 10 today and I too enjoyed it.
I must admit I saw the length and was a bit put off as I was squeezing it in to a busy evening but it flew by - weirdly I don't remember doing it before last time around.

Pleasenomoreglitter · 11/02/2022 08:04

I'm a little behind and did day 8 yesterday. Unlike others, I enjoyed it. However, it was perfect timing as I had a hospital appointment I was nervous about getting to and it calmed me right down before I needed to leave.

Sooverthemill · 11/02/2022 08:26

I did day 10 also a little out off by length but it was okay. I am trying sooo hard not to rush through poses

BestIsWest · 11/02/2022 08:32

Can I tentatively join please. I’m on day 12 today. I’ve done yoga in the past but am older and stiffer now - my right knee and hip don’t bend fully and I’m recovering from a frozen shoulder so somethings are nigh on impossible - planks and downward dog are difficult because of the shoulder for example. But I’m doing what I can and loving it so far.

I get a lovely warm glow afterwards which is a bit addictive.

rifling · 11/02/2022 08:53

I did her core strength session yesterday - today I can really feel it!!

Sooverthemill · 11/02/2022 09:07

@BestIsWest yes do join in! I'm in my 69s and have arthritis, a dodgy shoulder and hips ( and had frozen shoulder op 10 years ago). I found yoga made a massive difference so I hope it does for you too.Make adjustments for your range of movements and you will gain strength

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 11/02/2022 09:07

60s! Not 69 yet

OP posts:
BestIsWest · 11/02/2022 09:44

@Sooverthemill thank you! I’ll be 59 soon and part of my motivation is wanting to stave off the effects of arthritis and be a bit more flexible and stronger before I’m 60
I’ve just done the foot practice recommended up thread and it was lovely but no way was I getting anywhere near Hero pose where she ends up. I used to sit like that all the time in my youth!

Rummikub · 11/02/2022 11:27

Day 12 is good work best is west!

I’ve just done day 2.
I’m also doing this to help arthritis.

My GP gave me the diagnosis over the phone. Hi you have osteo. It’s degenerative. Bye!

She ignored my shock and tears and breezily said she would send me a link to nhs info.

Shannith · 11/02/2022 13:38

Did day 11 this morning and it was perfect as I was quite stiff from jumping for the first time in 20 odd years yesterday (literally some cross poles). The hydrant ones were useful because while I've improved a million miles from how locked my hips were a year ago, there's still work to do.

I'm really enjoying this and doing tit along with you all

@BestIsWest welcome! It is addictive isn't it? It's the only "exercise" I've got into in the last ohhh lots of years. Well apart from horses, but that's as likely to injure me as get me fit.

I did couch to 5k and did love it but it was an effort - yoga feels so much better and the benefits really help in my day to day life.

BestIsWest · 11/02/2022 14:15

@Shannith thank you. I did Couch to 5k two years ago and I loved it too but got a foot injury towards the end and once I’d proved to myself I could finish it I lost the motivation to keep going. I think If I can keep it up yoga will ge much better for my knees and my body as a whole.
I used to swim a few times a week before lockdown and loved that but haven’t gone back yet. I will though.

@Rummikub. I think that tends to be the general way with osteo. Usually with ‘Here’s some painkillers if you want some’ .

Rummikub · 11/02/2022 14:30

It felt quite callous I must say!
