I'm really enjoying this thread although I'm rubbish at posting, but it's so nice to feel part of a group.
I've just done day 5 again and I had a break through moment in pigeon. Its one of my hated poses due to my terrible painful knees although I know Sooverthemill you love it. I think I managed to get my block in just the right place and it really was a eureka moment!
I find it so interesting to see how some poses are impossible for some people but easy for others and it's so motivating to overcome little personal challenges and see tiny improvements.

Sooverthemill · 07/02/2022 15:35

Well done @willow! It’s very definitely good to see how other people find poses. And I love the motivation of this thread

I completed day two today. Failed over the weekend. I don’t know why I can never fit it in I just run out of time or am too lazy to get up early!

I am finding going from plank to the floor easier (chaturanga dandasna??) bizarrely when I completed the first time and she did the three legged dog and then down I found that easier. 🤔

namechange5575 · 07/02/2022 20:20

I missed out yesterday, very much not in the mood, but doubled up today so I feel like I'm back in the game. Days 5&6 today - glad to have got day 6 out the way! If I can only double up again soon then I'll be matching my days to the date, and I won't keep getting confused about which day to do.

Shinyandnew2022 · 07/02/2022 20:54

Day 7 done. Would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't so achy from yesterday !
@Willlow glad you had a pigeon breakthrough- like @Sooverthemill I love that pose.

Sooverthemill · 08/02/2022 08:49

Day 7! Felt this was harder work today than I remembered but still loved it especially the shaking feet and hands at the end

OP posts:
mumsiedarlingrevolta · 08/02/2022 12:52

@Sooverthemill I am also finding it much harder than I remembered but I think it is because I am really pushing to try and hold for longer etc and really get something out of it.

I did not re-do Day 8 today. I really did not get on with it the first time and am going with Adrienne's motto of "find what feels good" so I re-did Day 5 as it seemed a more chill practice and I didn't want to get ahead.

I am feeling sore muscles etc and finding it very gratifying!

And agree this thread is a really lovely thing to touch base on!

Feawen · 08/02/2022 13:00

Found day 7 hard-going yesterday…I was feeling a bit light-headed all morning. I managed to complete the video, but didn’t feel my usual happy yoga glow afterwards.

And day 8 today - big nope. I find breathing exercises make me feel either anxious or resentful, depending on my mood. They don’t help my find stillness - quite the opposite. I find them bearable if there’s a vigorous practice coming where I’m connecting movement with breath, but not as a part of a more meditative practice. Not my thing - I hope others found more joy and peace in their yoga today 😊

I seem to remember that day 9 was more my cup of tea… roll on tomorrow!

guinnessguzzler · 08/02/2022 13:08

Ha! Just about to do Day 8. I've forgotten what most of them are to be honest but I think I got on ok with the breathing so hopefully it will be ok. Feeling very tired today though so we'll see!

rifling · 08/02/2022 13:10

Is anyone doing Adriene's February calendar? I fancied a change so am doing that instead. Today's was very nice.

Feawen · 08/02/2022 13:12

mumsiedarlingrevolta I see I’m not the only one who didn’t feel the love for day 8…I wish I’d done the same as you and picked a different video. I might do that this evening Smile

Feawen · 08/02/2022 13:13

Happy yoga-ing guinnessguzzler

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 08/02/2022 13:23

@Feawen Agree with so much of your post-the whole point is to get something out of it and feeling resentful and clock watching def not helping so I feel much happier with my decision.

I am asthmatic and the breathing is something I am getting better at but hate overthinking it- so made a mental to skip Day 8 on the re-do.

Loving doing the 30 days again-feeling really encouraged and can see such progress!!!

frazzled101 · 08/02/2022 13:37

I didn't love day 8 either, it was the first time I kept checking the time. So clearly I'm not good at the lying still part!

namechange5575 · 08/02/2022 14:08

Did Day 7 this morning - I really enjoyed it! It felt like a really good balance of challenge and achievement. Half hoping I can zip through Day 8 at some point today then I'll be up to speed (there I go, half-heartedly setting an intention) ;)

guinnessguzzler · 08/02/2022 15:51

Thanks @Feawen I think I fell asleep Grin

konasana · 08/02/2022 16:01

I'm so happy to find you all, I loved this year's Move and it has helped me to re-establish my yoga habit. Started the programme over again and I'm now on day 3.

cungryhow · 08/02/2022 17:50

Another one not feeling day 8, Went straight to day 9 as didn’t fancy it much!

Sooverthemill · 08/02/2022 18:03

@konasana welcome! @rifling I rarely do the calendar these days, I find them too muddled up for me. I like the 30 days as they build up

Did 6,7 and 8 today. I normally do an hour a day and 8 was pretty low key. I nearly did none as when I lay in the mat this morning my lower back went into a weird spasm.

By this evening it seemed to have calmed down so took it gently. I'm amazed at how easy I'm finding most of these. When I first stated a couple of years ago I'd have given up on day 2.

Because my improvement has been so incremental (so that'll be slow then) it's quite nice to realise that I can actually "do" yoga rather than just being a fake.

I never do the relaxing bit at the end of her seasons (though always do longer that she does at the beginning to in uncreak myself before moving) so it was good for me and my back to do a whole session on the bits that I normally skip.

I was actually relaxed and yawning which is new for me. If I'd done it at the begging of the day as normal I'd probably have skipped it too.

Shinyandnew2022 · 08/02/2022 21:33

Done day 8 here - I had an awful
Nights sleep last night so this was actually perfect for me today . I really enjoyed it and felt a tiny bit revived afterwards !
I think if it had been a normal day I would really have struggled .

tootyfruitypickle · 09/02/2022 07:15

I didn't like day 8 and thought I would sack it off next time around ,but I realised last night that I hadn't felt anxious all day and I feel ok today as well - I've been having an anxiety flare up - so maybe there is something in the breathing.

Shannith · 09/02/2022 10:10

I do yoga every day (otherwise I'm stiff as a plank and not a good one) but doing this has reinvigorated me and I can feel the benefit.

So glad I found this thread. Just down day 9 and tree pose. Ha ha ha. I can do it on one leg - the other I'm dreadful. If anyone can close your eyes and do it, you are my hero!

Shannith · 09/02/2022 10:14

Anyone else's dog like to get involved? Mine needs to take some lessons from Benji and not take down dog as an invitation to play/wriggle about underneath me.

Sooverthemill · 09/02/2022 10:58

Did day 8. Didn't especially like it but I'm trying to get myself to just do what Adrienne tells me to do assuming there's a reason. So I close my eyes and listen to her voice and follow that as much as I can. This may be called mindfulness I think. Anyway, it was okay and I'd had a dreadful nights sleep again so it was pretty good. @Shannith read your DMs!
