Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

Hi @Sooverthemill

I am a bit behind and only just found this thread. I have completed day 7 today. I’ve never really enjoyed the Adrienne ones before but I am really enjoying this time round. I may do day 8 later to try and catch up a bit.

I usually attend a yoga class but hasn’t since last summer for various reasons.

I hope it’s ok to hop on the thread 🙂

Sooverthemill · 13/01/2022 13:12

@Softpebbles of course! Lovely to see you here. I love the annual challenge and am a total Adrienne fan ( and yoga with kassandra) and I usually repeat one or two of the old ones every year

@Sooverthemill ah that’s interesting thanks.

tootyfruitypickle · 13/01/2022 14:42

I thought todays was going to be chill when she rocked up in a sweatshirt- not so much! Enjoyed it though , some new moves for me.

Snowiscold · 13/01/2022 17:43

I’m still keeping up, though I do stop or make things easier at times - often - but I am a complete beginner. Today’s day 12 session moved a bit too fast for me. I’m trying to watch her on the tv screen, but I’m sideways on, and anything where you have to turn to the left I can’t see the screen any more, so I’m trying to twist round to see what she’s doing and then I get lost. On the plus side, getting my leg through to lunge from downward dog is much improved!

@Sooverthemill @bordermidgebite @guinnessguzzler @CeibaTree

Thank you for being kind and encouraging! I have finished feeling sorry for myself now and decided that you are all right - it's fine to not keep up with a baby and putting pressure on myself is pretty much the opposite of what Adriene would condone!

I managed Day 3 today: it was lovely! I'm going to bookmark that one to come back to in the future.

That’s the one that I’ve also noted to come back to.
Last year I did day 4 everyday rather than the rest of the month!

guinnessguzzler · 13/01/2022 18:30

Glad to hear it @DelightfulDinosaurs

I enjoyed Day 12 today although had to rewind at one point as I got totally confused and when I looked at the screen realised I was all kinds of wrong. I liked doing eagle though and even managed a proper crow for the first time, for about one second!

cungryhow · 13/01/2022 18:55

I liked 12 too, somehow the thread the needle wasn’t too uncomfortable today and I managed to get both shoulders down and the bind which normally foxes me. Managed a brief crow. Eagle legs were a failure though!

Sooverthemill · 13/01/2022 19:18

@DelightfulDinosaurs as Adrienne says, just getting on the mat is a result! If this 30 days is too much she does have lots of short sessions which are 7-15 minutes or so. I also often do kassandra who has 30 days of 10/11 minutes morning yoga series when I'm really pushed for time. Doing any yoga every day when you can will help you build up

@Snowiscold I often pause, scoot myself round the other way and press play so I can see the screen as I am also side on,

Day 11 done - day 5 is still my favourite.

I wish Adriene would do the side that faces the screen first rather than trying to figure out the move without being able to see her!

EmmaStone · 13/01/2022 19:37

Just did Day 10 & 11 back to back (have quietly binned off day 8...). I thought they were both a bit non-descript, although my hips were really feeling the hydrant leg circles.

Am definitely feeling more flexible though, it's definitely doing something!

plus3 · 13/01/2022 20:41

Day 11 done - enjoyed but was surprised at how hard the cactus arms were…Adriene said well done for making it to the mat & I literally beamed with pride Grin

BalancingStick · 13/01/2022 23:05

Did day 12 just before dinner. Was in a bad mood after a stressful day so came to my mat in the wrong frame of mind BUT really enjoyed Day 12. I liked the contrast between slow start and finish but a faster pace for much of the contents. Roll on day 13!

Shinyandnew2022 · 13/01/2022 23:06

Did day 12 and I think it was my absolute favourite so far ( though they are merging a little now !)
I felt stronger and was left wanting more as it was quite short again.

Rummikub · 14/01/2022 00:05

Day 9 done last night
Day 10 half heartedly this morning.

It helps to read others enthusiasm. So I will do day 10 again now.

ChocAuVin · 14/01/2022 07:36

@Snowiscold I’ve just done day 12 this morning and I thought I must be feeling a bit slow off the mark as I found it faster-paced than usual… maybe I need coffee!

Loving the series though. It genuinely gives me something to look forward to each morning whilst WfH Smile

itssquidstella · 14/01/2022 09:52

I’m a day behind but not going to the gym tonight so I'll do 12 and 13 together.

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 14/01/2022 10:15

I see from today’s email that the session includes crow pose again. It is the one yoga move I absolutely cannot do in the slightest. I’m not sure why. I just can’t seem to get my knees into my armpits in the way she does. I’m wondering if it’s because I’ve got short arms?! I’ve tried so many times and unlike other poses which are hard to start but improve with practice, I just cannot make any headway with this one.

Weepingwillows12 · 14/01/2022 10:18

I am 3 sessions behind as pulled a muscle in my neck looking around too quickly 😁. Feels good today so will try and do 2 sessions a day at the weekend to catch up. Have missed it.

Boood · 14/01/2022 10:23

I’ve done 10 and 11 now. There are quite a lot of new things in all of these, aren’t there? And it’s definitely faster-paced. I quite like it, but only days 4 and 5 have made it into my favourites so far. But I often find I enjoy a practice more the second time I do it, not sure why.

Snowiscold · 14/01/2022 10:29

Day 13 - I found the intro photo scary. Had to miss out the middle section- is that the crow pose? No way! But persevered with the rest.

Lightningrain · 14/01/2022 11:33

I was also scared when I saw crow pose! I’m sure I used to get quite close to being able to do it but after a couple of years of not practicing very often I can’t do it at all.

Also suffering with DOMS after a resistance workout on Wednesday and struggled with anything involving a calf stretch. I was quite glad that it was a short one today!

guinnessguzzler · 14/01/2022 11:45

I find crow hard too. I can't really get my knees into my armpits but more to my upper arms which then hurts as it sort of pulls on the skin. Nevertheless I managed about a second again! Enjoyed the rest but was quite wobbly for some of it. At least Day 13 was short!
