Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

I just finished day 8, I'm glad I waited until bedtime to do it, as this would be too relaxing for me to do in the morning, I'd just have fallen back asleep 😂

I agree about her yoga mat, it's very confusing half of it being the exact same colour of the floor.

Rummikub · 10/01/2022 01:46

Just repeated day 7 now as I was half asleep and not really committed this morning. I’m gii I no to do say 8 in bed so I can then just stay asleep hopefully😬

BogRollBOGOF · 10/01/2022 07:17

@Jumbojem

Just checking in! I got a day behind so did day 6&7 yesterday and day 8 today post run. Is there another abs day like day 6 later on, of is there one per week? I really do need to work on my core but I was terrible at day 6 so I think I need to repeat day 6 from time to time, or will there be more core work? If never got beyond about this point to know, but am quite determined this year!
Day 6 is always core based (6- six pack!) so you could look at any of the day 6 videos from previous years and there are other random core videos in the back-catalogue too.

I need to get up and get practicing, but I think I'll do a morning video and come back to day 8 this evening.

arootintootingoodtime · 10/01/2022 09:57

I've been doing them at night, so did Day 6 last night. Found it hard on my hypermobile shoulders so pulled out of a couple of moves. Thinking of doubling up by doing Day 7 at lunchtime and Day 8 before bed, as they are really helping me drift off at night. Then I'll be towards caught up. I'll see how I feel after a short lunchtime run - might be too much!

DelightfulDinosaurs · 10/01/2022 10:18

Well done to all of you who have managed to keep going! I joined but haven't even made it to day 3 yetSad

Fitting it in around the baby has been harder than I thought (naive!) and I got a bit disillusioned with it from the off because some parts were too hard or fast for me and I couldn't do it properly or keep up. I know this shouldn't matter, and pre-baby I wouldn't have minded much, but post-baby I'm even more over-sensitive and sappy than usual and it made me sad and cross! I've had a bad hip since giving birth, which didn't help, and my core strength is rubbish.

I don't know whether to keep trying to fit in the odd session here and there and be miles behind or just bow out now and accept that now's probably not the time for this particular challenge!

Sooverthemill · 10/01/2022 10:40

@Itonlytakesonetree transitions are hard. I've been practicing almost every day since 2015 and that DWD to lunge is still not smooth. Look at her foundations of yoga series it may help you
@DelightfulDinosaurs don't be too hard on yourself! Babies are hard work! Obviously yoga will really help your hip ( it's why I started) and Adrienne has several videos for hip openers which I do a few times a month. Try those?
I liked day 8 but found the pryayama session a bit long. Otherwise very nice

@DelightfulDinosaurs

This is the first year I am anything like on schedule- I was months behind some years and I don't have a baby to manage !

plus3 · 10/01/2022 11:17

Hi all just did day 6 & 7 together as fairly behind - going to make peace that not doing everyday is ok - I would rather commit to doing Yoga every day off, rather than feel bad for not doing it after a long busy shift at work. This is still 100% more exercise than before, plus I will finish the program 🤞
Day 6 was as tricky as expected, but got through most of it - oddly the hardest part was trying to sit up from lying flat! Sooo much core work required, am convinced this will help my back as well (although not today - have already taken ibruprofen…)

guinnessguzzler · 10/01/2022 12:48

@DelightfulDinosaurs It is so hard fitting this kind of thing in with a baby! I am just now getting back to proper regular exercise now my little ones are in school! I think in your position I would just try to keep up where I can and then go back to the start once the 30 days is up and do it again maybe. I know a few others are planning on doing that too. I'm not yet sure what I'll do after this. I had just completed another 30 day programme (Breath) so might go on to a different one or go back over Move again. I do find the 30 days a good process. Generally when I am finding a particular bit sore, the next day she covers it - it's almost as if she plans it Wink - and I find it helpful to have something to stick to rather than having to choose.

guinnessguzzler · 10/01/2022 12:50

Forgot to say, Day 9 complete. Nice and short and not too wobbly!

UnaOfStormhold · 10/01/2022 13:24

I think I was more tired than I thought last night, I dozed off seconds after stretching out into savasana in day 8. I obviously needed it!

CeibaTree · 10/01/2022 13:24

@DelightfulDinosaurs babies are really hard work, when mine were small, I could only exercise when my husband was there to keep an eye on them as it's impossible to get a decent chunk of anything exercise related while you are in sole charge. In your position, I'd try and do them here and there and maybe set your self the goal of finishing it in 3 months rather than 30 days - you hips will thank you :)

I enjoyed day 9 as it was short and sweet!

CeeCeeDeeBee · 10/01/2022 13:27

Trying to work up the oomph to do day 9. I found day 8 quite dull and clock watched a fair bit. I am tightly wound, though 😂

NoMoreTractors · 10/01/2022 14:39

Just completed day 5 so pretty far behind now but enjoyed that one.

rifling · 10/01/2022 16:49

I don't really get how to move from plank to DFD without moving your feet? Am I the wrong shape?

bordermidgebite · 10/01/2022 17:20

@rifling

I watch her and when she goes from all fours to DFD she sometimes moves her hands forward a bit , which I need to do if I then want to go into plank without a kink
Boood · 10/01/2022 17:59

Well, I’m afraid for me Move day 6 was the worst practice I have ever done. It’s very rare I walk away from the mat in a bad mood, but that’s done it. My neck feels so stiff and horrible from holding it so rigid for so long! If it had been any other instructor I’d have said, well Adriene would NEVER put something so straining in one of her practices!

TiddleTaddleTat · 10/01/2022 18:29

Behind here having just completed day 5 (very enjoyable). I’m spacing them out based on other exercise I’m doing (eg hiking yesterday), it’s too much to do the toughest yoga sessions on day I’m already doing something else. Enjoying it though and impressed I’ve made it this far. Really enjoy the fact I can do it whenever and wherever I want - I thought I would want to do it first thing but late morning tends to work best. Today I fitted it in just before dinner which worked well.

Itonlytakesonetree · 10/01/2022 18:52

Thank you soover I will check that out.

cungryhow · 10/01/2022 19:28

Not a great day 9 for me, fire hydrant leg very uncomfortable and I find the pulsing quite difficult to do with any sense of grace or ease. My balance was rubbish today too. Roll on tomorrow!

parrotonmyshoulder · 10/01/2022 19:33

I didn’t enjoy day 9! Partly because family members insisted on disturbing me, but also just didn’t find any of it satisfying.
Never mind, I like the variety and seeing what each day will be like.

tootyfruitypickle · 10/01/2022 20:13

Day 9 was ok but not as good as the first few . I definitely like the flow type ones best

itssquidstella · 10/01/2022 20:39

I didn't like day 9 much, I didn't feel it flowed as a routine.

becca3210 · 10/01/2022 20:47

Day 9 done. I find my standing ankle starts to ache in tree so I can't hold it for very long. Chuffed that after tomorrow will be one third through

Shinyandnew2022 · 10/01/2022 21:10

Day 9 done. I enjoyed it and managed pretty much everything. I don't know if I am
imagining it but I feel a bit more flexible already .
