Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

Can I ask a really stupid question please?

What do you wear?

I'm asking because I already have a set of running clothes most days, plus my usual clothes, plus pjs, and can't face another set!

Do you get sweaty? Is doing it in my pjs an option?

Really want to start this but this is putting me off (unreasonable I know).

Subbaxeo · 09/01/2022 16:43

I do it in my joggers or leggings and sometimes just t shirt and knickers. A sports t shirt is better than something baggy so it doesn’t keep falling around your face when you’re doing inversions,

guinnessguzzler · 09/01/2022 16:54

I have to admit I sometimes (quite often) do yoga in my pjs! Tbh since the virus I do as much as possible in my pjs Grin.

I do it in my pjs , (and spent an inordinate length of time admiring lovely Adrienne’s lovely outfits) . This is because I do it in the morning , yes I am a day behind, before I have drawn the curtains back - I live in a London terrace, no blinds or nets, front yard, railings, pavement . Then upstairs, run bath, have bath, get dressed. I don’t get sweaty doing it, but have a bath anyway.
clary · 09/01/2022 17:11

Yep I do it in pjs in the morning, or if I have been or am about to go on a run, then my running kit. It's good if your top doesn't fall down when you invert but it's not a disaster if it does. I never get sweaty.

Love Adriene's outfits tho

Hi everyone. I’m a few days behind, I did day 5 this morning, and it was my favourite so far- the low-down stretchy ones always are. Agree with what lots of you have said that Move has been more difficult than the other 30 days series so far. Definitely hard on the wrists, and dropping in to more difficult flows quite quickly. Staying optimistic for day 6, though. I’ve been cycling through the 30 day programmes ever since the first lockdown, having been a bit more sporadic before that, and I always used to skip day 6. Then I did one, and was actually surprised by how manageable it was! So I don’t skip them any more. Although I don’t save them in my favourites to do again either…

cungryhow · 09/01/2022 17:28

Day 7 quite enjoyed apart from balancing on balls of feet which I can’t do to save my life. I get really frustrated with this which I need to let go of as it’s physically difficult for me as one of my feet is two sizes bigger than the other so I am quite unbalanced, high on my small foot and half up on the big one! Was dreading day 8 as I struggle with stillness and not letting my mind go off on a million tangents but got through without too much fidgeting and lapses so I’m thrilled with that and having a glass of wine now.

parrotonmyshoulder · 09/01/2022 17:57

Day 7 for me today as missed a day friday. I did find it a bit dull actually but fairly light after the hard day 6. I’ll probably go onto day 9 tomorrow and save 8 for when I need it.
I can’t do anything much on the balls of my feet as terrible joints and bunions. I just miss them out or adapt them.

Gufo · 09/01/2022 19:28

I normally struggle with the Day 8 relaxation one, but went for it and quite enjoyed it. DCat came and sat by my head and DD, who was doing it with me, fell asleep by the end!

becca3210 · 09/01/2022 19:32

I enjoyed day 8 perhaps as was feeling quite lazy and tired. Was nearly asleep by the end of it 😂

Sooverthemill · 09/01/2022 19:38

@wishingitwasspring I always do it in pjs every single day of the year. I get up, feed cats, make a cup of tea, drink it, then do you have then shower and dress. If I didn't do it in my PJs I wouldn't do it.

I really enjoyed day 8 too. I’d been to the gym to do a resistance workout this morning so it was nice to relax all my muscles.

I’m hoping tomorrow’s isn’t too hard as I’ll no doubt be suffering with DOMS.

AHobbyaweek · 09/01/2022 19:57

Sounds bad but relaxed in the bath then went oh yeah I'm supposed to do the day 8 relax yoga. Is it worth it tonight or just relax in the bath?

Itonlytakesonetree · 09/01/2022 20:27

Delurking to ask a question if I may? I'm a total beginner and have managed to do every day, but I'm bloody awful! One thing I'm finding hard is the transitions, I cannot get my leg swung through to the front (agree with pp that boobs plus my TRex arms doesn't help) but I'm really noticing that for transition to Downward Dog, I'm always in the wrong position. I genuinely think my arms are too short and Adriene just moves into it, but my arms are always too far away and I have to shuffle hands and feet closer together. Is that ok? I just can't see how I can do plank to DD without the ungainly shuffle Confused

Shinyandnew2022 · 09/01/2022 20:39

Just about managed to get day 8 done - wasn't sure I was in the mood as DS tested positive today and has been so sad and vomiting etc so I really struggled to quiet my mind.
I still felt better for doing it though and strangely quite enjoyed the breathing section - haven't done that single nostril thing for years and years !

I also spend lots of the time generally thinking how lovely Adriene always looks her outfits are so gorgeous!

LizziesTwin · 09/01/2022 20:41

I really don’t like her stripy mat as it looks as if she’s half off it.

There are others way more knowledgeable than me on here but I don't think you need to worry too much about that , I can't do smooth transitions yet but am noticing slight improvements already - it might be worth just checking your body placements on the mate compared to hers just to see if you aren't quite in the right place to start with - I though about asking my DD to take a photo of my plank to check it's ok as I am very rusty , and obviously that's the one thing with this type of yoga we don't get any feedback or corrections ! Also there is no such thing as ' bad ' at yoga - you are showing up and will still benefit and improve at your own pace !

Yes this really confused me the first few days I kept thinking things needed to be wider than the mat !
itssquidstella · 09/01/2022 20:51

I loved her outfit today, it looked so cosy. I also really enjoyed the class; I went to spin this morning and didn't stretch properly afterwards so it was really nice to take the time to unwind.

Itonlytakesonetree · 09/01/2022 20:52

Thank you, Shiny

dairyfarmerswife · 09/01/2022 21:06

Day 7 done here - missed a day yesterday. I'd like to say I was too busy but I think to be truthful I didn't plan how I would fit it in so it didn't happen. Anyway, I shall try not to miss another.

BalancingStick · 09/01/2022 21:36

Day 8 done. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Took me 10 mins to get into it and the rest passed in a bit of a blur!

Taswama · 09/01/2022 22:15

Joining.

I'm on day 7. I went to a RL yoga class on Weds so am a day behind.
Really enjoying it although the sesssions seem harder but shorter than previous years.

RagzReturnedUnwrapped · 09/01/2022 22:18

Didn't enjoy day 8 at all, I felt like I wanted to do more Stretching and jaut couldn't relax. I especially don't like lying flat, it makes my lower back hurt, so I had to adjust myself a lot for that part. I was pleased to have shown up for myself though.

I also do it in pyjamas, but I do put a bra on.

Agree re her yoga mat, my brain doesn't like it at all!

Jumbojem · 09/01/2022 22:22

Just checking in! I got a day behind so did day 6&7 yesterday and day 8 today post run.
Is there another abs day like day 6 later on, of is there one per week? I really do need to work on my core but I was terrible at day 6 so I think I need to repeat day 6 from time to time, or will there be more core work? If never got beyond about this point to know, but am quite determined this year!
