Day 6 and 7 done. Six was a lot, but I found it less hard going on my abs than the shock to the system they got over the first few days. I did have to adapt some of the moves, and couldn’t do everything. Im okay with that though, I think in the past I would have felt bad if I couldn’t keep up or do things perfectly, but I’m much more accepting now and being grateful for what I can do, and the fact I am showing up for myself.
I’ve been dealing with chronic pain for the past few years, and over this last year have made massive progress, using journaling and mediation and Pilates to heal, and this yoga is proving to me how much kinder I am to myself now.
I also wasn’t a huge fan of day 7. I’m not sure why, I think because some of it loved quite quickly and I was struggling to see what I was supposed to be doing. Definitely one to revisit. I also LOVED the end! Such a fun thing to do but also awesome for helping to release any adrenaline etc (gazelles for example, will shake off like that when they’ve escaped from a lion or such like, and then calmly go back to their day - well maybe not lying on their backs legs in the air, but you get the point 😂).
I’m really pleased that I’ve done 7 days in a row of this, it’s the longest I’ve done yoga daily for, and I feel the benefit already.
My second challenge for January started yesterday, so sharing if anyone else wants to double up. There’s a mindfulness daily challenge - every day is a ten minute talk about mindfulness and mediation activity, and I’m going to aim to do them every day. I meditate most days using insight timer anyway, but I would like to learn more about mindfulness and that type of mediation, as I know it has so many benefits. Here’s a link incase anyone else is interested. courses.cloudsangha.co/products/mindfulness-daily-challenge
It started yesterday, but like Adrienne it lands later in the day, so I’ve done day one today and will carry on in the same vein.
Looking forward to a calming day 8 practice later
