Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

Great idea to reward ourselves with some YWA merch (or sweaty betty stuff that I'm lusting after but can't afford!).

I have some great yoga/running leggings from amazon! About £20 and apparently a dupe for lululemon. Trying not to buy from amazon though as part of my core values Wink.

AHobbyaweek · 07/01/2022 17:56

Day 6 done but it was the first time I had to take quite a few breaks and found it extremely hard. I think my core is shot from pregnancy and I really didn't enjoy this one. I will be back tomorrow

Languidleopard · 07/01/2022 18:11

Didn't want to be left out of the day 6 vibes, so I did day 6 from Dedicate first thing 😁

I'll double up tomorrow as IIRC day 7 tends to be a bit more chilled out? I'll also have a bit more time at the weekend.

I find getting down on my forearms in lizard isn't a problem at all as I have freakishly flexible hips and legs. I struggle a lot with the strength stuff though, particularly anything requiring upper body strength. Yoga has helped immensely, particularly with strengthening my wrists.

tootyfruitypickle · 07/01/2022 18:18

Did day 6 and found it better than previous day 6s, but I had to take a break in the first bit ! Quite pleased as usually this is a write off session!

tootyfruitypickle · 07/01/2022 18:19

Oh and I've cancelled my next physio, going to see if doing yoga daily can sort me, I am so much less sore after I've done it , I add a few runners lunges each day for my hips. Feeling really positive after 18 months of constant discomfort

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 07/01/2022 18:21

I enjoyed day 6 - a couple of moves that were new to me, and I was pleased I was able to do pretty much all of it and hold the poses. There’s absolutely no way I would have been able to do any of it when I first started doing daily yoga though, I feel for those who are doing this as their introduction to yoga!

poorbuthappy · 07/01/2022 18:49

Had to take some breaks but overall loved day 6!

TiddleTaddleTat · 07/01/2022 20:02

I’m on day 4 so a bit behind but enjoying it and it’s feeling easier than when I started so that’s an achievement already!

SuddenArborealStop · 07/01/2022 20:42

I started day 6 and immediately knew it wasn't for me, too much repetition and I was already in a bad humour, my body didn't want to do even the first moves right.

I will try it at a later date. The most important thing for me right now is showing up so I just switched to the down dog app.
I still had a tough one with dancers and bow poses thrown in but I wasn't huffing impatiently waiting for adrienne to give any sign of how long was left to do. Actually maybe what I needed today was day 5 again Blush

EmmaStone · 07/01/2022 20:47

Day 5 done. My hips are delighted 😁. Won't be able to get to the mat tomorrow, so will have to do day 6&7 on Sunday...

clary · 07/01/2022 20:49

Oh I am sooo behind! I was a day behind anyway bc of the timing, and yesterday I did a yoga session that runs at my work on a Thursday morning (which is great) so I need to do day 5 and 6! Might do day 5 tonight as it sounds as tho it is calm actually (and I couldn't run far bc of icy pavements) then do the abs tomorrow am?

Can always then catch up with tomorrow's live on and ditto Sunday. Hate being behind!

BalancingStick · 07/01/2022 20:55

Forgot to check in yesterday but did Day 5 - didn't love it but felt calm. Day 6 today, it almost killed me. I did it all but good lord it was tough!!

Shinyandnew2022 · 07/01/2022 21:00

@Redcrayons

Not Sweaty Betty, though I love my Power leggings. I would recommend taking a look at the shop for merchandise for YWA 30 day merchandise. I got a lovely hoodie last year for Breath. It’s one of those print to order places based in the Uk and the quality and design are lovely. I haven’t seen a link yet, but worth a look if they do it again.
Oh wow thanks for this @Redcrayons I will definitely check our YWA merch ! Am also loving the team hoodies idea !!

This makes me feel better about my lack of abs stamina today !
ConradKnightSocks · 07/01/2022 21:31

Have enjoyed reading through everybody's experiences here and so pleased I'm not the only one struggling to step into a lunge from down dog. I sometimes have to actually drag my leg up into position 😂. I also dream of the day I manage to get my heels on the floor in dd - not with these hammies!

I'm a day begins, so just did day 5 and I really enjoyed it. My hips seem to be quite open (definitely the only remotely flexible part of me) so I enjoy the hip openers and get to feel like a real yogi as I manage to get into the same positions as Adrienne (huzzah!).

I really liked day 4 too which surprised me as I don't normally like the flow sessions because they move too fast for me & I'm never sure what I'm supposed to be doing when. It actually finally clicked for me & I ended up enjoying the movement with the breath - will come back to that one for sure.

Day 6 is abs day?!? 😬 My abs are already killing me from the last few vids so it will probably finish me off! Absolutely no core strength after having a baby a few months ago but I'm here for it!

RagzReturnedUnwrapped · 07/01/2022 22:34

@CeeCeeDeeBee

Day 6...ouch! I had to take a couple of short breaks, it was a toughie.

I can get to my forearms in lizard but I am hyper mobile and have always had good flexibility. It's strength that I'm lacking!

Exact same here. I can do forearms flat in lizard, palms flat in forward fold etc but my strength is crap. Couldn't get my knees to my elbows in whatever move that was today and I really struggle with hand placements on all fours as I'm constantly feeling like my arms aren't straight. I have rubbish proprioception!

I fell asleep after a glass of wine this evening and woke up just before 10, so started then. DH came in after 5 mins to get changed, right at the first lot of annoying knee to elbow bits. That was an excellent excuse to get stroppy and stop doing it! However, after he left I gave myself a talking to and reminded myself that yoga is my quiet me time and not cheat myself of it.
Very glad I finished, but ouch!

plus3 · 07/01/2022 22:42

So it turns out that I do NOT want to do yoga after 16hrs out of the house …Grin
Did both Day 4 & 5 today. I have a dodgy right hip & my left lower back hurts - since starting Move both had started to felt better, but today hurt again. Not sure whether it was two long work days plus stiffness from not doing yoga, but got back on the mat this evening.
Day 4 ok - may have struggled a little due to tiredness etc, but Day 5 felt positively therapeutic!

Ietthemeatcake · 07/01/2022 23:02

Just caught up on the thread. I did day 1 on Monday, then got Covid! Hoping to be back in the mat soon. Namaste all 🙏

SunDance21 · 07/01/2022 23:21

Starting to find my groove with yoga again.

I've missed so many messages in here over the past few days. I hope everyone is still enjoying jt 😊

I did the Stillness For Stress Relief | 15-Minute Meditation sessions after my practice and it was amazing. Really recommend it as a way to wind down before bed 😊

Talisin · 07/01/2022 23:39

@Shinyandnew2022

Oh also inspired by another thread about treats to get through the Jan/Feb gloom I have also decided I am going to reward myself once I get to day 30 by something lovely to wear for future yoga from Sweaty Betty ! Am open to any recommendations as it's been years since I bought new kit.
I got these for my birthday last year (in a different print) and they are the softest most comfortable leggings ever. I wore them for tonight’s session in fact and they are just perfect - no hitching up, no yanking down Grin, no digging in anywhere - they just stay perfectly in place.
Jumbojem · 07/01/2022 23:49

@letthemeatcake hope you don't feel too poorly!
I loved yesterday, failed to do today due to long work day and having to take my son for a run so will aim to do day 6 and 7 tomorrow, or 7 and 8 on Sunday depending how it goes!

Talisin · 07/01/2022 23:50

Took two days off as I was worried about my back packing up so am in catch-up mode now. Day 4 I did not enjoy apart from the breathing/arms bit in the moddle. I just find flow incrediblely tedious and am unable to get into it at all so I was glad to go straight on to day 5 which I enjoyed very much. I now feel very stetched and very relaxed. I briefly condsidered doing day 6 as well but my feet felt like blocks of ice by then so I’m saving the abs turture for tomorrow afternoon!

Talisin · 08/01/2022 01:15

Oh ffs🙄 - I got THESE leggings in a different print last year.

Also: moddle= middle. turture=torture.

Where can I get this and is it free?
SunDance21 · 08/01/2022 07:28

@Rummikub yes it's free :) m.youtube.com/watch?v=CscxGprl1yw&t=620s in case that link doesn't work, if you look at all her videos on YouTube, it was posted about 3 months ago 😊
