Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

@UnaOfStormhold

Wasn't me who asked about chaturanga - one of my favourite poses tbh it feels so good always for me though I totally get how some people may find it tricky. Adrienne does explain it but when I first started 7 years ago I had to watch some of her foundations of yoga videos to 'get it'. That one you linked is indeed helpful. My issue is my shoulder strength for example on side plank. But I have techniques to get around that

I found day 4 fab. One of my all time favourite poses is warrior 2 where I just feel so strong and like a real yogi! The flows are great and if you love them Adrienne does loads of them and I often add a 20 minute one into my daily practice.
So,pleased everyone is end this years 30 days! Even my DD1 is doing it

Day 4 complete. I enjoyed the faster pace today (I don't have the strength to hold poses for long! Grin )

Anyone else find that their inhale is much shorter than their exhale?!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 06/01/2022 12:50

I've got a USA Pro mat which is fine. Don't think it's specifically a yoga one but it does the job.
Day 5 when I get home from work later.

tootyfruitypickle · 06/01/2022 13:04

Day 5 done. Was ok, stretchy ,day 4 has been my favourite so far
I think day 6 is the killer abs one presumably why day 5 was a bit slower...!!

Gufo · 06/01/2022 13:48

Loved the Day 4 flow - it makes me feel like a proper yogi :D I just did Day 5 and it's my favourite so far - my hips are usually so tight, so after pigeon AND lizard, they now feel like jelly!

I used to hate the breath stuff, but am finally starting to get it, and even enjoy it. [where's the yoga emoji?]

I've been doing yoga for a year now (lockdown cliche) and think I'd have struggled starting from scratch with this 30 Day Challenge - it seems to assume more previous knowledge/experience than her other videos do.

CeibaTree · 06/01/2022 14:30

Day 5 done - this was my favourite day so far, I love pigeon pose!
I got this yoga mat which seems good so far and has the same alignment markings as the Lifeform one, and is a quarter of the price!

cungryhow · 06/01/2022 14:40

Day 5 done for me too! The 30 minutes are passing really quickly and I’m not constantly looking at the time to see how long I have left so that’s really positive. Felt able to control my breath well today and didn’t notice it going raggedy. I am sure it will be a very different story tomorrow! Am liking the slightly different transitions she seems to be mixing it up with .

itssquidstella · 06/01/2022 14:54

I went to a real life yoga class yesterday so I’m a day behind - will be doing day 4 this evening, but I'll try to do days 5 and 6 together tomorrow (if my abs can take it!).

Rummikub · 06/01/2022 14:59

Day 4 done
Can’t cope with downward dog so I do my own waggy dog version to save my wrists 😂

BigGreen · 06/01/2022 15:42

I just started day 1- my second ever yoga experience Smile.

misskatamari · 06/01/2022 17:13

Just done day 5. I enjoyed today, nice bit of a rest after how challenging i found the first couple of days. I felt stronger doing downward dog today (may be just because it was shorter), but I managed to do that going from dd to the bit where you go lower, with your chest up, which surprised me, so hopefully I am getting stronger :D I've just ordered that mat @CeibaTree thanks for sharing. My current one is a cheapie aldi one i've had years, which moults bits everywhere. Looking forward to my snazzy new yellow one arriving :D
A bit nervous of abs day tomorrow lol!

CeeCeeDeeBee · 06/01/2022 17:15

Day 5 is my favourite so far, I love lizard and pigeon! I found yesterday's quite boring, but probably just wasn't in the right headspace.

Six pack abs tomorrow 😬

Lightstoobright · 06/01/2022 17:20

Day 4 for me today. Anyone else struggle with stepping the foot through to the top of the mat? I can never step as far as my hands!

Cool discovery... I can make porridge in my rice cooker! Loaded everything in before yoga session, hit the on button and it was ready after the session. Lush!

bordermidgebite · 06/01/2022 17:36

I think what I like about Adrienne yoga is that I don't think she minds if you " adjust " till it "feels good " for you

In other words, walk or lift your foot into position is quite fine and you are not the only one

There are loads of transitions that my knees can't handle , but every now and then I get pleasantly surprised

poorbuthappy · 06/01/2022 18:25

Just did 4 and 5. Aim to be caught up by the weekend. I can't believe how painful sitting cross legged is for me. The outside of the outside foot if you get me rubs on the mat and gets very sore after literally seconds. Totally distracts me.

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 06/01/2022 18:33

I liked day 5 today. Pigeon is always good and the lizard to DD transitions were a really good move I haven’t done before. I found yesterday’s too repetitive from what we’d done in previous days (and from Dedicate), tbh I started freestyling it with some other moves which I need to practice in the second half of it Blush

cungryhow · 06/01/2022 19:45

Nice one @BigGreen, enjoy ! My feet pinch when sitting cross legged @poorbuthappy, I think I must have too much excess skin on them!

Twasacceptableinthe80s · 06/01/2022 20:24

Just accidentally clicked on the wrong video and redid Day 5 from last year 🙈. I only realised at the end when I thought “I’m sure mumsnet said we do lizard and pigeon today”. I eventually found the right class and did it too as I love the stretchy videos the best 😁.

Have also made myself a big vat of her Yogi Tea this year and I’ve been having a cup of it afterwards which I am also really enjoying as part of my daily ritual…

Redcrayons · 06/01/2022 20:31

Day 5 done. Almost managed to get my right leg up into lunge from DD, so that’s progress.

Enjoyed that, there were some new moves I hadn’t done before which is nice. I tend to stick the the same ones outside of the 30 days so good to do something to different.

On to the 6 pack tomorrow Shock

Languidleopard · 06/01/2022 20:32

Completed day 5 this evening. Started a bit slow for me but agree with the poster who mentioned the interesting transitions. Those were my favourite bits. My mind was very jumpy after a sedentary day working at my kitchen table. Lack of pace aside, this practice balanced me out beautifully.

I'm looking forward to abs day as I feel my post Christmas waistline needs some attention 😬 I may repeat day 4 tomorrow first thing, as I was too knackered to appreciate it yesterday and save day 6 for Saturday.

As far as mats go, I have a Yoga Matters one which seems still seems to have retained its stickiness after a year. Would recommend!

SuddenArborealStop · 06/01/2022 20:44

I loved the day 4 flow and I'll revisit that video. Day 5 was just what I needed though I was feeling really tight after work and I love trying to melt into the mat but I feel lazy if I do yin yoga so it's good to be "allowed"

Shinyandnew2022 · 06/01/2022 21:06

Day 5 done ✅ . Also really enjoyed today the time went so fast. Still got a niggly ache in my shoulder but managed to get through ok today.
Used to love pigeon but it felt a bit alien today - probably just been so long since I have done it to be
Honest .
Felt so good afterwards and am amazed my how determined I am to get to the mat each day!

Weepingwillows12 · 06/01/2022 21:14

I like day 5. Was in the mood for a stretchy one today.

parrotonmyshoulder · 06/01/2022 21:32

Day 5 done. Not my favourite so far but okay and I was just pleased if made time for it. I like pigeon a lot. Didn’t like the up dog type shape/ transition but my lower back is a bit sensitive so I just did one.

RagzReturnedUnwrapped · 06/01/2022 23:43

Really, really wasn't going to do today but knew I'd feel better for it. Which I did. Interesting new movements. I enjoyed it. Struggle to relax my shoulders when I lie flat, I find myself tensing them. Really find it hard to 'melt'.
