Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

I'm here poised and no day 4?

tootyfruitypickle · 05/01/2022 10:02

Ah found it it yay!

EmmaStone · 05/01/2022 10:17

Day 3 done before work this morning - quite nice, but I'm so much tighter in the mornings, makes everything feel much harder. Actually found all the planks ok - even my bad shoulder coped on the side planks. Much preferring it so far with the movement - as a PP mentioned, some of the previous cycles have been a bit too waffley with too long in stillness, especially for such short sessions.

NoMoreTractors · 05/01/2022 14:46

Finally completed day 1. Felt challenging after 3 weeks off from yoga but I enjoyed it and feel better for it. Looking forward to doing day 2 tommorow.

Sooverthemill · 05/01/2022 14:53

Dis day 3 today ( I am always going to behind I can tell). Side planks are hard for me because of shoulder issues as are the opposite arm leg stretches but I love it so far! I am not a beginner but I always ease off in December

I did Day 3 this morning but think I might have to switch to evenings. I'm not a morning person and it was so much harder to keep my balance.

rifling · 05/01/2022 15:37

Day 3 was really hard!

CanapeWader · 05/01/2022 16:34

Day3. Bloody hell, no side plank for me, just couldn't manage it. I did enjoy today overall but if definitely highlighted how weak and unstable I am.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 05/01/2022 16:52

Ugh I started late and only just finished Day 3-popped on here for some motivation to keep going/catch up.

My yoga dropped off during lockdown and I was shocked at how much I had lost.

Still I managed the side planks and can't wait for the results in my post Christmas core etc.

I know the strength and improvement will come so I am going to keep at it...

tootyfruitypickle · 05/01/2022 16:59

I found day 4 much easier and more relaxing than day 3!

Racingadmin · 05/01/2022 17:04

Day 4 - really enjoyed it but I'm not natural at flow as always having to think about right and left. Abs definitely feel like they have been worked

cungryhow · 05/01/2022 17:23

Day 4 enjoyed the break with the breath work and normally that’s my least favourite part!

namechange5575 · 05/01/2022 17:53

Thanks @Sooverthemill. I found Day 3 the easiest so far. Still hard but I was able to hold the plank for a bit longer, and some of the other positions too.

AHobbyaweek · 05/01/2022 18:25

Day 4 done. I prefer the faster pace as it makes the session go quicker but the ab bit was tough for me!!

RhubarbAndMustard · 05/01/2022 19:01

Day 3 done and found it much easier than the first 2 days, except I got cramp in my big toe and spent the end of the session hopping around.

Hope that doesn't happen again. Sooo painful!

Weepingwillows12 · 05/01/2022 19:19

I like the flow as you move on before anything gets too painful. Still waiting for the have a nice stretch then lie under a blanket day 😁

Languidleopard · 05/01/2022 19:28

I doubled up today and did day 3 before work and day 4 after. I enjoyed them both! Very happy about the focus on developing core strength 💪as I know this is my weakest area.

I had an early start and late night yesterday so my energy felt low today. Physically I felt fine doing the 2 sessions in one day, but my brain was struggling with day 4. Anyone else have this? I kept finding myself facing the wrong way or lunging with the wrong leg 😆 I also felt very wobbly on the high lunges.

When I did get my brain engaged, I found the breath work very soothing for my tired head. I think I need to give day 4 another go when I feel less knackered.

BalancingStick · 05/01/2022 19:34

Felt really strong on day 4. Did it before dinner and this evening is feeling nice and serene

parrotonmyshoulder · 05/01/2022 19:42

I really enjoyed day 4 as well. I could manage the high lunges which I’ve previously been very wobbly in. I like the cartwheel to twist thing.

tootyfruitypickle · 05/01/2022 19:50

My sore hip and leg isn't at all sore this evening which is amazing. I'm thinking of giving up expensive physio and just doing a daily yoga practice instead .

misskatamari · 05/01/2022 19:57

Hello! Jumping on the thread as well. I’ve managed all four days and eeek I am feeling it! My abs were aching so much last night and I could really feel it around my tops of arms/rib cage. I’ve never properly done yoga consistently, but have done videos here and there. I do weekly Pilates though, and have been building strength with that. I’m definitely finding this hard though, especially the transitions. Day four was very fast for me, and I wasn’t keen at first, but I managed better after the breathwork interlude. I’m really enjoying it so far, and hope I manage to keep up the practice as mentally, I feel so much better for it

Talisin · 05/01/2022 20:25

How is day 4 in terms of twists and stuff that affects the lower back? I’m deciding whether or not to rest it today and do 4 and 5 tomorrow instead (thus also avoiding pine needles from de-Christmassing earlier).

Lightstoobright · 05/01/2022 20:30

I did Day 3 this morning as I prefer to do it as soon as I wake up, and she doesn't release a new one til much later in the morning (UK time).
Really enjoying it so far. Looking forward to tomorrow. I love how she congratulates us for getting to the mat. It's exactly what I need to hear.

parrotonmyshoulder · 05/01/2022 20:32

@Talisin
I missed out the cobras and up dogs today as my lower back has been on and off painful for a while. These can make it worse for me.
I did a really good ‘yoga for back pain’ video of Adriene’s last week and it made a huge difference.

Shinyandnew2022 · 05/01/2022 20:38

Day 4 done here too. I love reading everyone's comments and how everyone has such a different experience.
I have been exhausted today and am proud of myself for getting to the mat - but I really struggled with some aches and pains and wobbling in the high
Lunges so it wasn't my favourite day. Hope I feel better tomorrow as I feel stubborn about not wanting to miss a day !
