Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

Me and Dh did day 1 yesterday, he managed it all,I had to stop at some points. Glad we did it, enjoyed it.

Sooverthemill · 04/01/2022 12:50

@namechange5575 it just kind of happens! I've been doing these each year since 2016

@plus3

Day 3 done - my favourite so far
Me too, I absolutely loved today's. Much nicer flow than the previous two. And I loved the tip to flow up the opposite arm for the shoulder stretches in the big twists. Made it so much easier for me with my tight shoulders.

This definitely feels like a trickier start than previous thirty days but I love the fact it is a challenge from the get go
@Rummikub I felt wobbly and tired for the most part Grin do you think that's what she meant?
Grin
It must be as that’s how I felt.
My balance was rubbish!

CanapeWader · 04/01/2022 14:00

Was just doing something and thought God my arms feel like I've been lifting weights, what the hell have I been doing. Then it dawned on me that yoga is essentially lifting weights isn't it? I always forget how hard your muscles have to work to hold you up in certain poses

SingingSands · 04/01/2022 14:20

I've signed up along with a friend to keep us accountable.

I like doing my practice in the evening as part of a routine to get me off my phone before bed. Was annoyed by DH barging into the bedroom halfway through last night and setting up the ironing board. He won't be doing that tonight!

Looking forward to seeing what Day 3 brings Smile

tootyfruitypickle · 04/01/2022 15:16

Did day 3 and had to break during the standing lunges/stretches but I think that's my crap hips / quads. Thinking of doing the 30 days then going round again to see if I can manage the bits I've had to sit out .

guinnessguzzler · 04/01/2022 15:37

That's a good idea, @tootyfruitypickle

I've just done Day 3, definitely my best so far.

GreenNettle · 04/01/2022 16:01

Good idea to go round again once the 30 days are over, hopefully we’d be able to notice an improvement. I enjoyed day 3 although my abs hurt from yesterday!

Ahhh, that's why changing the king size duvet whilst wearing the baby on my front was so tiring! I wondered why my arms were being so feeble...
DelightfulDinosaurs · 04/01/2022 16:47

@Rummikub I'll take solace in that then!

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 04/01/2022 17:19

Side plank on day three 😂 Adriene really did not come to play this year, did she!

EmmaStone · 04/01/2022 17:23

Day 2 done, my shoulders are really struggling, but I have a suspected torn rotator cuff injury (and haven't been doing my physio over Xmas...), so I'm putting it down to that...

Ran this morning before yoga again, my hips killed trying to do the bicycle kicks.

Stillcrikey · 04/01/2022 17:42

Day 3 done. I really enjoyed it (no way can I do a side plank though). Found today easier on my wrists and felt I didn’t need to keep looking at her as much.
Back to work tomorrow so my plan is to try to do this in my lunch break (well, the plan is to actually have a break as I haven’t really since wfh, so hopefully two new good habits formed in one go).
It’s great being on this thread and knowing I’m not alone.

MilduraS · 04/01/2022 17:51

I'm a day behind you all. I did Day 1 today after accidentally doing day 2 yesterday. Now I understand what you meant. My wrists are so weak! I really like that the videos are 30 minutes. It's long enough to feel like I've done something but not so long that I start losing the will to live or making excuses about being busy.

moiraswigs · 04/01/2022 17:54

I'm in. I followed Adrienne for a good bit last year and then started branching out, but I do enjoy the 30 day series. Day 3 later tonight, already groaning at the thought of side planks.

Have I misunderstood, I thought these were for beginners?

cungryhow · 04/01/2022 18:07

Enjoyed today although my arse was shouting at me in the bridges at the beginning 😊.

Shinyandnew2022 · 04/01/2022 18:13

Day 3 in the bag here too !
I like how I have found my non lunging leg people here too - I genuinely thought when I used to go to classes (years ago !) that I was the only one who couldn't do it easily / gracefully so am glad to not be alone.
I had a really grumpy mood all day today - back to school / work tomorrow so got the end of holiday blues and loads of dull tasks on my to do list . The time on the mat has really helped me reset my mood - wish I had done it earlier.
Three days in and I am starting to feel like this is a habit I really want to commit to .
I am achy in various bits of my body but it's a satisfying ache .

Snowiscold · 04/01/2022 18:23

@EmmaH2022
I’m a complete beginner as of two days ago. But I don’t think this 30-day course is particularly aimed at complete beginners. I’m just doing what I can and pausing on the bits I can’t.

AThroneOfLies · 04/01/2022 18:34

I’m a day behind as want to do them in the mornings.
I too am struggling with aching wrists.
And when she goes from plank and swings one leg forward seamlessly into a lunge…..please tell me I’m not the only one who can’t do it and has to adjust my leg a bit to get in the right position Blush

AThroneOfLies · 04/01/2022 18:36

Just read further back comments and can see I’m not the only one who can’t do the seamless plank to lunge, hope we all get there eventually but glad I’m not the only oneGrin

SuddenArborealStop · 04/01/2022 18:40

Is the lunge issue the transition from 3 legged dog to low lunge?

I had trouble with that for ages but it's mainly about giving yourself space to move the leg.
Take it slow , move your body forward onto your arms as you're lowering your leg, pull the leg in towards your chest and move even further forwards on your arms and pull the leg the rest of the way through.

Sorry if that's not the issue or my description doesn't make sense I find a lot of transitions difficult to do elegantly.

SuddenArborealStop · 04/01/2022 18:41

Oh I see the issue is plank to lunge, I think that would be similar, weight onto your arms knee to chest and pull the leg through slowly.

SimonedeBeauvoirscat · 04/01/2022 18:47

I suspect those who are short of arm or large of nork may find things like DD to lunge or lunge to plank harder … anyone wanna confirm / deny?!
