Who's signed up? I've done these every year since 2016 and I can't wait! Although my health has been poor this year I've managed to practice at home almost every day. I love the kickstart these give my year

Day 2 complete - I'm definitely more out of shape than I thought! But I just kept reminding myself that the half hour today and yesterday was much more than I've done in the days/weeks before that.

tootyfruitypickle · 03/01/2022 13:38

I'm walking a bit like I've been on a horse after day 2 - but that's my dodgy hip. Definitely feel better doing this and making the commitment .

Good point! I only recently finished one of the other 30 day programmes, but I did have a few days off since and had my booster, which hit me pretty hard, so hoping I'll start finding it a bit easier soon.

Well done to us all for keeping going!

DelightfulDinosaurs · 03/01/2022 14:26

I still haven't managed to do day one yet but am hoping to get to it later this afternoon. I'm already predicting sore wrists and it being difficult based on all of your comments!

A somewhat sideways step off-topic, but, those of you talking about hypermobility - thank you for the prompt. I've been wondering for years about whether I'm hyper mobile or not, and you've reminded me to look into it properly this year. Perhaps the yoga will help me to work it out?

Sparkai · 03/01/2022 14:50

Would anybody mind posting the timetable to MOVE? I signed up late (yesterday) and was sent the intro email, but no timetable. It'd be good to plan things in when I go back to work tomorrow

saltandherbsandnothingnice · 03/01/2022 14:51

I will be starting tonight!

Here you go

Enjoyed day two, liked the pace and not too much chat. Last year was a bit wordy for me. Shoulders feel nice and open now.

plus3 · 03/01/2022 16:24

Day 2 done - I am very wobbly but got through (just about!)
I don’t yet how I will complete every day on the day - I work 12hr shifts & not sure if I will want to do this before bed…this has been my downfall before though.

Sooverthemill · 03/01/2022 16:51

@SnapCackleFlop that's brilliant thank you! How did I miss this? I do wonder if I should sign up to the app again but I was a founder member and decided against keeping it with my lifetime low fee . Damn

The positions in the first two sessions are very reminiscent of Dedicate … anyone else who’s a veteran YWA-er think so?! I’ve just spent two months re-doing Dedicate daily, and this doesn’t feel like a change at all. On the plus side it means I’m reasonably competent so far!

Weepingwillows12 · 03/01/2022 17:06

Day 2 done this morning. Found it ok but reminded me how much I dislike downward dog (and how much Adrienne loves it). I had never considered body shape before. I have really weak arms so I start shaking quick and it hurts so I figure the only way to improve is to do it more and hold as long as I can but to drop out early if needed.

To be honest though, my favourites are always the lazy stretches then lie under a blanket ones 😁 rather than the hard work ones....

CeibaTree · 03/01/2022 17:20

Day two done, I surprised myself by holding the planks for the full time, I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow though. I agree it's a bit of a shame they are released so late in the morning, I'd prefer to do it before I started work, it's harder to find time once the day has properly started for the rest of the household!

Shinyandnew2022 · 03/01/2022 17:27

Day two done here too - am enjoying reading everyone's comments.
Am far too rusty to hold the planks fully yet but it wasn't too bad.
I too would love to be able to flow easily from downward dog to lunge - at the moment I have to drag my leg through in a very ungainly fashion.
I spent last year losing weight after several years of gaining far too much and now I need to work on fitness so I am really excited to see what progress I can make in the first 30 days .

parrotonmyshoulder · 03/01/2022 18:02

Day two done. Harder than the usual day 2’s I thought. Wasn’t expecting so much core work, especially the bicycles at the end!
Enjoyed it though. I like the twist lunge thing.
Anyone find sphynx really hard?

Redcrayons · 03/01/2022 18:13

Day 2 done.
I’m quite annoyed with myself for falling off the yoga wagon as I found that more difficult than I would have done 3 months ago.

Couldn’t hold the planks for the full time and my arms got tired quite easily. Looking forward to some big improvements by the end of the month.

Jedstre · 03/01/2022 18:17

Day two done. My muscles between neck and shoulders are quite sore from yesterdays practice. I realise I’ve lost quite a bit of my balance as I wobbled away trying to hold the lunges. My core strength is holding up well though and planks are ok for me. Same as shinyandnew I’m rather ungainly dragging my leg through from downward dog to lunge Grin

Jumbojem · 03/01/2022 18:32

Day 2 done for me too, and I may look into the download so I can do it early morning as back to work tomorrow, with run club in the eve so not much time.
She did warn us about waking up the abs today, and she was not joking! I did today's after a run and I had a sore right hip going into it but feel great after, it really did the trick of loosening it up.
Someone mentioned tight hamstrings, the forward fold sequences in today's will definitely help with those, and tight calves. I start to feel queasy if there's too much forward folding for some reason?

Snowiscold · 03/01/2022 18:43

I went into day 2 with low expectations after I struggled with day 1. I think that helps psychologically - to do what I can, and what I can do is better than sitting on the sofa. I still have to drop out of some exercises. Eg: I can’t drag my leg through to do the lunge after the downward dog; I have to go to my knees and reposition. However, I can do the plank. Who knows if I’m doing any of it right, though!

Languidleopard · 03/01/2022 18:48

Day 2 completed 🙌

I really liked the pace and variety of this one and have highlighted it on my calendar as one to return to. I enjoy core work so it was right up my street, particularly the yoga bicycles at the end. I felt pleasingly out of breath and slightly sweaty by the end 😅

Day 3 is going to be tricky for me as I'm back at work tomorrow, have an early start and am going out in the evening. I may try snd squeeze it in at lunch time or try to double up on Day 4 😬

SuddenArborealStop · 03/01/2022 18:59

@Fhee for sweaty hands and feet,I have both, I use yoga paws. I use a yoga towel on top of my mat when I can't find the paws which is frequently as I'm unorganised.

dairyfarmerswife · 03/01/2022 19:02

Yep done here too. The bicycle legs were the hardest for me although I can't do all the downward dog either. Again no idea if I'm doing it right. Half an hour is about right - I find myself thinking it's going to go slowly and then pleasantly surprised when I'm done. One thing, I don't have a yoga mat. How necessary is it?

SuddenArborealStop · 03/01/2022 19:02

I wasn't planning on doing 30 days this year but my downward dog app wouldn't load when I went to do my 30 minutes and I figured adrienne would be about the same length. I'm glad I did as it was a nice one with little faffing. I did do it after a hot chocolate so there was too much upside down for me but it was my own fault.

Gufo · 03/01/2022 19:25

Day 2 done - the bicycles were a surprise at the end Wine

Enjoyed this one, and expect to feel it tomorrow!

becca3210 · 03/01/2022 20:02

Well done everyone. Day 2 done here. The moving leg bicycle move was a challenge. Really needed some calm after a full on day.
