Who is going to do Adriene’s 30 day programme January 2021?

I’ve done the last few years and try to do a video most days throughout the year. I like the structure of the 30 days. I think my favourite was Home as the length (short) of the videos suited what I had time for. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come.

I haven't checked in on this thread in a while but I've been managing the yoga each day and for the most part, I am really enjoying it. I still don't love the breathing bits but it's less prominent than I feared and I can stick with it. I've really liked the last few days of practices.

I've just signed up for my old Pilates teacher on YouTube which is an hour's class so I may do that instead a few days and move my finish date forward.
I like the coherence of this set of classes more than her usual mud and match so I may try one of her other full month sets next.

drspouse · 13/01/2021 22:22

*mix and match.

I did day 12 and 13 together which was a mistake - I will try and remember to do hip openers tomorrow as well to see if there's any change.

drspouse · 14/01/2021 08:16

Did day 13 today as I'm saving the short day for another time. I got some cork wedges and a cork block and love them! Used the wedges for the crouching pose. Really helpful!

Sooverthemill · 14/01/2021 09:01

Did day 13. Another fab session for me and nothing too tricky though holding poses for ages while she Whitters on makes me a bit cross!

ApolloandDaphne · 14/01/2021 09:20

I enjoyed todays practice and found it very relaxing.

NotMyDayJob · 14/01/2021 09:46

Just done day 12 so all caught up assuming I can do day 13 later today. I want to be on track as I know there's a couple of days later this month I will have to miss a day and double up again. Plus it would be nice to do the days with everyone else. Hips a bit sore after doing 10 and 11 together yesterday, my pigeon is a dead pigeon.

niceupthedance · 14/01/2021 17:19

I wish my dog was as docile as Benji, he spends the whole time whining and scratching at the door (impossible to do yoga with him in the room as he joins in).

Really enjoyed day 13 and feel a bit stronger in plank now 💪

I really enjoyed Day 13 - loved the boats - but yes, she did seem to be especially talkative in this one! We’re getting close to halfway through now and I think this is close to becoming my favourite 30 Days since Yoga Camp. Anyway, to celebrate I have treated myself to some new leggings as all my exercise stuff seems to be getting a bit tatty and uninspiring.

I enjoyed day 13 although hadn’t been in the mood beforehand. I quite liked the freestyle bits. The twists were within my reach today too.

I actually liked the boats too, normally I'm not a fan.

UnaOfStormhold · 14/01/2021 19:56

Nice one today, one of the things I like most about YWA is the emphasis on feeling the way into the poses rather than forcing and today was nice for that. I think the chatting through some of the tougher poses is deliberate to help keep us distracted while we stay there!

Sooverthemill · 15/01/2021 10:43

I did day 14 today and it was fab even though I was dreading it as it's 36 minutes which is really a big long for me at the moment with a very poorly DD who needs stuff pretty much all the time plus a sick old dog and an annoying DH who keeps asking 'when will you be finished?' As I use the sitting room which is where he has to WFH. Talk about stressful.plus my cat came to sit in me, under me, through me the whole time. However I enjoyed it so much, how does Adrienne know which days I need shoulder work? She's psychic

EmmaStone · 15/01/2021 11:50

I missed Day 13 yesterday, was having a bad day. I've managed to be cheerfully optimistic throughout most of the pandemic, but yesterday I just couldn't do it. Of course, it's those day when you really SHOULD do yoga, but I didn't. I did do a Peloton spin class in the evening instead, with my favourite instructor, and that did help me, as well as a good parents' evening for my DS (who was actually the source for some of the day's anxiety). My work is being incredible around mental health, really encouraging us to take care of ourselves and each other, and offering support however we need it. Thankfully, I woke up today back on track.

Today's my day off from work (and I AM taking it off today, albeit just keeping a loose eye on emails), so I've just caught up and done day 13 & 14 back to back. Started very tight, finished feeling loose. My shoulders ache really quickly when doing the beach ball holds and warriors, not sure why, but am sure doing the exercises helps. Going for a walk with a friend this afternoon, which should be good for my mood too. Beware Blue Monday, clearly mine came early 😂.

DH is suffering with a bad back at the moment, it got to about 10 days of pain, with a couple of suggestions from me of maybe trying some yoga being grumpily dismissed. Yesterday morning when he said he'd have to work in bed, I brought up the number of my osteopath, and he managed to get seen. Guess what my osteo recommended? Yup, some yoga. DH was going to do an Apple Fitness+ yoga workout, but I suggested he try a YWA targeted bad back video instead, and he actually took my advice, and admitted it was quite helpful. He's still in pain today, but will be doing more YWA to help. She's a wonder.

drspouse · 15/01/2021 12:10

Also done day 14, it didn't feel that long!

NotMyDayJob · 15/01/2021 12:48

Day 14 done, although I had to answer the door in the middle! I enjoyed it though, but I think I've got a bit used to the shorter oned

Enb76 · 15/01/2021 15:22

Day 14 done - did not feel very long at all. I liked this one quite a lot

Redcrayons · 15/01/2021 17:22

Day 14 done.

Enjoyed this one, there’s a couple of moves from the running video that I do regularly, so didn’t feel too hard. Wrapped myself up in the blanket at the end as it was a bit cold.

Could do with a really long slow and stretchy one tomorrow.

itssquidstella · 15/01/2021 18:11

I loved today's practice: my shoulders are really tight from a mixture of HIIT classes and hunching over my desk as I work from home, so they definitely benefited from the stretch.

DH came into the room with a bowl of snacks as I was finishing up, so I was eating beef jerky during savasana - not sure Adriene would approve!

parrotonmyshoulder · 15/01/2021 20:42

I needed a long one today (to escape from children after a day of home learning and WFH!) and was pleased with this one. Some interesting bits and the twists all felt...nice... ‘yummy’?

I'm really enjoying this series so far and feel I'm improving.

sycamore54321 · 15/01/2021 21:47

I've just completed day 14 and really enjoyed. Some new moves I hadn't seen on her videos before and I like how she jumped straight in without lots of contemplation first. I'm also delighted that I can now (almost without realising) happily manage the move where you step your foot up to the top from three-legged dog. I was dismayed at the start of this series to find how stiff I'd gotten and that was impossible for me at first. Now just two weeks in, I'm doing it without thinking, on both sides. I hope that doesn't sound boastful - I just mean I find it very satisfying to see concrete progress in such a short space. Thanks to everyone here for the motivation.

UnaOfStormhold · 16/01/2021 09:07

I was doing it tired and late in the evening after a 10k run so day 14 really felt long for me, but proud of myself for getting all the way through, and some good stretches for my tired legs.

Sooverthemill · 16/01/2021 09:47

Done day 15! Half way through. Excellent day today, I had a tricky night and did it straight after leaving DDs room at 7.30 half asleep myself but it woke me up.
