Who is going to do Adriene’s 30 day programme January 2021?

I’ve done the last few years and try to do a video most days throughout the year. I like the structure of the 30 days. I think my favourite was Home as the length (short) of the videos suited what I had time for. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come.

Just working myself up to getting out of bed and doing day 9.
I thought day 6 wasn't as hard as usual this year - aren't there normally hip dips?
Enjoyed day 7.
Didn't like day 8. I found all the leaning forward floor stuff really uncomfortable.

I have just done day 9. Lets just say I was less balance, more wobble!

@parrotonmyshoulderParrotonmyshoulder does it help if you put a block or blanket under your knees so they don't come down so much? Alternatively you could have the knees on the floor but with the opposite shoulder well off the ground - you could even start in a foetal position on your side and then gently shift your upper shoulder towards the mat until you get a subtle stretch that works for you.

I have tight hips and found the "wrong side" crossed legs difficult, so did what I could and then shifted to badakonasana.

I don't remember day 9 being particularly hard in previous years, I think day 8 is gentle as people may be sore from day 6. My arms and shoulders are quite stiff this morning, not sure if that's from the one-armed planks or because I slept in a funny position last night.

I am a day behind so was planning on doing 2 today. I thought it might be nice to do day 9 before day 8 if day 8 is stretch and blanket? Good idea?

Done day 8, I think there are a couple of sub-20, mins coming up so I'll save them till I have a bit longer.

I am a day behind so trying to catch up and do day 9 and 10 today. I loved the stretching in day 8. Day 9 least said the better apart from my balance is diabolical Haha

Just realised I got my days wrong. I loved day 7. Doing 8 and 9 today although the wrong way around due to confusion. Snuggle after balance!

Day 9 done. Not too bad though found warrior 3 harder than previously.
@parrotonmyshoulder to echo @UnaOfStormhold try a cushion under your knee when crossed so it's supported. Have you tried any poses for your hips? I have had massive issues with my hips and as doa. Shirt session at bed time for hips often do plus any others I can think of.

I found the happy baby pose a bit weird so not sure I did it right. My hips felt weird then i got twinges in my back so decided to stop as i have had back problems in the past and dont want them again.

Balance done. Conclusion - we have no balance. It was me and DP continually falling over and knocking the other one in our rather cramped living room as our dogs looked on from the sofa in confusion.

I enjoyed day 9 and thought it went really quickly. My balance is so much better on my right leg than my left, though, no matter how much strength and conditioning I do to try to even it out!

Thanks for the advice above - I’ll certainly try those ideas. I’m very flexible so used to lots of things coming easily - I think I need to change my mindset a lot with the hips.
Day 9 was nice. Short and simple.

Did anyone else do the triangle variation on the same side twice? We were listening not looking and she said "extend your right leg" but did her left leg - then same again a bit later! Never mind. Did this one with DD and she has amazing balance and flexibility mind you she is 19 and a dancer :D

Really enjoyed D 8 & 9 although my short limbs don't make poses like happy baby easy.

All done. Not so enjoyable this one. I don’t like the nose breathing, so skipped a bit through that, and my balance is poor so I looked like I was drunk. Don’t feel I got much out of this one.

I also realised I was doing the same leg twice, so switched, but thought it was my mistake.

Nose breathing less enjoyable when you have a bit of a cold!

Pleased that my balance was ok and before I knew it, it was finished.

I've just done day 5, have done yoga for years but really let it go in the last year. Only read about the 30 days once it had started. Hoping to do a couple of sessions back to back over the month to catch up!

@clary I realised part way through first leg she had said the wrong leg so just carried on and did other one next. I hardly ever watch her so totally follow her voice

I liked the nose breathing! Felt like dozing off afterwards.

Also tricked by the double leg mistake but swapped mid-triangle. Balance not so bad, but neither ankle was happy with holding the weight for so long.

I do love that each day is so different. This is the first exercise (?) I've ever done that I actually look forward to every day.

Did day 8 today, and was slightly disappointed that it wasn’t 20 minutes under a blanket, which was what I had been expecting Grin

Day 9 done while the roast was cooking 😁. Not a massive fan of the nostril breathing, I seem to get all congested and then panic I'm not getting enough air in, but it wasn't too bad. Balance IS one thing I can do ok, so enjoyed the warrior 3s, and thanks to the wrong leg comments below, knew to look out for it. I always tend to start a move with my right side, so may have realised eventually! At the end I did some pigeon poses to help with my back niggles (I'm supposed to do them daily, so have been trying to tag on each day), and some more of the sitting stretches from day 8 as I'd found them so uncomfortable yesterday. Will keep doing them to help mobilise my hips a bit more.

Day 10 done. Really didn’t want to do it as I had a dreadful nights sleep but it’s only 20 minutes snd was actually fine. Almost easy!
