Who is going to do Adriene’s 30 day programme January 2021?

I’ve done the last few years and try to do a video most days throughout the year. I like the structure of the 30 days. I think my favourite was Home as the length (short) of the videos suited what I had time for. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come.

@Electrocute1980 how do you find the pillow? I'm tempted to get one!

Londt · 08/01/2021 15:55

Thank you @Sooverthemill Smile

niceupthedance · 08/01/2021 16:17

I skipped day 6 as just couldn't face it but back on the horse with day 7 and what a lush practice it was. Feel loads better than earlier today.

Electrocute1980 · 08/01/2021 17:00

@itssquidstella it’s this one www.shaktimat.co.uk/collections/all/products/shakti-acupressure-pillow-black

It looks like they are sold out though! Worth every penny once they are back in stock :)

Really enjoyed day 7- think my shoulders did too after a day of hunching over the laptop

Redcrayons · 08/01/2021 17:08

Really enjoyed day 7, loved the twist arm shoulder move at the beginning, I really needed that.

Still a little bit too much Listening to your breathing for my liking, but good one all the same.

Day 8, please tell me that’s the usually a lie on the floor with a blanket day. I’m aching.

itssquidstella · 08/01/2021 18:55

I loved that twisting at the start of day 7, too! I feel really limber now. Nice to have a gentler practice today; I'm looking forward to lying under a blanket for 20 minutes tomorrow 😆

Talisin · 08/01/2021 21:00

Day 7 done and that was really what I needed tonight. It didn’t feel difficult but I just coughed and can suddenly really feel my ribs.

Has anyone else got the sidebar ad for Sampoona Yoga? I’m a bit worried about that bloke’s shorts...

Taswama · 08/01/2021 21:17

I did two yoga sessions on Weds so took the day off. Did day 6 this morning.
That shakti mat looks really interesting!

EssentiallyDelighted · 08/01/2021 22:09

I did day 7 this evening, really enjoyed it, then spent another three hours at the laptop so back to hunched again. Never mind.

sycamore54321 · 08/01/2021 22:55

LOved day 7. Took me a while to get into it but I really enjoyed it. I’m already starting to see more flexibility in Down Dog after the 7 days

Sooverthemill · 09/01/2021 09:00

@itssquidstella it was the windmill one at the start! Is it even yoga? Today my sides really ache.
Loved day 8. Does anyone's bum stay in the ground in that seated forward fold?

itssquidstella · 09/01/2021 09:14

@Sooverthemill oh I loved that! Haven't done day 8 yet but I might combine it with a short Five Parks vídeo if it's really gentle.

Sooverthemill · 09/01/2021 09:22

@itssquidstella oh I loved it too! Having done her yoga virtually every day for 6 years I thought I'd have done all her moves! Today was lovely, dry gentle so yes a 5 parks would probably work or a kassandra?

Magnificentbeast · 09/01/2021 10:00

I didn't manage day 7 yesterday so plan to do it today along with day 8. I would really like to keep up with the program this year. Something usually throws me off course.

I have woken up with a very sore shoulder so will see how I go.

drspouse · 09/01/2021 17:31

Also liked day 7, despite DCs coming in wanting my iPad!

Hollybutnoivy · 09/01/2021 17:41

Day 8 was so relaxing - Day 9 is going to be really hard, isn't it?

plus3 · 09/01/2021 17:45

Hi everyone, didn’t think to look for a thread! Do you mind if I join?
Was doing well & feeling quite proud, but D6 proved really very difficult (also have a very dodgy lower back & I think I was guarding it a bit too much) But D7 got me back on track.
Saving today’s for before bedtime Smile

I have started YWA several times but never made it through a continuous 30 days, always gave up. I was seriously ill last year and Breath feels like it has arrived at just the right moment for me.

Not feeling huge changes at the moment but my upper arms are slightly improving !!

parrotonmyshoulder · 09/01/2021 18:15

I had to skip most of day 8. I really can’t manage the cross legged or other seated postures. I don’t remember it being so bad before and did have a heavy fall onto my right side a couple of weeks ago. My hip has been mildly painful since but was so bad during those postures that I couldn’t do them at all. Pain and stiffness.
I also can’t do twists well at all and find them painful. Especially the lying down ones. Does anyone else find this? This isn’t new or related to the fall. I find them quite frightening! How strange.
I did like lying down at the end though!

I did days 7 and 8 back to back as I was a day behind and had enough time to do both. Really enjoyed them and day 8 wouldn't have worked so well at 7am as it did at 4pm.

Redcrayons · 09/01/2021 20:14

Day 8 done. Really enjoyed that, a nice mix of stretching and lying on the floor with a blanket.

EssentiallyDelighted · 09/01/2021 20:30

I did day 8 too, I struggled a bit to cross my legs "the wrong way" in the sitting stretches and can't get my forearms on the ground but otherwise ok. Skipped the relaxation at the end, I rarely manage to relax properly at the end of my normal classes either.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 09/01/2021 21:00

I did quite like it, as I definitely need prompting to think about my breath, but disrupted slightly by the cat running in and out of the door bringing an arctic draft with her each time. Hard to relax with a blanket when your ears are icing up.

I might spend more time before bed in the crossed-legs-to-the-side stretch as that felt shorter than the arms-out-to-the-front-and-sides stretches. Parrot are you worried that the lying down twists are using too much weight? As in, if something pinged in your lower back the weight of your legs pulling to the side would be awful?

EmmaStone · 09/01/2021 23:40

Day 8 done just before bed. Sitting stretches really difficult- my hips are clearly WAY too tight. But everything else lovely.

Talisin · 09/01/2021 23:52

I woke up with really aching back and chest muscles so I think day 7 was definitely harder than it felt at the time. A hot bath with arnica mostly sorted it but I was still feeling some twinges so glad day 8 was so slow. I did expect meditation and blanket snuggles so I was perhaps a little disappointed that it was more stretching but doubtless it was good for me. Did anyone else hear Adriene’s heartbeat coming through the mic in the last few minutes?
