Who is going to do Adriene’s 30 day programme January 2021?

I’ve done the last few years and try to do a video most days throughout the year. I like the structure of the 30 days. I think my favourite was Home as the length (short) of the videos suited what I had time for. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come.

They are meant to go up at 12am Central Texas time which should be 6am.

Talisin · 06/01/2021 16:21

Day 4 done and it was the practice that would have been perfect for me last night. Oh well. I know some people are finding it overall slow and not what they need but it’s the exact opposite for me so far - Breath is exactly what I need to start this year.

Talisin · 06/01/2021 16:24

@Redcrayons

What time do the videos go live? I was up at 6 this morning specially to do it before work and it wasn’t there. Hope it’s gentle as it’s going to have to be a bedtime special
Are you following the email link or just searching youtube for it? I was up late today so I didn’t check but it’s been available as soon as I’ve received the email other days, usually a minute or so after 6am.

Completed day 5 and enjoyed it, although wrist gave up on the balancing downward dog so hope it recovers for tomorrow.

Happy she said if I've got to day 5 I'll have no problem completing the 30 days Grin

DunravenBadger · 06/01/2021 16:38

Hi all I've done one day of this - day 2. I hadn't realised it was a yearly thing, had done day 1 of Home and clicked on day 2 breathe my mistake. I started doing yoga a few months ago as I have a joint condition and the GP recommended it for strengthening / stretching. Just wondering if people think it's worth sticking out Breathe or if I'd be better doing other videos? Previously I've done her beginners ones and the back care ones mostly but was hoping for something a bit different as I get bored doing the same 5 videos every week.

Sooverthemill · 06/01/2021 16:43

@Redcrayons if you subscribe just click the link in the email each morning round 6 and it will be in your YouTube feed. Otherwise it's hard to find

Danu2021 · 06/01/2021 16:44

Has anybody done her last year's ''Flow'' series.

If I have only one word to go on, I prefer the sound of flow.

Sooverthemill · 06/01/2021 16:46

@DunravenBadger breath is supposed to be for all abilities. All her annual 30 day Ines are. Personally I found home very gentle last year and did it a few times because I had health issues. If it's a specific joint eg hip, shoulder you may find she has a few videos for that. I do the upper back/shoulder ones often and the hip ones as those are dodgy for me. I started the 30 days program as a beginner in 2016 after doing her other videos for a few months and found them fine

Danu2021 · 06/01/2021 16:49

I'm about to start either breath or flow.

Not sure whether to go in on day 1 or day six, because I have been doing sean vigue for the first five days so going in on day 6 would not kill me.

Sooverthemill · 06/01/2021 16:58

Flow? Not YWA one

Danu2021 · 06/01/2021 17:05

oh no, I think it was just one day of the 2020 Home series was called flow.
What does YWA - oh,, no, wait, I have it! Yoga with adriene, got it.

Redcrayons · 06/01/2021 17:20

Doh! I searched YT, didn’t think about the email. Will do that tomorrow.

HerBigChance · 06/01/2021 17:30

I'm a day behind and I loved day Four! I've added it to my general Yoga playlist so that when this 30-day programme is finished, I can go back over the Adriene ones I've saved.

I liked the bridge poses and the one where you kept your leg raised while hugging the other to your chest, then swapped over. I've really noticed an increase and improvement in my strength in the five months I've been doing yoga.

poorbuthappy · 06/01/2021 18:31

Missed day 4 (naughty) but just done Day 5 and really enjoyed it.
I'm still struggling with breathing through my nose but I'm not sure that will ever change! 🤷🏼‍♀️

moiraswigs · 06/01/2021 19:10

Just finished day 5 and really enjoyed it. Was good to get right into it today. Loved the balancing dog. Was really happy to read that stepping through to lunge is hard for others as I have to drag my foot into place nearly every time.

Weepingwillows12 · 06/01/2021 19:11

I like most of day 5 but no way could I lift my hands off the floor in downward dog!

EssentiallyDelighted · 06/01/2021 19:22

Just finished Day 5 too. I couldn't manage much of the one-handed dogs either and I can't get anywhere near stepping through to lunge but it doesn't matter.

DunravenBadger · 06/01/2021 19:29

Thank you @Sooverthemill I just did day 3 and that was hard!! Will stick with it though just be a couple of days behind.

lizzie0712 · 06/01/2021 19:32

I struggled with lifting my hands in downward dog too so I dropped into a half plank and did it that way which was manageable and at least I was doing something instead of getting frustrated. I've enjoyed every day so far, it's the first time I've done this challenge, good to know I can get previous year's still to try when this is finished.

parrotonmyshoulder · 06/01/2021 19:34

Day five was hard but good. I liked the quick flow part. Surprised myself with the one handed dogs but found the sphinx almost impossible. Also the very twisty position with hands together.

Hi - I've got a quick question about Yoga with Adrienne.

People talk about 'signing up' and subscribing. I'm a bit of a YouTube novice/numpty - what does this actually mean?

Do I need to create a YouTube account? (I don't have one.)

Is it still free if you 'subscribe?'

Sorry if these are very obvious questions!

Sooverthemill · 06/01/2021 20:10

@BarelyFunctioning you can subscribe to her YouTube channel but need to sign up for YouTube ( which I have done via my google account as I have gmail). You can subscribe to the breath 30 days here which gets you a daily email with the YouTube link. You can subscribe to adriennes weekly yoga newsletter here
These are all free

If you subscribe to her YouTube channel then it brings her income via advertising but is free to you.

You can also subscribe to her app FWFG but that costs you £7.99 a month.

Eagle arms is so so hard for me. Loved it today tho.

Like others, I have to pull my leg forward for the last bit when going into a lunge. She says on several videos I have watched that this is fine! We all have different strengths - lizard is straightforward for me but I fall over in balances,

Onthebrink67 · 06/01/2021 20:29

Really enjoyed day 5. Struggled with the one handed downward dogs as I gave bad wrists but felt very relaxed by the end

drspouse · 06/01/2021 20:31

I have broken both shoulders in the past (separately) so eagle arms is basically me pointing at the ceiling!
