Very excited when the email came this morning! Is anyone else up for this?

OP posts:
drspouse · 22/03/2020 21:17

I did quite a long practice today, in preparation for the week that will be manic with DCs at home, both of us working etc.
(Self discipline I think?)
Hope the biopsy is OK; small beer but I have a physio appointment on the phone tomorrow which is a bit pointless as I already had a hands on appointment with the GP physio, and my hip has been hurting for 9 months.

mimiasovitch · 23/03/2020 08:05

What's a shelter in place order?

drspouse · 23/03/2020 08:43

Oh and DS can't go in because too many teachers are off sick/quarantine.
So that's me home educating both of them while panicking. And trying to meet a deadline that hasn't been moved on principle (external so I can't complain to anyone).
DH points out that DS is supposed to be cared for full time not two hours three times a week that's then cancelled. But nothing we can do.

Sooverthemill · 23/03/2020 09:06

@midwestspring are you in USA? Good luck

midwestspring · 23/03/2020 12:16

I'm in Chicago.
A shelter in place order is a lighter touch lockdown.
All non essential work places are shut, everything other than food and healthcare really.
We can go out to food shop and walk but must be social distancing outside.
Other than that we have to stay home.
So I need different exercise to do at home.
A sore hip drove me to Pilates six months ago and it was working well but I have no equipment at home for it.

midwestspring · 23/03/2020 15:01

Day 3 of true I enjoyed even if I wibble around like crazy.

Sooverthemill · 25/03/2020 11:26

Hi everyone, sorry AWOL as I can't exercise for a while. Really missing the calm and peace it brings. Hope you are all well. See you soon!

mimiasovitch · 25/03/2020 15:01

Can you do one of Adriene's meditations? I've not done any, but am considering it. Yesterday I did a deep stretch practice. It was quite tough but I got through it. Today I did yoga for rebirth, which I did last week (I forgot). Only 25 mins but hard! I really need to keep some sort of a diary

Sooverthemill · 25/03/2020 15:07

I have done before, tbh not so keen but that might be good. I sue headspace at bedtime though at the moment an excellent audiobook is sending me to sleep!

Sooverthemill · 30/03/2020 16:17

Did a few minutes yoga yesterday and today bizarrely chose yoga for runners ( which I am not and never have been) and it was short and very nice. Starting to feel better. I hope everyone is well

Sooverthemill · 31/03/2020 11:32

Did my fall back 'enjoy' day 16 of 30 days of yoga. Very gentle and lovely. Was aching after yesterday which shows how fast I decondition. Loved it. Hope everyone is keeping well

mimiasovitch · 01/04/2020 11:54

Morning all. Everyone hanging in in there? I have a confession. I cheated on Adriene again, this time with Tim. And I liked it Blush. I'm going to do his 30 day challenge for April.

Sooverthemill · 01/04/2020 15:03

Who is Tim? ( hopefully not my DH who is called that!) I couldn't do yoga today as I overslept and by the time I got up DH was at his desk conferencing calling half the NHS

mimiasovitch · 02/04/2020 09:04

Is your Tim a bright toothed Californian who likes to do yoga on the beach?
I'd seen Yoga withTim mentioned on the Kula boards (I think) so I thought I'd give him a go. Just about to do day 2 in his 30 day challenge. He's not quite the communicator that Adriene is, so I had to look at the screen a little more than usual, but not like the Fightmaster one I tried where I was hopelessly lost the whole time. He also doesn't account for different abilities - for example, I can't put my foot on my inner thigh for tree, so I put it on my calf. He just said 'inner thigh, off you go' (ish). I'm hoping I've done enough Adriene to know when and how to adapt poses.

Sooverthemill · 02/04/2020 10:20

Ooh maybe I should check him out. Before I discovered YWA I followed someone called Erica who was also in Austen.

Today is my birthday so I celebrated with 'enjoy' quite forgetting there is a birthday yoga video, maybe I will do that tomorrow!

mimiasovitch · 02/04/2020 12:21

Happy birthday WineDaffodilCake

Have a lovely day, and hope you're feeling well.

Sooverthemill · 08/04/2020 09:49

Still working my way through this months calendar. Enjoying it very much. Hope everyone is well

speakout · 09/04/2020 18:46

Hi fon't want to hi jack this thread.
I am on day 14 of Adrienes 30 day challenge ( her first one i think)
Which one should I tackle next?
Is there a set order to take the 30 day blocks?

Apologies if this has been answered already.

Sooverthemill · 10/04/2020 11:25

@speakout welcome. There's no set order! They were all done one a year so 30 days & yoga camp were the first two then revolution then true then delicate then home. My favourites are true, home and 30 days.

speakout · 10/04/2020 11:47

Ok thanks.

mimiasovitch · 11/04/2020 16:47

I didn't really get into dedicate, but o will try it again at some point, especially now I'm
In the daily practice habit.

Sooverthemill · 12/04/2020 06:36

@mimiasovitch I didn't either but will revisit. I don't get long at the moment as DH is WFH and he has to use the sitting room which is only space big enough for yoga and he's at his desk early (NHS management doing insane hours at the moment). I'm enjoying 'nurture' especially the 'rituals' which is on FWFG app. So calming

Sooverthemill · 14/04/2020 09:35

Am really enjoying the ritual practice in the FWFG member area. 15 minutes of yoga followed by 5 minutes meditation. Very soothing

mimiasovitch · 14/04/2020 13:36

I think I'll subscribe once we're all back at work. I'm getting paid, but my husband works for himself. Whilst he's still got plenty on at the moment, a lot of his clients are cutting back and in some cases holding off on paying what they owe. We're fine, but I'm not sure I should extra direct debits right now. Saying that, I did just order a Manduka mat for my birthday. I wanted a bright pink Liforme, but by the time dh went to order the 20% off offer had finished and the colour I wanted was out of stock. This is why I should just order for myself in the first place.

Sooverthemill · 14/04/2020 18:01

I have the purple liforme mat and it's worth every penny. I bought it for myself last year on my birthday. I had been making do with a tk maxx one for 4 years and I decided to treat myself when there was a 20% offer too.

I know times are hard for very many of us, and Adrienne has put some previously member only stuff on the youtube channel in the past. Maybe she will again
