Very excited when the email came this morning! Is anyone else up for this?

Soover I think I'm going to have to. Undecided about whether to go for Dedicate or whether to re-do Home.

UnaOfStormhold · 09/03/2020 17:47

True is good so far. I was put off dedicate by people saying that it was a bit too waffly but haven't tried it myself.

Sooverthemill · 09/03/2020 19:37

I didn't complete dedicate but that was because the sessions were too long and my DD was very unwell. Once I'm back at 100% I'm going to give it a go. I've now got a procedure needing to happen and then I should be okay to go! Yay

mimiasovitch · 09/03/2020 22:29

@Sooverthemill was your hospital appointment today? Hope it all went well.

UnaOfStormhold · 10/03/2020 08:52

Do you have a date for your procedure Soover? Hope it doesn't take too long before you're back on the mat.

I took my back to the GP yesterday and she noticed that my hips were slightly twisted and it looks like one leg is slightly longer than the other, which might explain the discomfort I've been in. I have a physio appointment tomorrow (lucky enough to be able to go privately rather than having to wait) which I am hoping will help work out what's going on and how to fix this. Fingers crossed!

Sooverthemill · 10/03/2020 09:41

@mimiasovitch and @Una yes, I had my hospital appointment yesterday And thankfully it was a not so bad outcome as I and my GP had feared. Had 2 biopsies but was reassured that it's standard protocol and they aren't expecting anything horrid but I still need a procedure to remove something. Hopefully it can be under local but probably I will need a General anaesthetic.

Today I feel like a horse has kicked me in the stomach and I'm molly coddling myself. I can start yoga again in a couple of days. And then short break once my appointment comes through. Yay!

@una that sounds very uncomfortable. My DSD has similar and she had a series of exercises to do on a wobble board when a teen but she never ever did them!

mimiasovitch · 10/03/2020 18:22

@Sooverthemill if ever there was a time for mollycoddling, now is it.

@UnaOfStormhold Me too! One leg is slightly longer than the other, and it messes up my hips which then causes me back problems. Yoga does help with this, but at times, this week being one of them, it does flare up. I'm kind of resigned to it now.

mimiasovitch · 10/03/2020 18:23

Forgot to say, I did day 10 of create today, yoga for insecurities. It's so lovely, even with all the planks. My side planks were fab today, which really set me up for the day.

Sooverthemill · 11/03/2020 09:18

Chickened out, no yoga. Hot pack and sofa again today!

Sooverthemill · 11/03/2020 09:19

Ooh @mimiasovitch that sounds fab, can't wait

UnaOfStormhold · 11/03/2020 21:38

Take your time Soover, no sense rushing back. Maybe listen to a few of Adriene's chatty vlogs while you sofa and hotpack!

Physio was useful today, he doesn't think it's leg length but more that I have very tight hip flexors which is messing up my pelvic tilt and putting strain on the back which I then stand in an odd way to compensate for. So every time I try a move or pose which requires hip flexibility I don't have, I tend to compensate by arching my back. Anyway, I think I'll pause True for now and really focus on feeling my way into hip stretches that don't hurt my back. Tonight I did yoga for hips and lower back instead, adding on a few pigeons, pyramids, reclining tailors and lizards as these all seem to be back-friendly hip openers. It feels good to have a better idea of what I need to work on.

Sooverthemill · 18/03/2020 10:38

I did yoga for flexibility today which is a fairly gentle 16 minute session. I haven't been able to do any for days and was desperate to get back on the mat! Hoping everyone keeping well.

drspouse · 18/03/2020 10:55

I finally finished the Jan sessions about a week ago!
I have done some other sessions though.

midwestspring · 20/03/2020 01:24

I can't go to my Pilates classes currently so have decided to start yoga.
( I don't want to lose all of the progress I've made over the last six months )
I did one session of dedicate, it was more waffly than Im used to so I might try another one.
Determined to try and make something of this time, although I'll find it hard without my instructors.

Sooverthemill · 20/03/2020 11:17

I did my yoga for focus yesterday ( didn't work though, was all over the place) but none today as I'm feeling rough again. Also had shit news that my biopsy has to be repeated on Monday which I'm absurdly upset about! Having thought I was clear and dry

Sooverthemill · 20/03/2020 11:21

@midwestspring I love Adriene and didn't get on with dedicate one bit! So maybe try True or one of her earlier ones or even the monthly calendar. Also I sometimes do a pilates online and always search 'basic Pilates'

midwestspring · 20/03/2020 15:17

Thanks for that @Sooverthemill I much preferred True.

mimiasovitch · 20/03/2020 20:41

I've managed a practice very day lately. Sometimes twice a day, in an effort to manage my stress. It's not helped really, though maybe it has and I'd be a lot worse without it. Today I did none. We had a full staff meeting today where I had to tell all my staff that we were closing. I don't think I've ever cried so much in my life. This afternoon the government promised help with pay, so there is light ahead. Tomorrow I'll do a more positive practice, and try to look forward. Hope everyone is ok.

Sooverthemill · 20/03/2020 21:01

@mimiasovitch I'm sorry, that's extremely tough for you. X

mimiasovitch · 21/03/2020 07:46

@Sooverthemill thank you. I've woken up feeling far more positive today. The staff know they'll be paid, we can keep the takeaway open (for now) and in the meantime I can paint the entire restaurant ready for when we can reopen. It'll all be fine. Also I have plenty of wine.

Sooverthemill · 21/03/2020 10:45

Wine is good! DH just shot into town to get bread and helpfully brought a bottle of wine back too!

I did the 8 minute 'boost' today as still feeling sore but desperately wanting to keep in the mat and save my sanity

mimiasovitch · 22/03/2020 17:02

Still feeling crappy. Too many emotions this week and all my reserves have gone. Have decided to close our takeaway as well, as being on a beach we can't manage other people's social distancing. I got very cross, quite tearful, but just did a 45 minute practice for self discipline and feel miles better. My arms and legs are aching but my heart feels lifted. I can't change what's happening out in the wider world, but I must make an effort to keep myself sane. This will mainly involve avoiding Facebook, which is good practice anyway I feel.

Sooverthemill · 22/03/2020 19:26

@mimiasovitch that's rubbish for you. It's just an awful time for everyone. We live in Southwold and it's overrun with people ( we should be very quiet until the holidays start). All our favourite cafes have closed. We are buying gift vouchers to help give an income stream. And I've just paid our dog walker her normal amount even though she can't walk anyone. We are 'lucky' because DH is NHS so will get paid even if he's sick and at the meant he's WFH and sorting out how to get support to vulnerable patients who are still at home but have no food or loo roll and no volunteers can go in. It's a nightmare, he's in the phone 7 days a week as it changes hourly.

Sorry, yoga. I did the moon practice today. It was lovely. My 15 minutes of sanity before I got back to DD and real life. My repeat biopsy is tomorrow, dreading it and fearing having to go into a hospital tbh.

mimiasovitch · 22/03/2020 20:14

I'll be thinking of you, and hope your results come back soon x

midwestspring · 22/03/2020 21:01

@Sooverthemill hope the biopsy goes okay tomorrow.
No yoga today but basement cleared out ready for tomorrow.
We are on a shelter in place order.
