It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

Completed day 26 with DD attempting to do it too. Those side hip dips are a killer and I totally collapsed into the mat on each one 🙈

AugustRose · 27/01/2019 19:17

Day 26 done, the lizard twists were tricky but I think I liked them and I needed to sit on my block in cow legs, it was an OK day.

piglet81 · 27/01/2019 19:44

Day 26 done. I did not enjoy that - was basically a sequence of all the ways my body doesn't bend Hmm but I gave it a go at least.

Destiel · 27/01/2019 20:00

Ha! Me too piglet!

I feel like a hippo with the staggers next to Adrienne :)

visca · 27/01/2019 21:20

I enjoyed Day 26, despite how short it was. I'm going to revisit it - I ran a 1/2 marathon this morning and my left knee is a bit temperamental, so those dip things were a bit beyond me! Loved the squats though.

piglet81 · 27/01/2019 21:36

Haha destiel, excellent image! Grin

eurochick · 27/01/2019 21:58

Day 26 was twisty! I found the side dips hard and got into a bit of a knot trying to do the rotation. It was nice to have something a bit different though.

daisychain01 · 27/01/2019 22:08

Adriene has so many outfits, she must have literally hundreds of pairs of leggings and tops. I liked the teal green ones she wore for Day 21 Light which I finally managed to squeeze in today.

Tomorrow I plan to do Day 26 and 27 together.

Spudlet · 27/01/2019 22:09

Days 25 and 26 done. That was hard - my hips are way too tight for those side dips! I ended up in a tangle and a half. Needed the time on the mat though, had some bad family news yesterday and a poorly DS to boot, so a bit of time to just focus was welcome.

coffeecow · 27/01/2019 23:27

Day 26 done. A bit of a shock to the system after the slow days of late but I think I enjoyed it Confused

I found the second side of the cow legs very tricky on my hip but loved the first side.

Destiel · 28/01/2019 01:14

Sadly accurate piglet :)

noodlezoodle · 28/01/2019 06:17

Caught up with 24, 25 and 26 today, they were all quite short so it was still less than an hour but very enjoyable. I enjoyed the balances and the cow legs, did NOT enjoy the lizards and the side-dip things, but I suppose that means I should persist with them, argh.

Can't believe it's less than a week to go! Thank you quirkychick for the Yin video recommendation, that sounds good for a tired day. Hope you feel better soon.

carrie74 · 28/01/2019 08:56

Just did 25 and 26 today, so nearly caught up again, yay!

Those hip dips were weird, never done anything like them before. Really liked the gate move/pose though.

Trying to decide whether to do my normal class tonight or tomorrow...they're both really strong practices, but the Monday one works on a monthly theme, and this month's has been really tough but great - the one legged squat balance with the other leg resting on your knee is part of it actually, so at least that one was manageable today!

quirkychick · 28/01/2019 09:25

Back to Yoga for when you're sick here. I do feel better when I've done it. Fed up with feeling achy and tired. I added a cow legs in solidarity with everyone else and a much needed stretch, but agree it can take some practice!

AugustRose · 28/01/2019 10:47

@quirkychick I added a cow legs in solidarity with everyone else Where else could you say that but on a yoga thread Grin

Day 27 done here, it's longer (yay) and some good stretches, there is quite a bit on the wrists and down dogs for anyone struggling with that.

Destiel · 28/01/2019 11:20

Has anyone done day 27 yet?

Destiel · 28/01/2019 11:25

Ha! Great x post!

Cherrypi · 28/01/2019 14:37

Yes found some bits hard.

quirkychick · 28/01/2019 16:13

Grin AugustRose I'm sure there's lots of other weird sentences you could make with yoga poses.

Habadabadoo · 28/01/2019 16:42

Just done day 27! It's better as it's longer and more poses. However!! Wow I couldn't do the one legged splits for very long. She had me laughing at trying to put one knee in the other in this pose! I felt like the videos had gone from 0 to 60 without building the strength for that over the last 27 days! My legs were on fire!
Anyone else feel the same? Would have liked to have been building up to this more so I could actually manage it on the last day or something!

Habadabadoo · 28/01/2019 16:44

On another note my YouTube starting playing the next video automatically which is the science behind yoga. Very nice video. I am finding I have bought the breathing into my day to day life when feeling under pressure or when I have mild panic attacks during the night/ when I wake first thing in the morning. Also I love the phrase 'lead with the heart' which I say in my mind sometimes too.

Talisin · 28/01/2019 19:21

Day 27 done! Back on target after several days of playing catch up and not feeling very zen about it so today was nice. It’s one of the ones that’s not easy to follow from just her voice though, I had to keep looking up (usually whilst in a position really not conducive to doing so) and ended up standing while she was lying down at one point. Feeling a lot better after feeling pretty blah all day though.

There was a point in one of her earlier videos this month where she said something along the lines of regular yoga practise doing something to you that can’t really be explained but basically making you feel better about yourself. You don’t have to be good at it for it to happen, it just does. And it really has for me this January.

Talisin · 28/01/2019 19:35

By the by - as Adriene tends to do the final 30 days practice as a free style thing, which is not something I enjoy, has anyone got any recs for another of her practices to replace it? Preferably in the 30-40 minute bracket so I’d watch the begining of day 30, then switch to another session and then switch back to the end of day 30.

daisychain01 · 28/01/2019 20:29

@Talisin you could try Day 17 or 20 or 21 of Adriene's original 30 Days series. I love day17, it's all about Happiness. All three of these reds are 30 - 30 mins long each, so hopefully helpful as a subs for the freestyle if that's not your bag x

Yay, I'm up to date, I did yesterday's Drop Day 26 and today's Power Day 27 sessions back to back, took around 53 mins total. I've noticed my stamina has increased, and I can finally do the "bringing foot forward from down dog into lunge" reasonably smoothly now.

I think my standing splits started OK but gradually deteriorated as my standing leg got tired, and it ended up like a rough version of Benji pee'ing up the wall hey ho all in a day's yoga Grin
