It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

I agree itssquidstella, I think the videos are shorter definitely and it feels slightly more targeted to beginners (not that that's a bad thing obviously!)

coffeecow · 24/01/2019 21:41

Enjoyed today. I agree with you @itssquidstella the videos are definitely shorter and less 'work pity'. I'm enjoying it because I struggled with getting to the mat last year, I just couldn't be bothered some days so didn't bother. This year feels more gentle and I've had very few days where I've not looked forward to it at the end of a long day!

Cherrypi · 24/01/2019 21:58

I think it’s easier too. Definitely less repeats of the hard stuff. Probably the reason I’ve lasted longer this year.

itssquidstella · 24/01/2019 22:07

I'm still enjoying it - it's easier to make time for after the gym, both because the videos are shorter and because it isn't quite so tough! If I was doing it instead of my usual workouts, rather than on top, it wouldn't be enough though. Agree that it's good it's so accessible for beginners but I'm just slightly disappointed that it's not harder work!

coffeecow · 24/01/2019 22:14

I wonder if she finds it hard to know where to pitch it as I should think she has all abilities following along. I guess her main goal is to get people to commit to a regular practise and so this might be why she's chosen to do shorter videos this time?

piglet81 · 24/01/2019 22:38

Day 23 done 🙏 Forearm planks are so hard! I love extended child's pose though.

whitershadeofpale · 24/01/2019 23:28

22 and 23 done so back up to date. It definitely wasn’t my best practice today as my arms and shoulders were hurting from yesterday. All the planking was a struggle.

I’m really glad and surprised that I’ve kept it up. I’ve enjoyed it so much and can see the benefits. My bum’s lifted a bit and I’m getting a bit of arm definition.

chutneypig · 25/01/2019 07:10

I remember the original 30 days seems tougher but it was my first foray into daily practise. So that’s probably skewed it. It’s working for me at the moment but is a supplement to my other exercise.

Day 24 is done and it was just what I needed. Balance took all my concentration so was great to quieten my mind which will be sorely needed today. Lots of modifications too.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 25/01/2019 07:40

I've slipped way behind after visitors last weekend and a nasty bug / migraine earlier in the week. I did her yoga for migraines on Wednesday and her run cool down on Tuesday.

I'm just about to do day 18 now and I'll do 19 tonight. I don't think I'll catch up by day 30 but I'll join you all once I've finished.

Ietthemeatcake · 25/01/2019 08:42

Day 24 done. I'm afraid I found that boring. It took 7 mins for get going and I was running late for work so was getting frustrated at not getting frustrated on with it. I don't think I'll return to this one. I enjoyed yesterday though and will do that again.

Thanks for the new thread @gumpendorf 😁

Destiel · 25/01/2019 09:34

Yes it was a bit boring and I find balance poses hard but my thighs and arms got a good stretch

Ulysses · 25/01/2019 09:42

I was bored too! Too much standing still for me - and my arms were aching holding them in the air so often. I managed to do the one legged stretch she does on the cover for a nano second both times, but then totally collapsed and couldn't really get back into the hang off it.

Gumpendorf · 25/01/2019 10:20

Balance for day 24 is trolling me. Yesterday I walked out of the house and slipped on black ice and have badly sprained my wrist. Hopefully, once the initial pain has subsided, I shall be able to do some hands-free yoga. I really need it because I can feel my neck muscles getting tense with the effort of trying to get into a comfortable position. A few seconds and my body seems to have become misaligned again. We’ll see what the next few days brings.

So frustrating. I was thrilled I’d got to Day 22 and within touching distance of finishing 30 days in 30 days.

Hope you’re all keeping safe and balanced!

Oh how frustrating, @Gumpendorf! I hope your arm heals up quickly. There is a great video for neck pain on Adriene's channel which doesn't require any weight bearing on the arms.

AugustRose · 25/01/2019 11:19

Oh no Gumpendorf sending good vibes for quick healing!

I did not enjoy Day 24, I understand feeling the alignment is part of the process but I agree with others about the waffle. I think because this set are shorter it is more noticeable when she spends time talking at the start and 7 minutes stood still bored me. I did extra after it finished again just to feel like I had done something, balancing is not my thing, as I've mentioned before.

Destiel · 25/01/2019 11:20

Get well soon G x

mynameiscalypso · 25/01/2019 11:53

So sorry to hear about your injury @Gumpendorf - hope your wrist feels better soon.

I enjoyed Day 24 once it got going but then it felt very short. I used the waffle to tidy the bedroom though so it wasn't wasted (although I'm not sure that was quite the point...)

itssquidstella · 25/01/2019 12:23

Haha @mynameiscalypso, I've been using her waffly intros to dust my chest of drawers and check my work emails - not sure that's quite getting into the zone but it works for me!

coffeecow · 25/01/2019 13:01

Oh no @Gumpendorf that's rubbish. Hope it feels better soon!!

eurochick · 25/01/2019 13:46

Oh dear! I hope the wrist will be fine soon.

I managed 23 last night so I have finally caught up.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 25/01/2019 17:23

Oh no gumpendorf Flowers hope you make a speedy recovery.

After I posted this morning I failed to do day 18 again. I put it on but went back to bed Blush. It was my 3rd try bit because it's straight into a really long down dog it makes my back and shoulders hurt immediately. I need to warm up to it.

I'm going to skip it and do day 19 tonight. I hope I'll come back to it afterwards.

DonnaDarko · 25/01/2019 17:27

I was ill for over a week so I'm really behind. I doubt I will catch up, but it's interesting reading everyone else's experiences.

I got ill last year too and never finished!

DeadBod · 25/01/2019 18:00

Speedy recovery gump Flowers
Thanks to a letthemeatcake for the waffle tipoff, I started the video before getting my mat and myself prepped and still had to forward it a bit. I liked the poses but couldn't hold them for long without my legs burning. Might try the balance bit of this another time.
Just 17 minutes tomorrow.

whitershadeofpale · 25/01/2019 18:23

I really didn’t enjoy today much. Too much waffling, we didn’t do much and what we did I couldn’t do for long. I like being challenged but like to have other stuff mixed in so I feel like I’ve achieved something.

Habadabadoo · 25/01/2019 18:43

Interesting reading everyone's comments on today's video. I can't do it today as no time but sounds like I'll easily be able to do the two tomorrow.
