It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

Marking my place on the new thread, himeveryone.

I'm trying to,squeeze in 2 sessions before dinner so this one is brief.

I've just done Day 23 I think it was, it was Joy/Pleasure anyway. Nice slide planks that flowed rather than statick so easier on my wrists not staying jammed in position.

Nipping off for the next session of Balance day 24

Still must catch up Day 21....

FranKubelik · 25/01/2019 20:12

Day 24 done. I had to lean against the sofa for stability for the standing on one leg bits.
Agree with whitershade - starting to see an impact in arm definition and bum feels a bit lifted.

coffeecow · 25/01/2019 20:27

Found today really boring and I couldn't stop fidgeting at the start. Struggled with the balancing as well, just wasn't 'in the zone'. Oh well it's done!!

GreenHatHacker · 25/01/2019 20:32

I do appreciate everyone's comments. Was a day behind and knackered, so have done 24 rather than 23 which I hope to catch up on tomorrow. Had to hold onto the wall for balances though - I don't seem to be getting any more stable!

Spudlet · 25/01/2019 20:44

Caught up today with days 23 and 24. Wasn't feeling the love for either but that's mostly to do with the fact that it's been a slightly shitty day and I'm tired, and wobbly balances make me feel crappy. Le sigh.

Still, I'm back on track now, so there's that. Hopefully tomorrow will be less of a struggle, mentally.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 25/01/2019 22:29

I've Just done day 19 and 20 in one go. I liked both of them. I'm going to try to do two at a time until I've caught up now.
There's definitely some tightness around my right hip and knee that I wasn't aware of before doing this. I makes sense because I've had several injuries on that side e.g. plantar fasciitis and Achilles injury. It's good to identify it. Now I just need to keep up with the yoga.

Destiel · 26/01/2019 09:46

Apparently day 25 is a short one

AugustRose · 26/01/2019 10:08

Day 25 done, it is short but straight in and some good stretches. I can't believe there are only 5 more, where did January go!

AugustRose · 26/01/2019 10:36

I wanted something more again and on the first thread someone mentioned Five Parks Yoga so I gave this Rise and Shine class a go (sorry Adriene Blush). You have to know your poses as it's quick and I had to miss out a couple of chatarunga near the end as I couldn't keep up, but it definitely got the heart going and I am actually warm! I'll come back to this one for sure.

Destiel · 26/01/2019 11:06

Day 25 done but ds2 interrupted me twice so I didn't enjoy it

quirkychick · 26/01/2019 11:41

AugustRose I did that one last week, it was good but quite tough. She doesn't give you many modifications, though.

I've got dd2's cold so the last 3 days, I have done Adriene's 10 mins meditation one from the December calendar, rested yesterday and managed the Yoga for when you're sick. Hoping to have more energy and catch up soon.

itssquidstella · 26/01/2019 11:56

I enjoyed day 25 and wished it was longer. Day 24 felt so short - we barely did anything!

Destiel · 26/01/2019 11:59

I'm considering concentrating on my hips, back and shoulders after this ends.

DeadBod · 26/01/2019 13:32

Day 25 done. Short but a good stretch out. This might be good paired together with the moving bits from yesterday.
I like the look of the Five Parks video.

Fiadh79 · 26/01/2019 15:10

Can I join the thread? I'm currently working through Dedicate (going to do day 16 later today as I don't have time to do it every day) and I came across the other thread and really enjoyed reading it.

Eventbrite I'm not doing it every day I'm still doing more than I've ever done and I'm really enjoying it! I think I'm going to persevere with trying at least four times per week when I've finished Dedicate. Maybe using her suggested calendar as a guide.

eurochick · 26/01/2019 15:13

I managed 24 last night. I was going to skip it as I'd had a g and t and I though that might not be compatible with a balance session but I actually did quite well. Balance is normally a real weakness for me but I was less wobbly than normal (still quite wobbly).

I was the one who mentioned Five Parks on the last thread. That one is quite fast paced. Some are a bit more gentle but overall I think they are more for intermediates rather than complete beginners. They do a brilliant neck and shoulder one that really stretches me out after sitting at a desk all day that doesn't require any prior yoga knowledge I would say.

GetUpAgain · 26/01/2019 16:08

I fell by the wayside long ago due to family crisis.... I am trying to keep on going with everything and have picked it back up. Did day 15 today so I'm halfway there. Just posting this to kind of mark a place. I will get to the end and I know yoga helps with life's struggles. Namaste everyone.

chutneypig · 26/01/2019 16:36

Welcome Fiadh79!

Sorry to hear that GetUpAgain, glad you’re picking it back up, I’m sure it will help.

I’ve just finished Day 25 and loved it. I would have enjoyed it more without my children arguing most of the way through.

I can really feel an improvement in posture now and parkrun this morning felt much stronger, my core too.

cheminotte · 26/01/2019 16:56

Just done days 22 and 23 together. Slightly more chat than necessary on day 23 I felt.

Fiadh79 · 26/01/2019 17:06

Thanks Chutneypig. And it's really good to hear you can feel a difference.

I hope things get better for you GetUpAgain.

I just did day 14. It was nice and stretchy but I could have done with a little more. Before I did that I attempted her knees, chest and chin pose foundation video. I can't do chaturanga at all and have heard that knees, chest and chin is a good alternative for beginners. It's so hard though!

Thinking about it I was shaking quite a bit during some of the core work in some of the day 14 video, so I obviously did something!

carrie74 · 26/01/2019 18:02

Still very behind here, just did Day 21, which was a bit dull.

Hope things improve Get Up.

And vibes for wrist recovery too, it was very icy in the week here, a friend of mine slipped and knocked her head quite badly - mild concussion.

Going to try to do a few tomorrow...

Habadabadoo · 26/01/2019 18:26

I've caught up - did the one from yesterday along with today's. Didn't overly enjoy either and didn't help that I just wanted it over with as had other stuff to be getting on with!
Namaste to everyone with problems and our new posters.

daisychain01 · 26/01/2019 19:16

Managed to do 2 today, Day 24 Balance which I didn't enjoy much and Day 5 which was back to enjoyable.

What didn't I like about 24 ... way too much waffle standing in tadasana, I felt like getting on with some cat cow downdog or anything, it was too pointless. The balances were awful but probably my punishment for being irritated by the waffle Grin

I will probably redo balance on a different day and tag it to another vid beforehand but cut out the first 6 mins, then I'll feel I've done something.

Welcome Fiad! You'll soon catch up, enjoy!

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 26/01/2019 19:19

Thanks for the new thread. Am still hugely behind but going at my own pace and still thoroughly enjoying it. I’ll probably finish by the end of February!

VioletCharlotte · 26/01/2019 20:18

I'm behind too, but that's ok. Just finished day 16, which was lovely.
