It's day 23 and there are just 7 days of Dedicate left. Well done yogis for getting onto the mat in your own way and at your own pace. We’re here to support each other as we yoga to the end of Dedicate, through to Feb and beyond.

Ooh, the happiness one looks good. I must have done it at some point but don’t remember it at all. Thanks for the rec, daisychain01Smile

GreenHatHacker · 28/01/2019 21:07

Day 27 - that was a bit energetic! Enjoyable though to see how much more stamina I have since day 1.

Talisin I know what you mean about daily practice making everything better. Doing this has made me stick to other resolutions too - like getting a little walk in daylight at lunchtime. I feel more robust in head as well as body!

mynameiscalypso · 28/01/2019 21:20

Really enjoyed Day 27, a good balance I thought. I skipped 26 yesterday as was feeling a bit under the weather but I'm at home tomorrow so will try and double up. I am quite looking forward to Feb's calendar partly because I don't feel like I need to stick to it so rigidly and can chop and change depending what I'm in the mood for.

coffeecow · 28/01/2019 21:50

Enjoyed day 27 once I got to it although I had a lot do 'you can catch up tomorrow, what's one day' conversations with myself all day. I'm sadly not the sort of person to self motivate very easily so I am working hard at keeping the momentum going at the tail end of this. Glad I dragged myself to the mat in the end.

I have such tight hamstrings I struggle to get my leg up the air straight, have to have quite a bend in the knee. Not sure how to improve that!!

Destiel · 28/01/2019 21:54

Feeling very grotty today so I've not done today's.
I'll get back on it tomorrow.

itssquidstella · 28/01/2019 22:27

I've got a rotten cook so haven't managed day 27. I'm hoping I'll feel up to doing 27 and 28 together tomorrow!

itssquidstella · 28/01/2019 22:27

Cold, not cook! I'd love a cook...

chutneypig · 29/01/2019 06:29

coffeecow I could have written your entire post yesterday! I definitely dragged myself to the mat. I found the standing splits hard, ok at first but the length of time was hard on my tight hamstrings I had to give up in the end and go to child’s pose, first time I’ve had to do that.

I feel like I had a fantastic stretch across my shoulders at the back, it did feel a leap up from some of the recent sessions.

Ulysses · 29/01/2019 07:16

chutneypig and I could have written yours likewise! Had to give up towards the end as I will getting tied in knots and nowhere near where Adriene was. I'd like to try it again. I missed Sunday's so did Day 26 in the morning, but my laptop run out with 8 minutes to go. I tried to pick up later on and then went straight into Day 27 but it was a bit too much. Still I've just finished Day 28 and it was a lovely session. Anything where Adriene has a blanket usually is!

quirkychick · 29/01/2019 09:37

itssquidstella I've had a rotten cold too Sad, hope you feel better soon (Adriene's Yoga when you're sick is good, as is her 10mins meditation).

I managed Day 23, Joyful, which was a good one to come back to, a few planks, but quite gentle and stretchy, loved the lying down hip rotations at the end.

I'm another one with tight hamstrings and a few years ago, I had tendonitis in my right hamstring. I also have a very tight left hip. I usually find I start a yoga session with knees slightly bent and often hips apart, particularly with forward bends, then gradually get to straight legs and feet together as I go on. The "runner's stretch" as Adriene calls it is also good, particularly if you do it dynamically, moving forward in and out of a low lunge.

Destiel · 29/01/2019 09:47

Day 28 done.

I enjoyed it. Some nice stretches.

Gumpendorf · 29/01/2019 09:56

Thanks for the kind thoughts. My wrist is less painful now and getting slooowly better each day. This is the first day I can hold my phone and tap w/o too much agony so it's all good from here Grin

I've so missed the daily yoga and as today is hands free and meditative I'm going to have a go.

I think you'll be ok today...may be just not with the twists

AugustRose · 29/01/2019 14:51

I have a cold too so didn't think I'd be able to do today's but it is all on the floor and quite gentle so I'm pleased I started it. Not sure about tomorrow but we'll see.

Destiel · 29/01/2019 15:00

Next 2 are longer...

FuzzyShadowChatter · 29/01/2019 15:29

Day 27's one leg section kicked my butt, I find my feet and lower legs get really annoyed with me if I'm on one foot long so ended up kneeling and in child's pose a few times trying to let them recover.

Day 28 was much more relaxed and my legs enjoyed it much more, though I still want to work on getting stronger.

I did manage this week to finally get to my nearest TKMaxx and found the yoga mats (hiding in the back corner of women's clothing area after I'd tried the home section first) and the thicker proper yoga mat was so worth it for my knees and wrists than my old thin fitness mat.

itssquidstella · 29/01/2019 19:14

Days 27 and 28 in the bag! I enjoyed 27 apart from the standing splits - I'm not brilliant at them at the best of times, and having a cold has thrown my balance totally off so I didn't cover myself in glory with my attempts today! Day 28 would have been boring on its own, I think - too much introductory waffle - but it complemented day 27 quite nicely. Looking forward to tomorrow; like a previous poster, I'm not keen on the final free-flowing day so I might find a different video to do on day 30 and just drop in for the beginning and end of that session.

This month has gone so quickly!

Spudlet · 29/01/2019 19:32

27 & 28 done on time. I have ordered myself a block after those standing splits, that was haaaard.

Can't believe there are only two days to go! Sad

qumquat · 29/01/2019 20:17

@gumpendorf I've just discovered Five Parks Yoga have a whole load of wrist free yoga videos. I've switched completely to doing them for now as my wrist is agony. I love them!

Habadabadoo · 29/01/2019 20:25

Day 28 done. First five mins of doing nothing annoys me but the test was good.
Sending get well wishes to all those who are poorly.

noodlezoodle · 30/01/2019 02:04

Days 27 and 28 done. I think I would have enjoyed 27 more if my lower back and hip hadn't been a bit grouchy. I'd hoped that by the end of these 30 days I'd be gracefully floating across the finish line but as it is I think I'll be staggering over it, clutching various aching body parts. Oh well, it all still counts, right?!

daisychain01 · 30/01/2019 04:29

Did Day 28 on the right day Grin

I ended up doing some cat-cow and forward stretches while the initial chit-chat was going on in the background. It's was quite nice listening to Adriene while I was doing some gentle limbering up - I'm too much of a fidget to sit there listening! The rest of the session was fine, lots of hamstring stretches lying down, which I needed after spin today.

Glad you're on the mend @gumpendorf, slowly does it x

chutneypig · 30/01/2019 06:22

Good to hear from you Gumpendorf take care!

I’ve been very tired this week and it was a struggle again to do day 28. I’m quite glad because of that that it was fairly gentle. My hamstrings were very stiff after the last session.

quirkychick · 30/01/2019 07:38

I've managed to do Day 24, balance. It's quite good that it was a slow one, as I'm still getting my energy back, but even that was too much waffle for me I may have fast forwarded the very long mountain pose. A little wobbly on the dancer pose, particularly on my left leg, as it's a tight hip, but not bad as I'm still recovering.

Destiel · 30/01/2019 10:19

Day 29 done.
I got very warm!
I absolutely could not do the arm twist thing at the end...baffling.
