Yoga With Adrienne - Revolution 31 days

Anyone signed up to these emails starting on NYD? I started yoga at the beginning of the year and have been surprised at how much I enjoy it, did the 30 days of yoga earlier in the year, and am committed to completing Revolution in real time!

Love Adriene, so gentle and kind. Total girl crush!

I'm behind on Day two today but as a complete beginner really enjoying it. At first I found a lot of the "feel the experience" a bit silly but then found myself really concentrating on my breathing and felt
totally relaxed afterwards. Bit nervous about it getting a lot harder as I'm not flexible at all but will see how I get on!

FiftyNineOhEight · 04/01/2017 17:07

I am a bit sore today but that might be because yesterday morning was the first boot camp of the year. Looking forward to doing day 4 tonight.

BaklavaBalaclava · 04/01/2017 20:21

Day 4 done!

dublinmary · 04/01/2017 20:28

Day 4 done, I found it hard!

BaklavaBalaclava · 04/01/2017 20:36

me too Dublin - I think it's the fact that you're doing it everyday... I'm still aching from day 1-3, so doing day 4 was quite hard work...

whyhastherumgone · 04/01/2017 20:37

I've caught up as far as day three - still really enjoying it but definitely felt the third session more. Really glad I discovered it though.

Muppetslikecoco · 04/01/2017 20:39

Day 4 done. Again I felt pretty demoralised, I couldn't do the circles with my knees much at all. But at the end when I've done what I can I feel better about it.

BaklavaBalaclava · 04/01/2017 20:44

Yoga is a journey not a destination!

I really really struggled with the knee thing (the fire hydrant bit?)

It didnt even feel good at that point! just weird and difficult...

Don't feel demoralised - just think how great you'll be by the end of day 31

Muppetslikecoco · 04/01/2017 20:45

Quirky thank you for the recommendation, I'm going to try and do one foundation video a day too. Sometimes when she says things like 'engage your sockets' or 'open your chest' I'm sat there thinking 'but what does that actually mean?!'. I think those videos will help.

al88 · 04/01/2017 21:05

Just finished day 3. Missed it yesterday as I went to my usual yoga class and I couldn't face a second session. I think I'll switch to evenings now as it fits in better.

carrie74 · 04/01/2017 22:19

I had a regular yoga class tonight (jogged the 1km there too, but wussed out on way back as so cold and someone gave me a lift home), so hoping to catch up on day 4 tomorrow morning before work. There were definitely things better in my class (I definitely feel longer in my forward folds, and coped fairly well in some challenging lunge poses tonight), but lots in my class tonight that killed me (5 mini press ups in every plank flow. Of which there were MANY).

Day 4 done earlier and I think my abs are aching. I have been engaging them more and sitting better too so i'm pleased i can feel it.

Hurran!

Unicornsandrainbows3 · 04/01/2017 22:46

Day four done. The knee thing was hard!

PhyllisWig · 04/01/2017 23:09

Could I ask a really silly thing please? I'm quite a novice (have been to classes in the past but not extensively). I'm enjoying it more than expected but I'm finding that having to look up at the screen to check the poses is putting stress on my neck. I've moved the angle of my mat around but am struggling a bit with this. Any ideas on how to manage this?

CountFosco · 05/01/2017 05:40

Did day 4 yesterday. Love lizard pose, it's one of my favourites but not so keen on the plank resting on the forearms. I suspect today will be a bit easier (or at least concentrating on different areas), I found that with both 30 days and Yoga Camp. You think you need to give up then she does a nice restorative practice the next day.

Eastpoint · 05/01/2017 08:58

Day 5 completed - glad to be able to fit it in early today.

Hockneypool · 05/01/2017 09:48

Day 5 done too. Really enjoyed it. Trying to move with ease, grace and rhythm but was glad no one was watching my ungainly attempts!

Musicianofbremen · 05/01/2017 09:53

I did days 3 and 4 yesterday. It's definitely different to 30days and Yoga Camp.

Don't be demoralised. Like everyone else says it's a journey not a destination.

GerardNoWay · 05/01/2017 10:00

I've found a lot if it quite difficult, and I worry about my form sometimes. But trying to respect where I am at this stage and not push myself or get frustrated. I find the breathing and tuning in to my body very relaxing, so there are some positives.

Expellibramus · 05/01/2017 10:01

I've just done day 5 Smile

sugarmonster64 · 05/01/2017 10:38

Day 5 done here too. The emails come just about 20 mins too late for me to fit in before I leave for work but off today so managed it. I prefer early morning to evening routines. These ones are longer than the 30 days of yoga - I find 15-20 mins easier to fit in than 30 but going to give it a go and try and complete the month

Hellmouth · 05/01/2017 11:12

aaah!

Only managed to do day 3 yesterday and have woken up with a horrible cold and a pounding headache! i know yoga will make me feel better but I only really have the energy to hang out with DS in bed with a massive throw and watch Gilmore Girls. Will try to do days 4 & 5 after a hot chocolate and a pint of water. I will not let this cold defeat me!!!!!!

Wombletor · 05/01/2017 12:10

Day 5 completed.Brew

Muppetslikecoco · 05/01/2017 13:49

Phyllis I'm having the exact same problem, I think it will get easier when I learn what her directions mean so I don't have to look at her to see what to do but her voice will be enough of a guide. Until then I have no ideas though.

DancingTattyBogle · 05/01/2017 16:11

Did Day 5 as soon as I got back in from my short run this morning, so I was a bit wobbly. Even if I hadn't been out for a run, there was no way I was ever going to be able to reach round and grab that back foot! Phyllis I also agree with Muppets that there isn't an easy solution but the more often I do Adriene's videos the more I find that I don't have to look up at the screen, I can just be guided by her voice. Sorry I can't be more help!
