CQC interview

Hello!
I am a usual Mumsnetter, but changed username.

I had an interview with CQC for a inspector role just over two weeks ago, they said they'd be in touch either way by end of last week or beginning of this week. The portal says my application is "in review" and no change since before interview.

How long shall I give it until I follow up, or shall I even follow it up at all? It's a job I've wanted for a while but I'm unsure of what the realistic timescales are with these sorts of organisations!

I first applied in March, completed and passed my written assessment but was informed that I was outside the currently area of recruitment.
I have my interview tomorrow, any tips on the questions I could get asked.
My 20+ years is in adult social care, 16 years as a support worker, 4.5 years with a company where I progressed from Field care supervisor- care coordinator- Deputy manager.

Hey! I had my interview on Monday- really not sure how it went but I guess time will tell 🤞🥴 the questions are mostly competency based- tell us about a time you had to make a difficult decision, tell us about a time you handled a safeguarding incident, etc. They will be looking for you to use the STAR method in your answers (situations, task, action, result) and make sure you say ‘I did this’ rather than ‘we’- they want to know what YOU specifically did. During mine they also asked questions regarding the written assignment we had to complete, they just want to know about your thought process and how you approached it. The panel that interviewed me were really lovely and put me at ease, and the hour flew by. Wishing you all the best, good luck!! X

I have my interview today and was wondering if I get offered the role what a normal week working as an ASC inspector is like.
How often are you out at a service carrying out inspections, is there normal 2 of you.

Good luck with your interview hope all goes well. I am out 2-3 times a month and sometimes there is another inspector- depends on the size of the service and what area you work in

I guess like you say, it depends on the area I cover and how many services are in that area.

Interview completed, not sure I have done enough to get through. So annoyed with myself as I could answer the questions a hundred times over now with so much more detail to demonstrate I can do the role.
But if it’s meant to be it will, if I don’t get it then there is a reason I am not meant to.

I know that feeling! I think I kept replaying it in my head for days! Which area did you apply for?

It so frustrating is it.
Sadly I have seen people over the years get roles as they know what to say and how to word it perfectly, but can’t do the job.
Where is I truly believe with the training etc and my 20+ years working on Adult Social care, I could do the job.
I am applying for the South East area.

@JollyKaw @Lozzy19 I felt the exact same after mine… could have kicked myself!! Sticking to ‘I’ instead of ‘we’ is also very difficult for me 🙈
I applied for Midlands, anyone else?
Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long to find out, now!!

I know they want use to demonstrate we are able to work independently, but most of us have probably worked in roles that you need to work as a team. Yes I was in a management role for 2 years, but it was still a team that ensures the service run smoothly.

I feel exactly the same about my interview. I came out kicking myself over all the things I wish I'd said!
It's so much easier afterwards to think about how you would have answered the questions, but when you're actually in the room and put on the spot it's completely different isn't it? I honestly don't know if I've done enough but I'm a firm believer that what's meant for me won't pass me by, so whatever happens it was meant to be. Good luck everyone!
