CQC interview

Hello!
I am a usual Mumsnetter, but changed username.

I had an interview with CQC for a inspector role just over two weeks ago, they said they'd be in touch either way by end of last week or beginning of this week. The portal says my application is "in review" and no change since before interview.

How long shall I give it until I follow up, or shall I even follow it up at all? It's a job I've wanted for a while but I'm unsure of what the realistic timescales are with these sorts of organisations!

Lancashire cqc haven't yet confirmed where I will be covering the advert said North?

Yeah I don’t know either. I’m Manchester but don’t know how CQC is split up and where I’ll be covering! Have you had idea of start dates/have they started your checks yet?

All I have had is an ID check HR messaged the other day to say that onboarding will be in touch in a few days. I'm considering handing my notice in Monday as have to give 8 weeks and don't want to take on cases that I won't complete in my current role but not sure if it's too much of a risk 🤔

That’s what I’m debating as well (though not at same stage as you). From what others have said, it could take months to get us started. I’ve been offered training and different hours in my current role, and it will be suspicious if I turn these down and don’t clarify why- I’m probably going to have to accept and go along with it until I get more confirmation from CqC in case I’m going to be put on the big waiting list.

It would be best to continue until you get your offer and then you will get your start date based on your notice period.

I have had my references requested today, and an email to say my manager will be in touch next few days now moving along very nicely 👌

Has anyone started their inspector role yet…… I’m starting in January and have now handed my notice in so am on countdown!

Very envious, you will have to let us know how it goes! I chased recently and I’m still awaiting update as to whether position even exists at the moment!

Yes...well im in the Welsh equivalent which is CIW. 12 week planned induction. Lots of mandatory training but I'm also shadowing quite a bit. All very thorough. I have a mentor and a buddy.
So far a very good experience.

I started two weeks ago. I am enjoying the flexibility.

I have just got my start date today and will commence my post on November 3rd

I haven’t heard anything. I need to chase it but had some surgery yesterday so it fell to the back of my mind. Mind send an email now.

I'm on an offer ready list for future vacancies, for a registration inspector post in the southeast. Was anyone else in this position, were you offered a post within the 12 months? I would love the job.

Yes, I passed the written assessment and now in interview ready list lol

Is all the induction training online and shadowing your colleagues on inspections?

I will feel happier once I have started….. it’s taken so long I’m scared that it will never happen …. Even though I have a start date 😂

I'm curious to know too. I have a confirmed start date and just eager to start now, would be nice to have an idea of what to expect to help ease the anticipation!

I start the same day so I expect we will be on the same induction/training!

Where are you based ? Have you had any further info about it yet ? I haven't

They do cohorts and most of the induction is virtual. You will have lots of people from around the country. They will send you your equipment and all you need a week before you start.

I believe the training is mixed areas because it’s online except for the shadowing parts. No more info yet except for ordering a desk etc.

I'm north west area really looking forward to starting have had a call with my manager she seemed lovley and explained about the induction process sounds very organised

Yeah I’m excited too. I haven’t had a call with my manager yet but we’ve exchanged a couple of emails. IT contacted me today to arrange equipment delivery so feeling very real now :)
