Most annoying phrases heard at work

I'm on a work-related call and have just heard the dreaded 'let's double-click on that' when someone wants to discuss something in more detail. I'm having to bite my fist.....

Does anyone else want to share?

Low hanging fruit.. once I was in a meeting and one guy said it about 7 times..

“Crocodile closest to the canoe…”

and

”Is the juice worth the squeeze?”

Yesterday I was on a 15 minute call, during which "reach out" was said 18 times.

Twats.

I'm not coming in today 😂

“We’re just going to have to dig deep.”
Translation: YOU just need to work harder while doing 5 peoples jobs at once 😂

'Evergreen' (marketing)
'the learning' gets me every time (eg 'well, 'the learning from that is...')
'at the end of the day', 'it is what it is' and 'it will be what it will be'

'Acknowledgement' = something managers won't do anything about that is definitely a shit situation

"oooh a funny thing happened to me at the weekend"

Usually followed by a long rambling uninteresting story and about something unremarkable.

@newbie202020, “Let’s double-click on that”?! I’ve not heard that before but I too would’ve gnawed my fist clean off! That’s horrific! @Tromso my old line manager was always “reaching out” or “feeding back” or being “fed back to”. I hadn’t had issues with any of those phrases prior to encountering said manager but now all of them trigger me massively!😫😂I personally cannot abide new roles that require you to, “Hit the ground running.” A brisk jog at a push 🤣

“Going forward”. So glad I left the civil service and don’t have to hear it any more!

Oh, and ‘flash to bang’. That was an irritant too.

I'm so happy I no longer have to sit and nod when someone spouts yet another annoying phrase......

I'll speak to this. When someone speaks to a subject, or is asked to speak to that, I find myself wanting to speak to the insanity of the nonsensical grammer, and scream to it, "You sound f'in stupid!"

"we're all in this together" - said by CEO who earns a shit ton more than us and isn't affected by any of the redundancies of course

My manager likes to make sure all information is ‘captured’ while the rest of us say recorded. I mean, she’s not wrong but it sounds so wanky. She also ‘reaches out’ ‘going forward’…

I always say “there we are then” when someone is being a twat. Only one of my colleagues has caught on!

I've caught the 'going forward ' habit and spend too much time rephrasing to avoid saying or typing it.
