Pay with Dict8

Looking for people from the previous thread that closed as must of been full?

@Chrissols: I don't have a hot water bottle. I can move the oil heater to the bedroom later but I am worried I will fall asleep - another 10 HOURS is a long time to stay awake listening for the door!!! I might just put my duvet in this room !!!!
Work yesterday was dire - only earnt about £12 the whole day in the freezing cold .. feeling proper sorry for myself

@Gally123 - I can't even get out to the shops to keep warm!!! waiting, waiting, waiting ad infinitum. Two years ago the boiler went just before Christmas and it was not repaired for six weeks, despite multiple attempts by the engineer - I seriously hope this is not the case this time.

@danblack87 ahhh, it's horrible when you feel like that, I'm with you on the £12 though, I am lucky if I got into double figures yesterday. You don't want to try and stay awake though as you will definitely feel the cold more if you are tired

@Chrissols: if I don't stay awake how will I hear the door when the gas man come round?! LOL The Penguin x

@danblack87 - is your gasman a 24 hour one?

I checked back to this time last year and my earnings are less than half every day, cannot believe the difference.

@Gally123 at least you seem to be busy in Tpro now which is good, and you start your new one next week with WeType so you should be one very busy lady.

@danblack87 I know when I had boiler breakdown a couple of years ago they rang when they were about half an hour away which was really helpful, not sure if they all do this but that was British Gas

I am on an emergency repair call-out within 24 hours so I could be waiting until at least 10.30 am tomorrow. They should ring about 1/2 hour before they arrive ... Bloody BONUS!!
Hopefully they will come in next couple of hours; if not, I will be spending the rest of the day in bed to catch up on sleep!! 2021 has not started well for me already. I feel perfectly deflated .

Hey guys, I have heat - just waiting for the water to heat up for a bath!!

New part on order for the emersion heater which apparently is source of the problem. Didn't get a call prior to arrival but I am now a happy bunny - only took about 20 mins to source the problem, yeah!!! Bath, bed, book, chocolates, crisps, peanuts [and a cheeky Baileys to help me relax) and I am away for the night!! Heaven

@danblack87 woohooo......that sounds fab......I am thinking of a sneaky G&T......don't usually drink it, but left over from Xmas (my excuse anyway)......ching ching 🍹🍹

11.10am and still not a single task......very dismal indeed

@Chrissols: Feeling a lot better today - slept like a log in a fireplace (warm and cosy) - 1/2 a glass of Baileys was still on the side when I woke up at 7am LOL

I have typed a few tasks this morning but one was really long (with lots of notes to the sec)

@Gally123: I have worked out that my earnings are just under a third of what I used to manage

@danblack87 - glad you are all sorted, nice and warm etc. the loss in earnings is not good. Would be nice for another update email from DICT8.

@Chrissols - have typed about half a dozen tasks again this morning and been shopping.

@Chrissols: I am doing my shopping on-line this afternoon as usual. Just been cleaning during tasks. I am SOoooo Bored.

@danblack87 @Gally123 I have had one solitary task all morning, only two minutes long. It's back at the stage where you daren't leave the computer in case you miss one...........

I am daring to miss several - I am so bored waiting!!

@danblack87 yes me too now. I really do not want to go back to being stuck in front of the screen hours on end being afraid to miss a minutes works

I agree life is too short to sit staring at a screen and pick up a few bits for a pittance. My New Year's resolution: 'make the best of what time I have' .

Belated Happy New Year all. I've been keeping a low profile, checking in and out to keep up with the feed. I stopped getting notifications that there were new posts some time in December so I just assumed everyone was either too busy working or too bored to be commenting!

From my point of view it's been decidedly quiet on the work front both in the run up to Christmas and since the turn of the year. I'll be interested to hear how those of you who have been successful get on with WeType. Is it likely to pay more than Dict8, or is that another secret, like the rate per line with Dict8 is supposed to be?!

@Gally123 I agree, it is about time we had an update from Dict8 as it must've been months since we had any communication from them. In fact it's so long ago, I can't even remember when it was.

Hello Poppy, welcome back and hope you have a successful New Year. Don't know why you didn't get notifications? I did. We definitely need an update from Dict8. Perhaps I could send a prompt. I got a diary for 2021 from Dict8. I don't think the rate of pay/line has ever been a secret with Dict8!!

Everyone has the same rate with Dict8 as far as I am aware. I wasn't successful with WeType but they did say their rate is lower but the work more forthcoming so possible to earn more, I think that's the same with TPro, the rate is a little less but there seems to be a steady flow of work.

@Chrissols - you have forgotten - TPro dropped their rate of pay - it is now less than half of DICT8 (I think, it is hard to judge with Euros and pounds and exchange rates).

WeType has more than one pay level, per 1 min of dictation but I think it is slightly less than DICT8 but hopefully more work of a better sound quality.
