Cornell University gang rape scandal

I found this horrifying. A woman was gang raped for multiple hours, drugged and terrorised by eight men. Men who invited more than 50 others to come and rape her too. 50 other men who could have stopped it but didn't. More men raped this one woman than trans athletes exist in American universities. But the latter has provoked a major outcry and has seen hundreds of millions of dollars spent to ban them. Why isn't the focus on these rapists? And the men who knew it was happening and did nothing? Also interesting to note that this is the first mention of Cornell University and its vile handling of this on Mumsnet. They had to write essays for crying out loud. www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5wyzrm0n74ro

In all honesty, I don’t think it has much to do with defending trans rights either.

That would require engaging with the law and making an argument, like the women of FWS or SP.

Instead we are shown memes on Mumsnet.

It seems to me that many male TRAs are basically the same as incels.

Horseshoe theory in action.

BiologicalRobot · 30/09/2026 09:01

What an absolutely disgusting and shameful thread @alcovecupboards . How dare you minimise that poor woman's ordeal by shoehorning in a different topic altogether to "prove" something that has no bearing on the first.

The only common thing about gang rape and transwoman in women's sport is entitled and arrogant MEN.

There’s a lot of this same stuff on X.

Obviously the TRA klaxon went off. This is how they attempt to defend their position.

As you say, absolutely disgusting

Just going to add here that this will be the last time I respond to you on this site. You aren't worth my time and I expect many other posters on here feel the same.

What happened there? You appear to have told yourself that you'll never be responding to yourself again 🤣

For the love of God…

I apologise if it has come across the wrong way but I was trying to find out if someone was name swapping without being offensive. It's probably more likely they have accidentally quoted themselves.

I expressed my disapproval of the originator of this thread way upstream. It's a disgusting thing to have done.

It's pretty obvious she replied to her own post to add an afterthought to that post. I do it sometimes myself.

Read "you" in that context and it's clear it refers to the person she replied to in the original post ie cupboards.

This thread has certainly exposed someone.

The Cornell incident isn't even 'black and white', it's just white, many heads should have rolled a long time ago.

Dominoodles · 30/09/2026 13:58

Further proof that TRAs only care about what happens to actual women when they can use it to benefit themselves. This post isn't the gotcha you think it is.

Awkwardisfunny · 29/09/2026 16:15

Do you know what I find horrifying? People like you who make statements of fact when there has been no conviction. What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

"Jane Doe's sworn statement in November of 2024 did not allege that she was drugged against her will or gang raped," Van Houten said in a statement on Monday.
"On the contrary, Jane Doe's statement described her participation in drug use and sexual conduct as voluntary, conscious, and consensual."

Have you read the article you linked to?

Your post is goady af towards trans people.

What happened to empathising with a woman who was gang raped? What happened to having the wisdom as a woman to know no woman wanted to be mauled by a gang.of men while she was incapacitated while 50+ other men in the group chat knowing it was happening saw nothing wrong?

I personally don't need a court of law to tell me whether I can believe women's experiences and given the rate of convictions for rape and sexual assault, your bar is the on the floor if you really believe men are innocent until proven guilty.

Cornell has a problem.

More than 1,200 incidents of sexual assault, dating and domestic violence and stalking were reported to Cornell University’s Title IX office from 2018 through 2024, USA TODAY found in an exclusive analysis of data the school reported to New York state.

Cornell rarely expels students in sex assault cases | Exclusive

A third of undergraduate women say they've been sexually assaulted. But on average, Cornell reported expelling just one attacker per year.

As I said above, this one seems straightforward, heads, spikes, walls.

As the OP is so concerned about trans rights, I can happily report that Cornell has a longstanding LGBTQ+ society (with dedicated trans pages online and regular ‘name changing clinics), a trans-inclusive bathroom and locker room policy that allows students to use the space that best aligns with their gender identity and offers gender-affirming healthcare cover in the student plan.

Depending on your point of view this denotes that Cornell is a progressive institution, way ahead of grim old TERF island, or is an institution that is happy to embrace all flavours of male-entitlement ideologies without favour.

Considering women and men are far more statistically likely to be raped than being falsely accused of raping someone, I know where my priorities lie. I also know from experience how there is little to no justice for rape survivors. Your priorities are evidently with those accused of assaulting a woman for over 7 hours and sent out WhatsApps to advertise it, we all have our own morals. Shame you aren't as disturbed by the mob mentality that kept quiet about being advertised to come and assault a woman eh!

nocoolnamesleft · 01/10/2026 15:50

I’ve been posting about Cornell all over social media. I’ve only been posting about the danger of the TRA agenda on here, as it’s the only place I can safely do so. Both show the dangers of men. However they identify.

MalcolmTent · 01/10/2026 18:02

I've lost count of how many TRAs have posted this fatuous line on twitter.

people savaging trans people for existing

Do ANY of you EVER have an original thought?
